Sephiroth's head snaps back with the force of the blow and a low sound of pure anger leaves him. He turns, trying to prevent the man from getting too much leverage on Sephiroth's sword hand. Then his right elbow snaps out, aimed at his opponent's midsection.

He can't get as much force behind it as he'd like, but it's hopefully enough to push his attacker off.
