[OPEN] He dwells in the place called Breidablik

Who: Sora & Riku Replica, Sora & Hinata, & OPEN
What: Sora is lost underground for a few days following the attack on the heavens. Time to go home and face his shinki about it. Sora has Hinata help him learn more about the herbs around his temple. OPEN prompt featuring Sora and Riku Replica’s strange collect of pets.

[After a few days of being lost underground, Sora finally managed to return to the surface. The plus side? He avoided cleaning up duties after Sho’s meltdown completely. The downside? His shoulder was still pretty busted up thanks to a certain blond and baseball bat combo.

Curaga spells healed most of the damage but there is still a distinct throbbing in his shoulder and sharp pains. Magic would do most of the work but Sora is ready to rest and relax.

He teleports home and opens the door as quietly as possible and creeps inside. He peeks around for Riku Replica and whispers,] ...Riku? You home?

Whispering like he thinks it’ll make the reunion easier somehow. He absolutely knows Riku Replica is going to be angry. He kind of vanished for a few days without telling him. That and they still had to talk about the whole Axel thing… And the hornet-like stings Sora’s been feeling lately.]

[Closed to Hyuuga Hinata]

[Baldr’s temple is a rather simple one compared to other temples. It’s not the biggest but it’s homely and welcoming. Sitting on the shoreline, the sound of the waves are always crashing and the seabreeze is always sweet.

The strange thing about the beachside temple is the various amounts of herbs and plant life that grow near the temple and around the area. It’s attributed to Sora’s godhood as Baldr. The place is littered with Chamomile, Basil, Echinacea, Lavender, Marigold, Lemon Balm and more. And don’t forget the collections of Baldr’s Brow and highly poisonous Lilly-of-the-Valley.

Not that Sora knows any of this. Which is why he’s asked Hinata for some help deciphering what is what. Ninja-cat-goddesses know these things, right?]

[OPEN; Late April or Early May]

[If one picks to visit Baldr’s temple there are a few things one might encounter before finding Sora or Riku Replica.

A very plump and cuddly looking Dream Eater that resembles a cross between a cat, bear and dog. Yes, that is pink hearts fluffing off him.

A talking baby fox demon that happens to know how to fly. He’s new, be nice.

A two-tailed pure black cat that also happens to be an Ayakashi. Please don’t touch it. Or kill it.

Otherwise, Baldr’s temple lies on the shoreline and the doors are always open. Sora has a very bad habit of not locking anything. So feel free to swing by and encounter one of these strange creatures or say hello to a god of light or his shinki.

Beware of random Ayakashi encounters, they tend to show up once in awhile at this temple as well.]

[On her way up to the temple to meet Sora, Hinata did indeed catch sight of the many plants and flowers surrounding it. She thought there would only be a few and in just a certain area, but now she can really see why Sora wanted some help in identifying some of the nearby plant life.

It was a good thing she offered. While not the most knowledgeable person ever, she did at least have an idea about herbs and she did know which were poison. Important information for a ninja to have.

She continued on to the entrance, looking for Sora.]

...Sora? Um, you are here, right?

[It's his Meow Wow that bounds up to greet Hinata first, but Sora follows quickly after. He waves to Hinata and smiles.]

Hey, you made it! Come on in. Ignore him!

[Sora points at the chubby Dream Eater. The fat cat dog seems pleased to have a visitor and happy pink energy puffs off him. Hello! Hello!]

[Hinata waves back to Sora.]

It's no problem, he's...cute?

[She smiles, bending down to pet the strange...catdog creature. At least he's friendly. More than she can say for all the cats at her temple.]

Um, anyway.. I didn't expect for you to have this much plant life. Especially near a beach.

[At being pet, the Dream Eater woofs happily and wiggles with glee. He just found a new best friend.

Sora just chuckles at his pet, obviously quite used to how affectionate he is with everybody he meets.]

Yeah, it's kind of everywhere, huh? It surprised me too when I got the temple. Must have something to do with being a god.

[He looks around at the front of the temple, and he can count about seven different shrubs alone.]

[The smile stays on her face as she pets the catdog more. Pets are something she's still getting used to.]

It's possible.. I think it may also just depend on the god, too. And maybe you could remove some of it, if you really wanted to.

[Even if that seems a strange thought to think considering they aren't the original gods. But it's their temples and homes now, so that made it ok?

Anyway, she looks up at Sora.]

But... Is there a specific area or plant you wanted to start with?

[Sora ponders for only a short moment before he shakes his head.]

Nah, I want to keep it all. It's really neat looking, even if there's so much! It makes me feel a little more close to who I'm supposed to be too.

[He has quite a bit of pride with being a reincarnation of Baldr. It's special to him. Knowing what a great god he's the successor for makes him really happy.]

We can start at the back of the house, there's a whole bunch of these little white and yellow flowers.

[Basically just a whole whack of chamomile. He leads her over.]

[She straightens and follows after Sora, interested to see how many more plants are in the back.]

Well, it is your temple now. So it's in your hands as to what you want to do.

[She probably wouldn't admit it immediately, but she wouldn't change anything about her temple either. As much as she mentally complained about the cats, they had grown on her.]

And there's a few things little white and yellow flowers could be.

[Well, who doesn't love piles and piles of cute cats? Best temple ever, really.

Rounding to the back of the house where the beach and docks are, Sora takes her to the side of the temple where the patches of herbs and flowers are. He reaches down to pick some of them. He selects chamomile and echinacea and some random flowers.]

These ones, there is tons of these all over the place. They smell great, like I could eat them!

[She looks over the flowers that he's holding, taking into consideration not just their blooms, but smells as well.]

Um, I wouldn't eat all of them. [She breathes out a laugh before holding her hand out for the flowers, so she can look them over better. Plus, she doesn't want to give them a better smell them while Sora's holding them. That would be rude.]

A couple seem harmless, but the other two... While most of them look like daisies, there are different kinds. And some you probably shouldn't eat at all.

[He hands them to her with a nod, listening.]

Okay, don't eat them all. Got it. [He laughs and then points at the Echinacea.] Do you know what these ones are?

[She pulls the Echinacea away from the rest of the flowers that she took from him and held it up between them. She twirled it slowly between her fingers as she looked it over.]

I believe... It should be Echinacea. It's safe to eat, too, so don't worry. But it can also be used as medicine. I know we used it to treat sore throats, so..

[He looks curious and smiles.]

So Echinacea is for medicine? Okay! Did you learn about all this stuff in your home world then?

For the most part.. [She half-shrugs and puts the echinacea back among the rest of the picked flowers.]

In the academy, all the girls have to take something of a... "Flower course." We learn about the different flowers and their uses, along with a little of the language of flowers.

[Sora makes a face.] Just girls? Boys can't take it too?

[He thinks knowing more about flowers and their uses would be really cool. He has no idea what the language of flowers is but that sounds cool too.]

You must have went to a really different academy if you learnt stuff like that.

Not usually. [She breathes out a laugh.] It's really only reserved for girls, but I assume the boys had a class that only they did, too. It's usually easier to teach girls about flowers, too.. Most of the boys in my class wouldn't have been able to sit still long enough through the lessons.

[Then she shrugs and focuses back on the flowers in her hand, trying to recall names and uses.]

From what I've gathered talking to others here, the academy I went to is...different from what other people learned. It seems like not everyone learned to fight early on either. But, um.. Anyway...

[Changing subject is a go! She's not entirely comfortable revealing things about her village to non-village members. It's not exactly a conduct breach, but it's close enough.]

Which one did you want to learn about next?

[Sora is genuinely interested in such a school that boys and girls learn different things. He's always interested in learning about other worlds and it seems pretty unique.

Boys not being able to sit through a flower lesson sounds about right. He doesn't know if he could himself but his interest in these things is stemming from being the reincarnation of Baldr.]

Sure does sound different! I mean... I learned to fight when I was pretty young too but not at school.

[Sora turns and picks another handful of colorful flowers and herbs. He picks through them for a second, trying to decide which one. He picks some purple ones and holds it out to her to take.]

These ones? They smell really strong!

[She shifts uncomfortably. She's had other conversations involving just how strange this was with others and their differences in "schools" and "classes" to know that her world treats those who become ninja or are born into clans as different.

So even as she takes the purple ones from him, knowing immediately what they are, she decides to humor a little bit more on that topic.]

Well... It's mainly because we all decided to be ninja, so... So our education was entirely about that. Um, but anyway.. These are lavender. They're safe and have a lot of uses. People use them in cooking, to help go to sleep or relax... Or really just because they seem good.

[Wait a minute.]

You're a ninja?

[Excuse Sora while he forgets about the flowers and looks at her with a sparkle of admiration in his eyes.]

That's so cool! You must be really strong and know all sorts of stuff!

[That

is not the reaction she's expecting. Someone's actually excited over that?]

Um, yes?

[She blushes and can't maintain eye contact in the face of such curiosity.]

And I wouldn't say I'm that strong, just... I have a different set of skills than other people here.

[Um yeah, Sora freaking loves ninjas. He's a little oblivious to her embarrassed state and just keeps on going.]

That's really cool, Hinata! Don't count yourself out, having ninja skills is probably really useful and having a different skill set is great! We should team up for some prayers sometime!

[She nods, happy. Even as she ignores most of his other praise. It's not something she's used to dealing with.]

I'd like that.. Teaming up, that is. Since, um, my shinki and I are really new at it and don't entirely... I don't think we know enough to be really effective against ayakashi just yet.

[Sora has a habit of praising people until the cows come home. Sorry, Hinata.]

That's no problem! You guys, and me and my shinki, and we'll get out there and do some hands on prayers. Ayakashi won't stant a chance against us! I'll back you up until you guys get the hang of it!

[Hinata needs more people like that in her life.]

It sounds like a plan! Though I think we need a little more practice before hands on prayers. I, um, still haven't called his name or anything like that. So..

[Yeah. They're a little behind the curve.]

[Sora looks a bit surprised but then smiles gently.]

Haha, well I guess you two will have to take care of that first. Let me know when you guys are ready and I'll be ready. There's no rush!
