Summary: So many shrines have popped up! Go visit your homelands!



The Heavens have received reports of many shrines to the "new gods" they are harboring appearing all over the world. These shrines seem to be additional, new shrines to those gods. Older shrines to those gods still exist, but these ones are shiny, new, and way more compatible with the "new gods". God characters, as well, will have felt the sudden pull towards their homelands and be compelled to travel to them. But the Heavens have taken it a step farther, offering the Meeting Hall as a place for gods and shinki to group up and go out for the day to the various places that are now calling out to them.

Please ignore the fact that they are mostly doing this so that you all will collect information for them without their begging for it or having to reward you.



Meeting Hall

The Meeting Hall is being used as a sort of hub right now. Any groups that are planning to meet up and travel together can meet here, but you might also find someone who's going somewhere you'd like to and tag along with them. Additionally, the Heavens have provided packed lunches for everyone to take with them, should they desire to. This also serves as a meeting place for all of the new gods and shinki.

Locals

Local pantheons have been alerted to the impending visitors. They are happy to welcome their brethren home and are likely to make a big fuss about their brothers and sisters staying with them. Local gods are welcome to be interpreted however you would like, just be sure not to NPC any god that is already taken by a god player. Also, you may find yourself running into some local spirits during your sight-seeing - including local ayakashi and various folklore spirits.

Flyers

They may not stick out at first, but those who are paying attention will notice that there are a large number of flyers being left around at their new shrines. Heck, even walking through the human towns, you will find flyers scattered on the ground and pinned to cork boards and nailed to telephone poles. All bear the same message: "Down with the Heavens. Down with Amaterasu." The locals gods are well versed in the flyers, saying that there have been some strange characters around throwing these flyers at anyone who will give them the time of day. Even humans will note that some shady-looking people have been putting up these strange posters.

Destruction

Whether you return early because of boredom, never left because you're uninterested, or late because you've been having fun, the middle of the night will bring an interesting sight to all. The Heavens will find themselves under attack - in the form of a large fire set at the temple of Amaterasu herself. The entire home is going up in flames and no one knows where Amaterasu is. They're asking for help in dousing the fire or even entering the burning home to find the small goddess and possibly look for the saboteurs, though the only people who are still around are Amaterasu's shinki, in varying states of distress and consciousness.

Note: Who will discover Amaterasu will be decided randomly on 3/20/17 OOC. At that point, a follow-up post will be made by Amaterasu herself.

Meeting Hall

[This place is unfamiliar and while Johan was told this is where gods and shinki meet, it's a shame he doesn't get to meet his own shinki aside from getting a soulless one.

Not. That he's sure what to do with it.

Ruby nudges his cheek, a soft coo, and he chuckles.] Yeah, let's go look around.

[It's not very long before he notices Yona and he makes his way over to her.]

Are you okay?

[ She startles a little at his arrival, having been distracted by searching through the crowd, but she offers him a sheepish sort of smile at his inquiry, reaching up to tuck a stray curl behind her ear. ]

Other than very confused? I think so. I'm afraid this is all... very overwhelming.

[rainbowmaster]

[He immediately gives her a warming smile.]

It is, isn't it?

[His smile shifts into a light grin.]

But my name is Johan. What about yours?

[darkestbefore]

[ With his easy agreement, some of her trepidation also fades away as she inclines her head with a smile. ]

I'm Yona. Or... perhaps I should introduce myself as Áine now? I'm not sure what is custom for this place, I'm afraid.

[rainbowmaster]

I don't think there are any particular customs.

[That he knows of, anyway.] But is it alright if I call you Yona?

[darkestbefore]

[ where she once might have hesitated, she now just smiles, well accustomed to it. A dip of her head in a nod of agreement. ] It is, I don't mind. And it's... Johan? [ A somewhat strange sounding name to her ears, but then everything has seemed very foreign since finding herself here. ]

Are you familiar with this place? Have you been here long? [ because most people she's encountered so far seem to share in her fate of having been caught up and brought here from elsewhere. ]

[rainbowmaster]

It is.

[He smiles a bit sheepishly, shaking his head.]

No, I just got here myself.

[darkestbefore]

[ A flicker of surprise crosses her face, because that's the first time she's gotten that answer so far. ]

Oh, my. I'm sorry. It seems as if I was not the only one brought her unexpectedly today, then.

[rainbowmaster]

Ah, no need to apologize. It can be confusing here.

[Like seeing an old friend for example who shouldn't have died—]

Have you met your shinki yet?

[darkestbefore]

[ Yona shakes her head slightly, a slight frown on her face as she glances about the room. ]

No, not yet, although I've been told I have one here somewhere, and that I will know them when I find them. Have you met yours yet?

[rainbowmaster]

Ah, I don't have a shinki.

[Here, he musters up something akin to a sheepish grin.]

But I hope you find yours soon.

[darkestbefore]

Oh! [ She looks surprised by this, fingers lifting to press against her lips. ] I'm sorry. I shouldn't have assumed.

Do you know anything about the duties as god you've been given? Or the god they belonged to?

[rainbowmaster]

It's alright. I'm not too bothered by it.

[A pause before Johan shakes his head.]

Afraid not. The Messengers haven't really been informative other than telling me I'm now an Aztec god named Tonatiuh.

[darkestbefore]

Aztec...? [ Another land or people she's never heard of, and another god that is both strange and foreign to her. She frowns slightly, her gaze drifting around her surroundings. ]

This really is a long way from home.

[rainbowmaster]

It is, isn't it?

[But even so, Johan keeps up the smile.]

But we can't let this get us down. There's still plenty to learn about this place.

[darkestbefore]

[ The reminder has her pushing away her frown with a flicker of surprise before she smiles at him once more, grateful. ]

You're right. Making the best of it while we're here seems to be the wisest course of action for the time being. [ Since it seemed they were stuck and she preferred to believe that maybe there was a reason she was here now. Even if she didn't know what it was yet. ] Looking at it as a learning experience might make it a little easier to bear. An adventure, of sorts? Although I have to say this is quite the fantastic start to a story, even in the lands I come from.

[His smile turns into a grin.]

Exactly.

I'd say you should look at this as a sort of adventure. Who knows; you may be able to use your experience here to write your own story one day.

[darkestbefore]

My experience? [ She blinks, looking startled, before her cheeks flush slightly and she's quick to shake her head. ] Ah, I don't think anything I could do would be all that interesting. perhaps the others here, though. They seem to have pulled a great many interesting people from some very unique places, haven't they?

[rainbowmaster]

[Johan shakes his head.]

Yeah, but they all have different experiences and besides, what makes you think your experience wouldn't be as interesting as compared to others?

[darkestbefore]

[ It gets a rueful smile from her as she lifts one shoulder in a half-hearted shrug. ]

Just that I don't think I'm the sort anyone would write stories about. Especially when there are much more interesting people here.

[Ah. He smiles slightly.]

You never know, Yona. After all, it'd be good to have stories on everyone, regardless if they're interesting or not.

[darkestbefore]

[ She laughs softly at that, giving him a warm smile but not arguing further. ]

That seems like an awful lot of stories, doesn't it? Who would have time to hear or read them all?

[rainbowmaster]

I would.

But I just like stories in general.

[darkestbefore]

[ Her smile softens at that. ]

As do I, even if I've not had much time to enjoy them, before being brought here.
