So Sousuke has the upper hand (paw?) when it comes to being the best dog, so maybe Rin wouldn't mind a little bit of teaching and training to get him on the right foot (... paw?). That's assuming his teacher will be gracious and not so snooty, you know. Though he can understand having a hard time avoiding the latter, what with such a long snout and all.
All the better to have things rubbed in, as far as Rin's concerned.
At first that was what Rin was afraid of: the various, tasty scents mingling in the air which were bound to throw his companion off. And when that question came up, hell, Rin was sure they would be lost in no time at all if Sousuke couldn't even concentrate properly on the conversation. Never mind. Wasn't important. Not when they were clearly onto something here!
"There!" he said, pointing off in that same direction before taking off towards it right as Sousuke did. "I saw something white! Go around that corner!"
