Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.







Main Hall

While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.

Suprises

Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.

Complimentary Dinner

After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Counselling

As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

Main Hall

[Hinata recognizes Naruto's voice before she can even see him. Without her knowledge, she's smiling.

Because if anything, Naruto never changes.

She hangs just outside of the doorway of the room he's in, her hands and head can be seen looking in. But she never fully comes in, not yet.

She knows, just instinctively, that she can't say anything about their time together. It ties up her tongue and keeps her just outside of the room, unsure as to what she should do.

How did he even get here? How can she talk to him without seeming like a creeper? ...Again, that is.

She's still just looking into the room, but now shuffling from foot-to-foot. Dare she even try to talk to him? What should she say?

Maybe she's even practicing different things to say to him inside her head. This is hard, ok?]

[ While she does all of that, Naruto circles the statue of some god with the feather duster, (just hitting it with halfhearted annoyance by now, to be honest), and he spots Hinata right after he realizes that he has to clean the statue's ass too, which is just euuughhhh. ]

Hey!! Are you looking for someone?

[ Waving a hand up in the air, Naruto walks towards the door to talk to her. She seems lost! Well, he's new himself, but maybe he can help her look! Thank you for giving him an excuse not to attempt some dumb technique on that statue and maybe breaking his fingers. He will be forever in your debt and he won't even know it. ]

[She quickly darts fully behind the wall when she realizes she's been spotted. She should have remembered that she has next-to-no luck when it comes to not being spotted by Naruto. Even if he, apparently, doesn't remember her.

She should have just continued walking because she isn't sure she's ready for this.

Don't mind that sigh and 'thump' coming from just beyond the door. Don't mind her: she only rested her head against the wall as she thought about her choices.

In only two more seconds, she's coming out and walking through the doorway this time.]

Um, no... Not really. [Lying. Lying so hard. She can't just say she was watching him because, creepy much?] Um... Um, I was...looking for something to clean? [Even though she has no cleaning supplies.]

[ Sorry, even if she said she'd said was watching him he wouldn't think she was creepy. Being shy isn't a crime, Hinata! ]

Eh, really?! That's great, 'cause there's still a lot of stuff to clean in here, you know? And it'll go faster if there's two of us! [ He turns around and gets another sponge, then holds it out for her. Come in, Hinata! Let's CLEANING! ]

[It's the worst crime ever, the worst.

With her cheeks still burning from her blush, she walks closer and takes the offered sponge.]

Right. You're right. Um... [She bites her lip and goes to clean that statue that Naruto had been cleaning beforehand. She's not surprised that it's still covered in dust. At least this way, it'll be wet instead of dusty?]

So, um, how long... How long have you been cleaning in here?

[myninjaway]

[ Naruto goes on to sweep the floor while she does that. Taking a break from that statue will be good for both the statue and himself! ]

Huh. Here in this room? About an hour and a half, I guess? A lot of people dropped by, so I couldn't get a lot of work done. [ The part where he implies that he would have gotten a lot of work done if people hadn't come may be a slight exaggeration. ] There was this guy who was really cool, and then another guy who didn't wanna work at all, and a girl who had a lot of energy, and then my goddess came by...

[More than anything else, that hammered home the confirmation for her. He really was a shinki. She'll have to start all over again. At least this time, it shouldn't take her years to finally become his friend.]

That's not too long then. It shouldn't take too much longer between us then... Um, it sounds like you met a lot of interesting people though. So that's always a good thing.

Yeah, thanks for the help! [ It really won't take long to become his friend, you just have not to hide behind trees (or walls) (or doors) (or columns) (or statues) and actually talk to him!

Anyway, he's not too good at sweeping, but he's better at it than he is at more detailed tasks, so at least he's making some progress here. ]

What about you? Were you looking for stuff to clean for long? Did you meet a lot of people too?

[But do you know how difficult that is? That's her entire M.O. for getting to know everything about him!

Hinata has finished wiping down the statue in water and soap, and now goes off to wring it out so she can use it to wipe up all that water and soap. Water spots and soap scum are...really the opposite of cleaning.]

A little... I've had help cleaning up a few other rooms, so it didn't take too long. And yes, I did meet quite a few people. Everyone here, they seem so helpful and nice.

[ Naruto is managing to get all the dust and dirt together. Trust him with this. ]

That's great, that's great! So, are you new here, too? Or did you just meet the new ones like me?

[She will! But she's going to keep a close eye on him over her shoulder as she wipes down the statue.]

I'm new here, too. Though I've also met a few other new ones as well. It seems like this happens often, new gods and shinki appearing.. From what I've heard, at least.
