What: Time to go shopping! Because no one wants to walk around in the clothes they died in.

As usual for warm weather, the streets are bustling with all sorts of people. Hopefully everyone going along for this little venture can find each other.... Or don't and just cause shenanigans on your own. That's fine too.

The second rule of shopping is always assume you can haggle down to the price you want. Know your leverage and then milk it.

Do you think they’d take me seriously if I tried?

They better if you're being serious yourself! We're the customers aren't we? It's our money. If we don't like what they're offering we can walk away.

[Taking it in, she curls her fingers around herself. So far, she’s tried deceivingly cute and honestly blunt on people, but she’s not sure she’s ever tried serious on people.]

Would you mind if I watched you do it first? I want to make sure I get it right.

Okay! It's done like this.

[Nami gathers up half her pile of clothing, and it's truly a wonder she can carry it all, as it seems at least five times her own body mass, but carry it all she does, and drops it on the counter by the register. She grins sweetly at the clerk.]

All of this please! Hey, can't you cut me a deal though? Look how much I'm buying!

[The clerk hesitates.] Ahh, Miss, I'm not sure I'm authorized to--

[Nami smacks her hand on the counter and chirps.]

All right! 80% off it is!

[Raptly, Wendy pays attention, and finds herself almost immediately admiring the older woman’s confidence. She’s not sure if she’ll be able to do it exactly like that, but there definitely has to be some way…]

[The clerk, meanwhile, positively balks.]

"I can't do that...!"

What are you talking about?! Are you saying I don't deserve wholesale prices with this much being purchased?

"I mean, even going wholesale, that's--"

[Nami leaves the clerk there at the register, picks up the other half of the mountain, and adds it to the counter.]

There. I doubled my purchase. Give me 90% off!

[Oooooh, things are getting dramatic now. Surely if she knew about the phrase or activity, Wendy would wish for popcorn, but instead she just keeps her hands to her mouth and keeps watching.]

[After two more minutes of arguing with the clerk, the manager approaches and Nami argues with her, too. After a long struggle, Nami leaves the mountain of clothes at the register in a huff and goes back to Wendy.]

Let's leave. This place has no idea how to treat a valuable customer! I refuse to buy anything, and you should too.

[Who needs magical things like the internet when this kind of drama is happening in real life? Wendy hides her giggling behind one hand and trails after Nami, not looking back.]

Maybe it’d be better with an open marketplace, or something like that.

[Nami doesn't look back either. Out she walks with her head held high, leading the way.]

That's right! We'll check the competition instead. This can't be the only place around with cute things.

[That has her perking right up, skipping a little so that she’s not let behind. Being so short is so troublesome…]

I mean, in a big city like this, there have to be a lot of places!

[Yeah she's getting pumped up, and scoping the landscape beyond the storefront for a promising alternative.]

Well, I think you'll have an easier time spotting them than me....

[Even when she stands on the tips of her toes, she can't really see over any of the crowds in the street.]

[With her hand over her brows as a sunshade, it's just a few moments before she brightens and points.]
