Summary: It's time to get rid of the mess that that demon made!



The attack by the demon recently has left the surrounding area in a very sorry state. Not only are some people still hospitalized or slowly recovering from the affects of the draining of their life force, but a lot of nasty accidents happened during the time that people were walking around like they were dead to the world. It's been attributed to an odd natural disaster, and many think it may have been an illness that caused it.

The Heavens have decided to send any available gods and shinki down to help out in the relief efforts. If they try hard enough, they should be easily seen for the times when they are helping people out, so it shouldn't be a problem.

On top of that, some new arrivals have suddenly appeared. Amaterasu has left them little handwritten notes pinned to their shirts:

'These people need your help! I'm sorry to throw you into things like this, but please do what you can.

☼ Amaterasu ☼'

And yes, she has doodled little suns next to her name.



Care

There are a lot of people who were left hurt because of the incident with the demon and they are still trying to recover from it. From broken bones all the way to mental trauma, these people have seen a lot of crazy stuff and they aren't feeling so hot. Any kind of care is viable, but you might also want to just be an errand-runner in order to help the qualified people who are already doing a pretty good job of helping these poor folks out.

Food

A fair number of homes and stores managed to get destroyed amidst everything going on with the demon, so there's a lot of work for the neighborhood to do in helping them out. Whether by helping to rebuild what has been broken or by just handing out some free food to the people who need it. Of course, you might also take some food for yourself. Hopefully you're not a horrible enough person to just steal from the homeless~

Literal Cleaning

And here's where the fun comes in. The buildings that need to be rebuilt and the streets that need to be cleaned up are all under works and you can help in any way you deem worthy. You might carry loads or actually put forth the effort to help rebuild some lost homes, it's up to you. Of course, if you set about helping out in this way, you might notice little fairy-like spirits flitting around each of the Near Shore residents who are working hard to help each other out. The little spirits shine brightly and seem to shy away if approached, but they titter happily anytime the person they're following does something nice.

Banquet

After the day is done, the Heavens have a special treat set up for anyone who helped out - a large banquet in the Meeting Hall back on the Far Shore. Just like any other banquet, there is food and booze of every kind available. But also, the small tittering bright white spirits are in attendance, following around any Far Shore resident who helped out today. You might find yourself with a new friend or two who won't leave you alone, who keep giggling anytime you're kind, and who don't seem to be able to talk and only exude delight and good feelings.



In Summary:

• Help out the people affected by the demon
• Give out food to people who need it
• Clean up the messes
• Eat some good food, drink some good booze
• Have fun~

Banquet

[Shuusei folds up his note, uses it to fan away one of the little spirits and then pockets it. Moving from his spot he decides to target one of the loners, and Izumo happens to be the closest. He makes his way over to the man, watching him play with the spirit for only a moment before getting right to his point.]

Is that juice, or something a little stronger?

[Shuusei gestures vaguely to Izumo's glass with a big old smile. He might not know why he's interested but after a hard days work he feels like he deserves a drink.]

[Upon the arrival of the other man, Izumo glances over and raises an eyebrow. Definitely not someone he's seen before, but he won't protest to his company for now.

He glances down at his glass, lifting it a bit.]

It's wine. Care to try?

[Where as everyone here is new to Shuusei. He takes the offer though.]

Sure. I guess this is a reward for a job well done, right?

[He waits for Izumo to offer up the glass before taking a sip and handing it back.]

[As he takes his glass back, Izumo chuckles.]

Right.

[Izumo gestures to the table.] You're not going to eat?

[latentforlife]

I'm hungry, I'm just trying to get settled in first. You know?

[Hell, Shuusei doesn't even know. Everything is new and even the vaguely familiar doesn't make sense.]

Maybe I was a picky eater.

[toremainbehind]

Being picky is always a reasonable option.

[But then Izumo sips his wine, eying him.]

So you're new here then. [Not a question, more of an acknowledgment.] How're you liking it so far?

[latentforlife]

What's there to like? Or hate?

[Getting thrown into things was an experience but other than that he has very little to go off of. Other than he's uneasy.]

I suppose it's nice to have a purpose.

[toremainbehind]

It depends on your tastes.

[He hums a bit.]

I suppose it is. Though, if this is your first day here, then it's quite awful timing.

I guess, though I really don't think there's any good timing when it comes to death.

[He's not exceptionally bitter. He doesn't have a perspective to be bitter. Maybe it was something long suffering and he's better off. Maybe he did something stupid and had it coming.

Shuusei's not bitter, he's just not happy.]

[Tilting his head to the side, Izumo studies him before he departs briefly.

Barely a minute later, he returns and hands over a glass of--what he believes to be strong liquor, anyway.]

Well, a few good drinks should be enough to help with that.

[At least the other wasn't here during the many attacks that's occurred.]

[No this is a way to make friends. Shuusei thought at first he might have offended the other. But when Izumo comes back with more liquore, Shuusei can't help but smile.

Taking what is offered, he nods to his new friend.]

I guess being dead isn't all bad.

[And Shuusei takes a drink from the liquor. He makes a bit of a face at first then laughs. The warmth flows into him and relaxes his troubling thoughts.]

So, you've been here a while?

[toremainbehind]

[He smiles, almost a smirk.]

You'll get to enjoy all the new perks it comes with.

[He just hopes that Shuusei isn't a lightweight. That'd be terrible to explain to his god or shinki.]

Yeah, a few months now.

[latentforlife]

[Unfortunate news for Izumo. Shuusei takes another pull from his drink.]

Perks, huh?

[Another drink.]

So, are you a god or one of us?

[He's been here barely a day, so "one of us" doesn't really fit well. Still, Shuusei's smile iss getting a bit wider as his glass gets a bit emptier.]

[Don't drink it so fast...]

Whether you can make use of them or not is up to you, of course. [As well as discovering everything else that comes along with being a shinki...

But the next question answers his own.]

I'm a shinki.

[latentforlife]

[Can't stop. Won't stop.

He continues to sip at his drink, then nods at those answers.]

I guess I'll have to figure that all out. Also, I know where shinki and all, but that doesn't mean we're necessarily all on the same team right? Or are all shinki best friends?

[He has a god he can pester with these questions but honestly a more experienced shinki might be his best bet.

Oh, and he finishes that glass.]

[It almost physically pains him to see someone practically gulp down their drink, especially if it contains alcohol, but he holds his tongue from commenting on it.

He raises an eyebrow, though.]

No, it doesn't mean we're on the same team. There are some shinki here who might be enemies and some who might have fallen enough to become an ayakashi.

[Considering his current smile and the fact he is a bit flushed, downing it that fast is probably not a great idea. Still, it goes down smooth and he's not complaining.]

Well, I guess I'll just have to keep an eye out then.

[Still, he's okay with accepting drinks from strangers.]

So, who do you work for around here?

[Briefly, he considers whether or not to get the other man another drink.

Maybe he'll just pass out?]

It'd be a good idea, too.

[How can you accept random drinks? What if he spiked it?]

Ah, my god is Thanatos. What about you?

[latentforlife]

[Being dead, he's a little more trusting at the moment. That'll change quick.]

Oh, uh, Surtr. I'm not sure what sort of life I had to end up with a god like that but I think I can run with it.

[toremainbehind]

[Izumo chuckles.]

As long as the two of you get along fine, it shouldn't be anything to worry about. [He hopes, anyway.]

I'll take your word for that.

[He hopes so too but he's also feeling really good right now.]

[toremainbehind]

[Should he consider or...]

Do you want another drink?

[latentforlife]

Yes!

[A bit too enthusiastic there. He even reaches out to slap Izumo on the shoulder.]

I really think I am going to like this afterlife thing.

[toremainbehind]

[The slap was a bit unexpected, but it does earn Shusei a laugh.]

Alright, let me grab you another one, then.

[And if he comes across Shusei's God, well, he'll just explain the other had just one too many drinks.]

[He nods and leans back against the wall to relax, and possibly keep the world steady.]
