Sleepover!
Who: Forrest, all of his teenage CR, and CR of that CR
What: Giant sleepover log
When: The night of June 21
Where: Lakshmi's temple
Warnings: Cuteness overload
[Forrest has never had a sleepover before, so he's pretty excited to host one at his temple. He sends out invitations ahead of time to everyone he can think of, letting them know to bring pajamas, snacks, and even a friend or two if they want. He's clad in a frilly pink nightgown with ribbons and bows for the occasion, and he's temporarily converted Lakshmi's audience chamber into a space where the guests can all party and sleep. It was already mostly full of pillows to begin with, so all he had to do was move some more in and set up some tables for snacks and things. One of the tables conspicuously contains all of his beauty supplies, because like hell is Forrest hosting a slumber party without makeovers. Anyone who shows even the slightest bit of interest will get their makeup, hair, or nails done. Soft music and the scent of lotus blossoms drift through the air, creating the perfect atmosphere for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves.]
((OOC: If you've got a teenager that Forrest has talked to more than once, assume he invited them. Friends of friends are totally welcome as well. Everyone can feel free to put up their own toplevels, and everybody tag everybody and mingle to your heart's content!))

I don't know how to describe what it's like really... but I do like it a lot!
[She starts brushing out Natsuru's hair.]
It's like living with six brothers. They come and go all the time, we keep in touch over text a lot, we don't see everyone at once hardly ever, but I can catch them individually pretty often for the most part.
no subject
Hibiki-kun was kind of like a brother too, I think. I don't remember if I ever had any.
[She starts to relax more, letting any remaining tension or awkwardness melt away while Kairi brushes her hair out.]
I don't know if I could handle living with that many boys. I feel like it'd be easier just having one or two sisters. Or just... any kind of siblings...
[She doesn't know why her brain defaulted to 'sisters'.]
no subject
I don't know, I kind of like it. No one teases me about why I don't wear make-up more often or if I should be wearing a skirt or shorts or a dress, or why I randomly decided to wear a cute barrette one day and nothing the next. I'm just me.
[Although she does look over at Forrest when she says that.]
I think that's part of the reason I can treat other people the same way, not caring what they decide to wear if it makes them happy.
no subject
[She supposes that applies to Forrest, too. Even though he's a boy, he clearly loves being pretty. But mostly she's thinking of herself, and everything she's learned from girls she felt were more experienced in this sort of thing since arriving here.]
... I guess some people might think girls always have to look a certain way, but...
[The words "Fuck 'em" in Kainé's voice ring somewhere in the back of her mind. It makes her actually blush that she'd thought it at all, even as the echo of a memory.]
We're... not doing it for them. We do it for us. I think.
[She started out so awkward, but that's a pretty confident assertion at the end right there. Before she ruined it with the 'I think'. Still, certain people may not have been here long, but they sure raised her right in her first weeks.]
no subject
I'm glad you think that way, Natsuru. That's why I don't do it more often, honestly. I don't like doing it for myself.
[Then she leans back up.]
On the other hand, this is an event that a friend of mine is putting on. So, no I don't mind putting on makeup now. Same thing if I was going to go out to a fancier party or a ball or something like that. So... I don't know, in those cases it isn't for myself, but because it's for a friend it's okay, at least to me.
[Or maybe that's something to do with the overly fond smile on her face.]
no subject
Yeah...
I don't think it's bad doing it for someone else, if it's someone you care about. That's different.
[Little does she know she's tripping over something she should be picking up on. Those glances in Forrest's direction haven't gone unnoticed, Natsuru's just not perceptive enough to guess at an actual reason.]
no subject
Exactly.
[Because she's not about to deny that she's cares about Forrest as a friend, or Roxas, or Sora, or anyone else she goes the extra distance for.]
Is there anyone here you've gotten that close to? I know it's harder for us as shinki - like maybe your god?
[It's the first thing she jumps to thinking about after those anonymous messages about it.]
no subject
W-Well, Maria-sama's important to me! And... I think we're pretty close. But it's not...
[She hums thoughtfully, buying herself time to finish that thought.]
It's like... we're family now. And I have some friends that are really important to me, too.
But no one... that close. Not yet.
[Whether Kairi meant it this way or not, Natsuru's meaning of "that close" is clear from her tone. The 'not yet' is almost wistful, too... she's not opposed to the idea by any stretch. But it is difficult to meet someone like that, as a shinki. Or perhaps she already has her eye on someone and they haven't noticed her yet?]
How about you?
[Kairi reminds her a little of Masaki already, and talking about this sort of thing was always easy with her.]
no subject
[She does smile just as wistfully at Natsuru's question.]
I did ask someone out, actually. Kind of.
[It's complicated. So complicated. Way more than she'd ever like, but that's what being a shinki is all about.]
I'm working on getting Big Brother Roxas's permission first - after a dinner, the three of us talking and all.
[She's nervous. Anxious and excited, but nervous.]
no subject
[Oh no, this is her first time hearing about a friend asking someone out! Is it really okay to ask-]
Who was it?!
[... Okay, never mind. Her mouth seemed to think it was okay without consulting her brain first. At least she's keeping her voice down.]
no subject
If you can keep a secret...
[But without waiting for an answer, she very subtly points over to a tall, tan brunette hanging out among the partygoers in a bathrobe, then continues in a whisper.]
Do you know him?
[It's Lance.]
no subject
[She motions towards Lance as subtly as she can manage. She's not hiding her interest very well, though. Hopefully, she doesn't get caught looking.]
I don't think so. Who is he?
Wrap/fadeout on my end
[Kairi will continue to recount stories about Lance for a little while.]
Lance and I exchanged numbers on my very first day and set our contact names to be silly things too, like my name in his phone is Kairi Pretty Name...
[And so on.]
