005 | Sakura In The Night

Summary: Heaven is throwing a small party to view the sakura and let everyone relax.



After the absolute disaster that happened with handing out chocolates, the Heavens are tripping over themselves to make up for their inability to properly handle the situation. They are eager to make amends and assure everyone that they are hardworking individuals who want nothing more than to make everyone's stay here enjoyable or at least pleasant. To that end, they have invited all of the gods and shinki to a lovely flower viewing, since the sakura are in season.

And by 'invited', they mean 'mandatory', of course. You will accept their apology, whether you like it or not.

It's not all bad, though. The Heavens have provided various kimonos that can be worn, if you haven't brought your own, but you're not required to wear a kimono. They would, however, really like it if you did wear them. It's very traditionally Japanese, after all.

The party is taking place at night so that you can all hide your merrymaking from the Near Shore residents and also because the night sky is beautiful against the cherry blossoms. So try to at least enjoy yourselves while you're here.



Banquet

Every kind of food imaginable is available for your eating pleasure. On top of that, there are dozens of different kinds of desserts ready to be devoured as well. For the older crowd, booze has been provided and is being served by white-clad shinki bearing the golden chrysanthemum of Amaterasu. They are, however, refusing to serve alcohol to anyone who looks too young to drink, sorry guys.

Cherry Blossoms

The blossoms are absolutely gorgeous this year, and they are at the peak of their blooming right now. Nearly every single bud has bloomed and the pink petals are floating by everywhere you go. There is an ethereal light emanating from each of the trees, lighting up the area with a soft, pink light, yet it doesn't seem to be drowning out the brightness of the stars at all. It really is the most beautiful cherry blossom viewing anyone could ever hope for.

"Secret" Corner

Somehow, the Heavens have managed to make one small corner of the grotto into a completely secluded area. There is no marking or signs to indicate what this corner should be used for, but anyone entering it will suddenly realize that this is a place for lovers to meet privately. Only those that you enter the corner with will be able to notice your presence, and you will be unable to notice anyone else's presence as well. Enjoy yourselves, young ones!

Counselling

Off to the side, there is a tiny table set up with a small, nicely written sign that reads "Gentle Counselling". On the other side of the table is a sweetly smiling shinki who is willing to listen to your problems and answer any questions you might have. She is also here to help out any gods that are having a hard time dealing with knowing about how their shinki died and any shinki that is having trouble coming to terms with the fact that they are dead. Counselling will also gladly be offered to anyone who is still pissed off or upset in any way about what happened after White Day.

Banquet:

[Not only does he get to wear a kimono as soon as he gets here, but there's all kinds of food and booze. He's in heaven.

Zoro is literally eating anything that can fit in his mouth, drinking whatever has been offered to him. It's so obvious the foods the Minks had weren't filling enough, because holy crap he is starving.

And he'll growl at anyone trying to take anything in front of him, doesn't matter that it's a shared table, if you touch his food he'll growl. And complain. And probably demand your booze in return.]

Cherry Blossoms:

[After stuffing himself, Zoro decided it was time to relax, so with a pint of beer in hand he sat down in whichever spot he could to watch the blossomed tree.]

These are really pretty.

[It reminds him of something, but he's not exactly sure what, and he frowns, trying to think about it. All he can picture though...]

... Cherry blossoms on the snow.

[ He looks a little rough around the edges, sure, but Naminé's not one to judge too harshly. She's got her hands wrapped around a mug of tea, and she looks over when he speaks. ]

Mm. It's a nice welcome.

[ She's managed to separate them and the other source of cherry blossoms in her existence, at least. ]

[Zoro wasn't expecting someone to hear him, so he's slightly surprised to see a girl standing near him. She's too bright, sparkling too much or something.]

Yeah...

[That's when he notices the mug, and curiosity spikes.]

What'cha drinking?

[chainbroke]

[ Naminé turns to him, offering the cup to give him a look. ]

Tea. Jasmine, I think.

[ She's never had anything like it, but it helps calm her a bit. ]

[Zoro can feel the aroma fill his nose, and it makes him nostalgic.]

Yeah... That one is supposed to relax... I think.

[He frowns, something is itching at the back of his mind, but he decides to ignore it for now.]

Ever seen flowers like these?

[chainbroke]

[ He might notice, or he might not; either way, her hands tighten around the mug, and she looks down into her cup. ]

A long time ago. But these are prettier.

[wadoichimonji]

[Oh, notice he does. His eye flickers to the girl's hands, but move back to her face right after. His eyebrow is raised in question though.]

[Sonic's barely sat and he's being growled at, what is this?]

Don't you growl at me like that, I could have your head off your shoulders before you could even blink.

[wadoichimonji]

[Zoro stares, and then just laughs. A lot. Loudly.]

You're hilarious!

[He goes to pat Sonic on the back, not really caring if the other dodges or not, before going for a turkey leg on the table.]

My food, don't touch.

[mybadhabit]

[Sonic doesn't only dodge, he complete vanishes, poof, gone, all in the blink of an eye]

[No wait, he's just moved to the other side of the table] Don't touch me. Why would I care about your food? There's plenty here to go around, and then some.

[wadoichimonji]

[Zoro doesn't even bother to look at him.]

Then why are you here? Go find foo somewhere else, dumbass.

[mybadhabit]

I already have my own food. [he holds up his plate, which is laden with spring rolls, sushi, and mochi, but mostly mochi] I just wanted a place to sit.

[wadoichimonji]

[Zoro raises an eyebrow at him.]

Then why do you care if I stand and eat by the table?

[Sheryl is in the middle of a quiet stroll around the trees, the sleeves of her kimono billowing around her with each step. There's a troubled look upon her features, very spooked as a matter of fact, like she'd just seen someone die.

This isn't even the first time she's had visions of death, but this time Eno isn't involved. It's someone else.

And then she turns to look at Zoro with her mouth all agape, gasping in surprise.]

It's you!

[wadoichimonji]

[Zoro looks the girl up and down, raising an eyebrow as he brings his mug to his mouth, taking a long gulp of beer.]

Me, what, girl?

[galactically]

[Don't mind Sheryl as she takes a step back to try and rein in her expression. It can't do her any good if she stares at her new shinki like that, wide eyes and everything.]

You'll be working for me for now on! [Quickly, she clears her throat and smoothes down her kimono.] Well, I mean, has anyone told you about this?

[wadoichimonji]

[Zoro stares at her, and then just laughs. He laughs so hard there's tears on his eye, and he almost spills his beer.]

You're hilarious woman, and told me what?

[galactically]

[Somehow, Sheryl feels like she's being mocked... and so she glares, folding her arms across her bust in a defensive gesture.]

What's so funny? I'm being 100% serious! Don't tell me you didn't know...

[Zoro just blinks, twice, and stares at her.]

What are you talking about, lady?

[Wow this guy is intense when it comes to eating. Doesn't seem to have an end to his stomach either. Ludger is curious, so he's slowly slipping more plates over to the guy.

Why he's doing this? If this guy is a shinki like him, eating as much as he can for fights is necessary. The only thing that Ludger is not thrilled with is the extreme consumption of alcohol.

He's just... curious about how far this guy would go before he was full.]

[Zoro feels the other man close by, and raises an eyebrow, looking at him with his one good eye, as he stuffs a whole bean bun in his mouth.

After he's done chewing it, he takes a drink from his glass, and turns to look at him.]

Ok, what do you want?

[Oops. Caught sort of red handed. Ludger laughs nervously as he rubs the back of his neck. How to explain this...]

Just... curious. You eat a lot.

[wadoichimonji]

[Zoro stares at him, one eyebrow raised, before laughing.]

Free food is always a reason to eat a lot!

[He has the feeling he hasn't always eaten correctly, and he frowns.]

Aren't you gonna eat?

[soindebt]

[Ludger would reply with something like "you might get sick", but doubts this guy would even listen to that. There was all sorts of people in this world. Why can't there be black hole-for-a-stomach person?

He laughs sheepishly as he looks down at his own plate. Nowhere near as much food as this guy has eaten. He'll pick at it at least.]

[Zoro stares at him, one eyebrow raised.]

Why aren't you eating anything?

[Somehow it bothers him to see people with food and not eat, he doesn't know why, or where these feelings come from, but he's gonna make sure this guy eats no matter what.]
