So much to do, and all the time to do it. [Open and Closed Prompts]
Who: Yukine and you! Open and closed prompts.
What: Being idle around the Near Shore, and working hard on the Far Shore.
When: August 18 and 19
Where: Various places on the Near Shore; around the school and Hakkai's temple on the Far Shore.
Warning: None
Stuff happened. And as a result of that stuff, Yukine had even more time on his hands than usual.
So he threw himself into his studies, as well as catching up on some other projects.
--August 18--
Garden
In the morning, Yukine can be found on the Near Shore. Along a particular riverbank is a large lone cherry tree. (Not that it's easy to tell that it's a sakura when it's not spring.) And not far from that tree is a garden. Full of tall sunflowers, hollyhock, and various other bright summer-blooming flowers, it is a strange but welcome sight along the greenbelt of the riverbank.
Among the flowers is Yukine. Tying the sunflowers to poles, clearing away fallen flowers, snagging any weeds that dare appear, it is clear he is diligently tending the garden.
His expression is quietly satisfied as he works, and he won't mind being approached at all, even if it would be surprising to him.
Math class
The afternoon is class. From one until three Yukine studies math with Hakkai and takes advantage of the free study time. Math being one of his better and more liked subjects, he's in a good mood as he studies.
Meeting
[Closed to Chinatsu]
After school he'd arranged to meet a shinki that is having problems because her god is gone, and she's worried about being basically defenseless. He'd agreed to meet with her in person to talk about it, so he waits outside the school, sitting under the shade of a tree in the yard with a notebook balanced on his leg. Might as well get some homework done as he waits. He's not worried about being recognized- his name is visible above the collar of his shirt, after all.
--August 19--
English class
From nine until eleven in the morning, Yukine is forcing his way through English. At least Izumo as a teacher is pretty interesting, even if he can be awfully strict about some stuff.
But English free study... ugh. Save him, please.
Driving!
[Closed to Hakkai]
Yukine cannot escape English class fast enough, especially since he has something good waiting for him. For an hour Hakkai will give him a driving lesson in Jeep!
Yukine comes to Hakkai's temple prepared with a small box of bought cookies for Hakkai-san as the teacher, and a bit of cooked fish to offer Jeep as the vehicle.
Giving up the offerings, Yukine says the traditional "If you would, please..." Please take it easy on him? It's his first time.
[Open, with Hakkai]
Once they get underway, passers-by are welcome to notice the young shinki behind the driver's wheel instead of the adult, and try to make conversation. (Parallel parking is tricky, okay? Maybe don't distract him while he's trying to pull that off-)
Wandering the Near Shore
With a few hours to burn after lunch, Yukine wanders the Near Shore as he sometimes does. He likes window shopping around the clothing stores, and even though he doesn't play any games himself he'll watch people in the game centers. He spends some time at a garden supply store, and as the afternoon gets later he'll work his way back home, stopping at the supermarket on the way to pick up some things for dinner.
[Closed to Yuto]
Even in the busy shopping district, a head of spiky black and purple hair is hard to miss. Waving a bit to get Yuto's attention, Yukine comes closer.
"Hi! It's been a while. What you doin' down here?" And even as he speaks he's trying to think of when the last time they met actually was ... oh. Yah. It'd be during that whole kid thing, wouldn't it.
[[I prefer prose, but bracket form is totally fine too!
If anything needs a tweak or you'd like a specialized prompt, just let me know!]]

Wandering
Spotting a familiar figure outside one of the arcades, he slows his board a little before skidding to a stop a few steps away and peering over Yukine's shoulder to see what's caught his attention.
"Yo."
no subject
Whirling around, he's relieved that at least it's a familiar face. His surprised expression gives way to a small smile.
"Yo. It's been a while. How are things going?"
no subject
Which is a nice change, to be honest. Kicking the end of the board up, he catches it in one hand before tucking it under his arm as he grins at the other shinki before gesturing at the arcade.
"How about you? Killing time? I'm surprised you're not in there kicking ass."
no subject
"Killing time is right. My god is off being an idiot again, so I can't pin him down to do ayakashi killing like we usually do." Huffing in irritation he turns back towards the video game screens. "I haven't felt like playing video games in a while, but maybe kickin' ass in there would be an okay substitute until I can kick Yato's ass." He grins evilly, completely serious.
"Do you play? Or do you like skateboarding more?" He points at the board.
THAT IS A TERRIFYING ICON
Although the question gets a thoughtful hum from him. "Both. Either. Do you ride?" he asks as he holds up his board.
Thank you :3
But he's more than happy to put thoughts of that sweaty jerk aside in favour of this topic.
"It's another thing I haven't done in a while, but yep. I mean, not any fancy tricks or anything, but I like goin' fast. How about you?"
no subject

He can’t worry over the past.
“Sure, I’ll try for a bit.” Taking Yata’s board he lowers it to the ground and steps on. From even one push he can tell the board is well-worn. He smiles a bit as he looks over his shoulder. “Skateboarding in front of a game center is bound to attract unwanted attention, so it’d be better to go a few streets over.”
no subject
Still, he glances back over at his shoulder thoughtfully before nodding in agreement. "There's an alley a block or so down, too. Some of the street kids use it for fun, bunch of makeshift obstacles and ramps out of whatever they found lying around. If you wanna try that?"
....He may have spent a lot of time keeping an eye on this section of the city and exploring it in his free time. Which he still had way too much of.
no subject
"Sure! Lead the way." Yukine figures he can ride the board there, and let Yata have it back to do some tricks if that's what the alley is set up for.
"Say, did you ever end up doing anything with all those prizes you won at the festival a while back? 'Fraid I've never gotten around to playing that one you gave me, myself."
no subject
He glances over at the question though, having almost forgotten about all that. "Hah? Oh, I gave most of them away. I kept one or two, but a couple gods took a bunch and I guess gave them to a bunch of kids or something? They'll get more use out of it than I would."
no subject
He follows after Yata easily, smiling as he enjoys the feeling of going fast under his own power.
"Y'know, I started learning how to drive yesterday. It's difficult, but once you get going it's great! It's so fast! Even so... there's something nice about goin' fast on your own, just using a skateboard."

sorry for the wait!
"Is so real. Just ask Hakkai-san next ya' see him. I'll even accept you buyin' me lunch to make up for you calling me a liar."
no problem! ;)
He motions up ahead to the entrance of an alley. "Turn down that way."
no subject
He makes a small noise to acknowledge Yata’s direction, and going through the alley he stops when he sees that they’ve made it to the place Yata had in mind. It’s not much, with junk making up all the makeshift ramps and obstacles, but he gets the feeling that anyone using it won't care as long as it works.
Stepping off the board and stepping on the end to bring it sharply to his hand, he gives the board back to Yata with a small smile of anticipation.
“Thanks for the ride. Your turn now.”

Yukine gives an appreciative whoop at an exceptionally high and flashy looking flip.

"I'm still figuring out what I know how to do, and some I had to practice a bit to get the hang of, but yeah. I like it, it's fun. Do you want to try some? I can show you how, if you want?"
no subject
"Sure. Let's do it!"
[[ooc: sorry, could we tie it up here, and handwave them doing tricks all afternoon? ^.^]]
