005 | Sakura In The Night

Summary: Heaven is throwing a small party to view the sakura and let everyone relax.



After the absolute disaster that happened with handing out chocolates, the Heavens are tripping over themselves to make up for their inability to properly handle the situation. They are eager to make amends and assure everyone that they are hardworking individuals who want nothing more than to make everyone's stay here enjoyable or at least pleasant. To that end, they have invited all of the gods and shinki to a lovely flower viewing, since the sakura are in season.

And by 'invited', they mean 'mandatory', of course. You will accept their apology, whether you like it or not.

It's not all bad, though. The Heavens have provided various kimonos that can be worn, if you haven't brought your own, but you're not required to wear a kimono. They would, however, really like it if you did wear them. It's very traditionally Japanese, after all.

The party is taking place at night so that you can all hide your merrymaking from the Near Shore residents and also because the night sky is beautiful against the cherry blossoms. So try to at least enjoy yourselves while you're here.



Banquet

Every kind of food imaginable is available for your eating pleasure. On top of that, there are dozens of different kinds of desserts ready to be devoured as well. For the older crowd, booze has been provided and is being served by white-clad shinki bearing the golden chrysanthemum of Amaterasu. They are, however, refusing to serve alcohol to anyone who looks too young to drink, sorry guys.

Cherry Blossoms

The blossoms are absolutely gorgeous this year, and they are at the peak of their blooming right now. Nearly every single bud has bloomed and the pink petals are floating by everywhere you go. There is an ethereal light emanating from each of the trees, lighting up the area with a soft, pink light, yet it doesn't seem to be drowning out the brightness of the stars at all. It really is the most beautiful cherry blossom viewing anyone could ever hope for.

"Secret" Corner

Somehow, the Heavens have managed to make one small corner of the grotto into a completely secluded area. There is no marking or signs to indicate what this corner should be used for, but anyone entering it will suddenly realize that this is a place for lovers to meet privately. Only those that you enter the corner with will be able to notice your presence, and you will be unable to notice anyone else's presence as well. Enjoy yourselves, young ones!

Counselling

Off to the side, there is a tiny table set up with a small, nicely written sign that reads "Gentle Counselling". On the other side of the table is a sweetly smiling shinki who is willing to listen to your problems and answer any questions you might have. She is also here to help out any gods that are having a hard time dealing with knowing about how their shinki died and any shinki that is having trouble coming to terms with the fact that they are dead. Counselling will also gladly be offered to anyone who is still pissed off or upset in any way about what happened after White Day.

[Wow this guy is intense when it comes to eating. Doesn't seem to have an end to his stomach either. Ludger is curious, so he's slowly slipping more plates over to the guy.

Why he's doing this? If this guy is a shinki like him, eating as much as he can for fights is necessary. The only thing that Ludger is not thrilled with is the extreme consumption of alcohol.

He's just... curious about how far this guy would go before he was full.]

[Zoro feels the other man close by, and raises an eyebrow, looking at him with his one good eye, as he stuffs a whole bean bun in his mouth.

After he's done chewing it, he takes a drink from his glass, and turns to look at him.]

Ok, what do you want?

[Oops. Caught sort of red handed. Ludger laughs nervously as he rubs the back of his neck. How to explain this...]

Just... curious. You eat a lot.

[wadoichimonji]

[Zoro stares at him, one eyebrow raised, before laughing.]

Free food is always a reason to eat a lot!

[He has the feeling he hasn't always eaten correctly, and he frowns.]

Aren't you gonna eat?

[Ludger would reply with something like "you might get sick", but doubts this guy would even listen to that. There was all sorts of people in this world. Why can't there be black hole-for-a-stomach person?

He laughs sheepishly as he looks down at his own plate. Nowhere near as much food as this guy has eaten. He'll pick at it at least.]

[Zoro stares at him, one eyebrow raised.]

Why aren't you eating anything?

[Somehow it bothers him to see people with food and not eat, he doesn't know why, or where these feelings come from, but he's gonna make sure this guy eats no matter what.]

[.... with a sigh he actually eats a few things. Will that placate you?

But seriously, if you want him to eat more, go ahead and make him eat. Ludger looks like he can use it anyways.]

[Zoro laughs, putting his plate down.]

Do you even like what you're eating?

[He looks around the table, glancing at Ludger's plate a couple of times, before picking up a bun, looks like coconut. He offers it to Ludger, a smile on his face.]

Here, try this. What's your favourite food?

[You're talking to the least picky person at this party. Even if it's a stranger handing him food, he nods his thanks and tries it..... not bad.

Though is he has to pick a favorite...]

Tomatoes.

[It's a safe way to go.]

[Zoro nods, and looks around the table.]

Don't move.

[He goes to the other side of the table, picking a whole plate up, and bringing it back to Ludger in record time.]

Here, eat it.

[It's a salad, caprese but Zoro wouldn't know that, made with tomatoes and cheese as the main ingredients.]

[Ludger looks so confused right now. Why was this guy with the green hair telling him not to move?

When the salad gets put in front of him, it makes a lot more sense. He can't help but smile and nod his thanks. Time to eat!

.... This is pretty good!]

[Zoro laughs, watching the guy eat.]

So you like that eh? Gotta feed you, you look like you need it.

[He looks around the table some more, trying to see if he spots tomatoes on anything else.]

Do you like'em cooked, or just raw like those?

[...... Ludger looks down at himself.

Was he... that skinny? Now he feels self-conscious...]

B-Both.

[wadoichimonji]

Ok, don't move. [He starts walking away before coming back.] Eat, actually.

[He leaves Ludger for a moment, taking longer than the first time, but coming back with a small plate with a few different foods.]

They had some pasta with tomato sauce, and some chicken with tomatoes, it's good, I ate a piece, and oh! Whatever this grain is!

[Couscous. With sun dried tomatoes.]

Here, eat it all up and then you'll be full for the whole night!

[This guy was sure pushy. Ludger should be more suspicious, but... good food makes for good company? Is that how that quote is supposed to go?

He laughs softly as he looks down at the presented dishes. He has no idea where all of these dishes had been hiding, and it makes him strangely happy to have someone want to help him find things to eat. Maybe this guy wasn't so bad...]

[Zoro smiles bight and bright. He feels like he should take care of this guy for some reason, he looks like he could use a friend or two... And maybe a sparring partner.]

What's your name, by the way?

[Ludger is a people person even if he doesn't mean to be. Part of him wants to make friends with everyone he meets, but there's a lot of people he can already tell that he will never get along with. His own gods other shinki seems to be one of those people.

Oh well. Maybe he can make friends with this guy.]

Ludger Kresnik. You?

[Zoro smiles, big and bright, without a single care in the world.]

Roronoa Zoro!

[He blinks, staring at Ludger, and then smiles.]

You look really nice, I like you.

[Whoa. Whoa, whoa, whoa. How is Ludger supposed to take a statement like that? Was this 'potential friend' like or 'this guy is going to hit on me' like?

Zoro seemed strange enough that Ludger is.... going to be wondering what that means until they get to know each other better.]

[Zoro laughs, eating a whole chicken leg right after.]

What's up? That's... Quite a face.

[soindebt]

[Okay....... he's going with the former. Definitely the former. Ludger shakes his head as he takes a deep breath.]

It's nothing.

[wadoichimonji]

[Zoro raises an eyebrow, curious.]

If you say so.

[He grabs whatever is closest to him, inspects it, then eats it all in one bite. When he's done he looks at Ludger again, smiling.]

I wanted to ask you... Are you a god?

[soindebt]

[He really, really does not know what to do. It must be rather obvious. He's not even sure if he's ever met someone like this when he was alive. Since there were no memories, he can't think back, and it was frustrating.

The question is met with another shake of his head. Definitely not a god.]

[wadoichimonji]

[Zoro nods.]

So you're like me, then.

[He grabs a sweet from the table, sakura mochi, and eats a piece. He offers some to Ludger.]

Sweet and sticky, wanna try?

[So many shinki's he gets to meet. All of them so unique, and all of them very strange...

Ludger knows he must seems strange to them, too. He nods as he takes the treat biting into it. Oh! This was super sweet... Roxas would like it!]
