[Forrest has never had a sleepover before, so he's pretty excited to host one at his temple. He sends out invitations ahead of time to everyone he can think of, letting them know to bring pajamas, snacks, and even a friend or two if they want. He's clad in a frilly pink nightgown with ribbons and bows for the occasion, and he's temporarily converted Lakshmi's audience chamber into a space where the guests can all party and sleep. It was already mostly full of pillows to begin with, so all he had to do was move some more in and set up some tables for snacks and things. One of the tables conspicuously contains all of his beauty supplies, because like hell is Forrest hosting a slumber party without makeovers. Anyone who shows even the slightest bit of interest will get their makeup, hair, or nails done. Soft music and the scent of lotus blossoms drift through the air, creating the perfect atmosphere for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves.]

((OOC: If you've got a teenager that Forrest has talked to more than once, assume he invited them. Friends of friends are totally welcome as well. Everyone can feel free to put up their own toplevels, and everybody tag everybody and mingle to your heart's content!))

Kairi is dressed in Pajama that are green and yellow and pink swirls like someone dunked all the paint colors on top of water and swirled them around almost in a paisley-floral pattern. Her top has a ruffle around the shoulders and it goes past her waistline, where she also has a pair of pants - with pockets, bless - to match. On her feet she has warm slippers with a back on them so she can freely walk around without tripping over her own feet.

Mingle: Snacks and music and other atmospheric things

[Kairi definitely does her best to walk around and find wallflowers who don't want to get involved with the very obvious focus of Forrest's - the hair and makeup - especially if she invited them. She'll try to make conversation over snacks and about the music or comment on someone's cute PJ's or just try to point out other people she knows that the other person might get along with. It's a time to make friends, after all!]

Aesthetics: Makeup and Hair and Nails, Oh My

[Naturally she didn't have to bring anything because Forrest would have plenty, but she DOES try to bring some barrettes that are star-shaped and some circles and some other more... gender-neutral kinds of ornaments that might make things more fun for the boys and girls both who don't normally do this kind of thing. Heck SHE doesn't even do hair and makeup and nails as often as Forrest does, but she's doing it tonight since it's a party. She'll definitely draw in some cautious onlookers with promises to be gentle if they just want to try one or two things.]

[There's a pause as she thinks about Kairi, thinks about her friendly, bubbly nature and frowns.]

[ohmygod this is so exciting.

[Aya has had sleepovers before, of course: just not as many as she'd have liked and they always involved far more supervision than she felt was entirely appropriate. It was really hard to do fun things like varnish your nails if your father felt you weren't really supposed to be thinking about that yet and you had to wipe it all off before you went home. She's brought her own make-up and nail varnish collection, in the spirit of sharing and not being gross with other people's powder puffs and things, and if someone can tell her what all the brushes she's just bought are actually for that would be awesome too...

[She didn't know what she was expecting. Girls, really. A bedroom. Snacks, perhaps...

[This is an entirely different scale, quite literally. And the best thing about it is that even if someone - like, say, Ran - had tried to object to her being here, she had the perfect excuse. Goddess of Dreams, right? Overseeing successful sleepovers is quite literally her job.]

[Kairi hears Aya's voice and spins around to face her, then gives it up for a good cause and just hugs her instead.]

[Kairi got enough polite refusals on the BBS that she just set her expectations very low. When she pulls back she smiles broadly at her friend.]

If it makes you feel any better, I didn't know either! Forrest just said I could invite my friends and well... as you can see, we're very happy with the final turnout!

[She pulls Aya to the side and whispers in her ear.]

I was honestly so worried that not a lot of people would show up, but Forrest put so much effort into it, I wanted him to have a nice party and if everyone gets to meet more people, then so much the better, right?

[She's incredibly pleased and it's clear she considers Forrest a good friend.]

[At some point in the evening when Kairi isn't busy with her own makeovers, Forrest calls her over to the little fashion station he has set up in the other corner.]

[Briefly holding one of his many bottles of polish up to compare it to her hair, he nods to himself before reaching out to gently slide her slippers off of her feet. And before getting started with her nails, he starts to give her a little massage to get her nice and relaxed first.]

[There's a taller, blue-haired girl drawn by curiosity while Kairi is going through all of the things she'd brought. Natsuru had worn some of her cutest pajamas today, and kept her hip-length hair tied in a loose ponytail instead of her usual style. But she hadn't thought to bring any of her own cosmetics or hair accessories.]

[Brandon here is very much a wallflower. He's not avoiding the party entirely, just particular people and anyone who might be holding makeup or trying to move him in the direction of makeup. Or hair dye; he doesn't know if there's any at the party, but he's not taking any chances.

He's even sort of dressed for the occassion--inasmuch as striped pajama bottoms and a t-shirt qualifies.

Kairi is safe, though. Or seems so. He doesn't really know more than her name, but that's more than he can say for most people. She doesn't have to find him, he's seeking her out first.]
