Something like that. He changed the story so often I stopped knowing if he was getting revenge on God or revenge on himself for believing in God or what.

[It wasn't wholly untrue. Even Schuldig tended to avoid the deepest depths of Farfarello's mind for extended periods of time.]

His particular faith - or the one he was raised on - did believe in prayers being answered and signs given in very literal, direct ways by the only God that ever did or would exist. Monotheism and all that.

[He quite obviously didn't share that belief, and yet here they were. But anyway.]

Amazing that we'd find ourselves in the position of deciding what to do for such people now, hm? I can leave you to think about it on your own if you're done drinking.
