Here

[She nods.]

I see - you know me but I did not know you.

[It happens, but not nearly as often as it keeps happening to her lately.]

Yes, I am she, Miss Eris Oona. In any event, many wishes are considered impossible when they are written on these tanzaku papers. Some believe that their wish cannot be fulfilled by themselves or anyone else unless the desire is written down properly and that hope sent into the universe. I take it you are not one such believer.

[She'd never thought of it that way before, really, and she looks thoughtfully down at her paper and the wish for her mermaid scale back written on it.

It is impossible, she knows (or, she thinks, she's reasonably sure--) but...
] Hope is... nice. Even if there is no chance, the hope that maybe can be strong enough to keep someone living on. [After all, hadn't her hope of escape kept her from falling too deeply into despair and wasting away in her captivity?

But that doesn't really answer Orihime's question, Oona realizes, and she shrugs
] Written down or not, wish is still formed. But suppose it can not be done unless it is, eh... [She pauses and looks a it frustrated, gesturing around the area] Unless it is brought out.

[She finishes the sentence lamely and then looks embarrassed] Eh... My words are... Not so good. Sometimes, is difficult to form them way I want. [It's an apology, of sorts, and she rubs the back of her neck.

Basically: She sees the logic in it, because if you keep the wish to yourself how is anyone going to know you have a wish to fulfill in the first place?
] But still, it is personal. DO not know about hanging it up for everyone to see.

[Orihime nods.]

That I understand as well - that something can be very personal.

[She tries to think about how best to explain what she's thinking without offending.]

Perhaps... a less personal wish, for tonight? You say that your words are difficult to form. Perhaps you could wish for that to change - either through the assistance of a qualified teacher, or through some magical charm that could help translate what you mean a little better.

[It's a thought.]
