Summary: So many shrines have popped up! Go visit your homelands!



The Heavens have received reports of many shrines to the "new gods" they are harboring appearing all over the world. These shrines seem to be additional, new shrines to those gods. Older shrines to those gods still exist, but these ones are shiny, new, and way more compatible with the "new gods". God characters, as well, will have felt the sudden pull towards their homelands and be compelled to travel to them. But the Heavens have taken it a step farther, offering the Meeting Hall as a place for gods and shinki to group up and go out for the day to the various places that are now calling out to them.

Please ignore the fact that they are mostly doing this so that you all will collect information for them without their begging for it or having to reward you.



Meeting Hall

The Meeting Hall is being used as a sort of hub right now. Any groups that are planning to meet up and travel together can meet here, but you might also find someone who's going somewhere you'd like to and tag along with them. Additionally, the Heavens have provided packed lunches for everyone to take with them, should they desire to. This also serves as a meeting place for all of the new gods and shinki.

Locals

Local pantheons have been alerted to the impending visitors. They are happy to welcome their brethren home and are likely to make a big fuss about their brothers and sisters staying with them. Local gods are welcome to be interpreted however you would like, just be sure not to NPC any god that is already taken by a god player. Also, you may find yourself running into some local spirits during your sight-seeing - including local ayakashi and various folklore spirits.

Flyers

They may not stick out at first, but those who are paying attention will notice that there are a large number of flyers being left around at their new shrines. Heck, even walking through the human towns, you will find flyers scattered on the ground and pinned to cork boards and nailed to telephone poles. All bear the same message: "Down with the Heavens. Down with Amaterasu." The locals gods are well versed in the flyers, saying that there have been some strange characters around throwing these flyers at anyone who will give them the time of day. Even humans will note that some shady-looking people have been putting up these strange posters.

Destruction

Whether you return early because of boredom, never left because you're uninterested, or late because you've been having fun, the middle of the night will bring an interesting sight to all. The Heavens will find themselves under attack - in the form of a large fire set at the temple of Amaterasu herself. The entire home is going up in flames and no one knows where Amaterasu is. They're asking for help in dousing the fire or even entering the burning home to find the small goddess and possibly look for the saboteurs, though the only people who are still around are Amaterasu's shinki, in varying states of distress and consciousness.

Note: Who will discover Amaterasu will be decided randomly on 3/20/17 OOC. At that point, a follow-up post will be made by Amaterasu herself.

[Loki grimaces at the whole scenario. He hadn't come to Delphi to hear his fortune. Honestly, far from it. He just wanted to talk to his fellow gods! Since he was on the waiting list for soul-filled shinki, he was pretty much alone in this new pantheon.

Also, this person is the very definition of extra, as mortals would say.]

My thanks, but I must decline that offer. I'm a bit fed up with fate and I understand that you can fulfill grim Greek prophecies just by listening to them. Last thing I need today in this auspicious new beginning.

Anyway, the fact that he's declining doesn't seem to bother her. ] Indeed. Mortal name Shikyoin Hibiki.

[Everyone speaks extra stuffy and classic in the Asgardian realm, but he likes spicing it up with human teen slang and internet lingo. Because he's really cool, you see.]

I would be the new Hermes! I lack a mortal name since I wasn't one to begin with, unless we count this alternate universe where I was a human boy, but anyway... I was called Loki, which I understand will be confusing here. The pleasure is mutual.

[ The same way Hibiki's first shinki is "Venus", perhaps. It seems this world is greedy when it comes to its harvests. And made this one switch pantheons, which just seems wrong.

Either way, nothing to do with her, doesn't really phase her. ] Quite the shift in responsibilities.

[He sighs. He's not free from the stigma in this universe, either.] Alas, perhaps I should stop giving away my name, as people will have preconceived ideas about me. I am not that kind of evil Loki, so this shift suits me just fine! I love the entire specter of communications.

There's nothing wrong with making use of one's cleverness, either.

[ Since - who said anything about evil? If you can get away with bucking the system, do so. If you can't, don't. This is the path of history - it only gets to be called a "revolution" if you've got the skills to win it. ]

Still, people think of the name Loki in evil terms in his universe so he always covers his back. Is HE evil? He has proven he's not, to himself and the nine worlds. But yes, he's all for winning and helping with change with underhanded methods. He's been in a revolution before, sort of.]

I am! I'm checking out the more touristic temples before setting to Mount Cyllene in Arcadia, now Corinthia. I got tons of souvenirs and various trinkets from Athens!

[ She doesn't answer the pronoun question, in part because it is all the same to her. As long as you address her with the proper respect, Hibiki is Hibiki. Other people's perceptions of her gender couldn't matter less. ]

Are you certain you wouldn't like a prophecy to take as a memento of Delphi, then? It'd make a personalized souvenir.

[ Hibiki, "souvenir" has made it into several other languages now. Loki used it himself. There is no need to say it with a Prench accent.

You have to be a tourist in a land of tourism. When in Rome... Well, wrong ancient civilization but you get it.

...I honestly want to keep the surprise, not to come to this role with preconceptions or prophecies. Unless yours sticks to mild subjects, such as "it's foretold that Loki, now Hermes, shall have bacon and scrambled eggs for breakfast in the morrow!"

Hibiki muses over these limitations, however, idly amused by the challenge. ] What about...."You will make the role your own"?

[ This is a safe guess, given his attitude. And something she imagines he'd like to hear. ]

Tourism is actually this country's biggest source of income. And maybe olive oil and yogurt...? I should try the yogurt. As Hermes, I should support the economy.

[This actually makes him laugh in chuckles.] Touché. That is indeed a fitting prophecy, and vague enough that it doesn't chain me to any side. Nicely done, sibling!

[ ...He's fond enough of trivia to be Hermes. Well played, universe. This one got assigned better than Athena. Certainly better than Artemis.

Apollo remains, of course, the most apt.

Hibiki smirks in pleased confidence that her prophecy had been as well-received as, well, prophesied. ] I guarantee its accuracy.

[ Master Apollo can even predict the future for other gods! The oracles sigh dreamily. A few need to find columns against which to rest their backs. What a day....It's overwhelming how marvelous Master Apollo is. ]

[She looks way too pleased with herself. Note to self: ego strokes and compliments might be a good way to be in big sibling's favor.]

Don't say it like that because I can still blame you and your vagueness if it turns out wrong and I make the worst choices. At least that's what I think plenty of ancient Greeks did? Blaming Delphi? Nevermind if some guy becomes the most elaborate theater meme in history after he killed the wrongest man and married the wrongest woman.

Only hers involves far less use of the word "meme". ] Such is the role of a god, is it not? To remove the pressures of everyday life. Given the clamor inherent in this world full of lies and falsehood, such stress relief is necessary for a properly-functioning society.

Of course, we must also do our best to shine.

Is it really? [He cocks an eyebrow.] In my universe they just do as they please, but you may have a point about gods in this one. We do seem more oriented to serve mortals in order to gain valuable faith, from what they told me.

[ And let no one tell you it was William Shakespriere who coined that. Nope. It was none other than Shikyoin Hibiki.

The oracles are so overwhelmed, they present Hibiki with a worshipful cup of tea. Which she lifts in Loki's general direction. ]

May you perform your role brilliantly until the final curtain call.

More than a stage, I like to see it more like a book. Regardless, it's still story.

Same to you, brother-sister. [He takes a dramatic bow.] Although it seems you have it under control. [Still, a bit unfair her main Greek temple comes with minions. It seems being a seer pays off.] Are you staying the rest of the visit day in this duty?

If the audience wishes. [ The audience looks just about ready to ascend to Heaven on the sheer bliss of having her around. She could be balancing plates on her head and they'd likely still gobble it up.

As-is, however, she's looking cozy on this throne. Or, well. The regal equivalent. ]
