[After the many rather scarring things that have happened today, Yukine figures it's about time for something good.
Yamato-san had said that he'd introduce him to Souji-san sometime, and (now that he's mostly recovered from the sakura's hangover) it seems like a good chance.

Having called Yamato-san and arranging for him to find Souji and come meet him by the refreshments table, all that's left is for Yukine to wait.]

[Meanwhile Souji has... well, mostly sobered up. It really just kind of got him tipsy and a bit unsteady, and since he's still acting really giddy and chatty and clingy - like always, really - the difference might be hard to tell.

Especially since a.) he's around Yamato and he's his best friend and wonderful and b.) he's going to meet another Shinki who makes more sense than most. It's not that he dislikes most other Shinki, but simply that it's nice when someone understands you.

He's bouncing along hand in hand with Yamato, looking around curiously because well, he doesn't actually know what Yukine looks like.]

[Blame it on the tsukumogami genes, or maybe just a stupidly high tolerance, but the sakera (heh, get it, sake--) didn't affect him all that much. Nonetheless, he's smiling brighter than Yukine's probably ever seen, and he seems totally comfortable with the contact, like it would be weirder if they weren't holding hands.

It's easy for him to spot Yukine, and he perks up as soon as he does, tugging lightly on Souji's hand and waving to catch Yukine's attention.]

Yukine-kun! [His voice doesn't carry all that well over the noise, but they're probably pretty easy to spot, dressed as they are.] Over here!

[Sure enough, it's the energetic waving and the two people dressed so traditionally that gets his attention.
Wow. They sure look happy. And friendly with each other? Best friends for sure.

Waving back Yukine walks quickly over.]

Hello, Yamato-san. [He then nods at the person he hasn't met face to face yet.] I'm Yukine. Nice to meet you in person, Souji-san.

[Yukine is a bit younger than Souji had kind of assumed at first. After all, it's hard to tell when talking to Yamato, since everyone is "kun" to him - even his own God. Even so, Souji offers him a respectful bow, as he feels is only appropriate for a senior Shinki of the old guard.]

It's really nice to meet you as well, Yukine-san.

[He'll err on the side of politeness too, even if there is very little that is overly formal or stiff about the way he beams - or about someone who currently has all of his hair stuck full of sakura blossoms and stray petals. Maybe that can attribute to some of his lingering giddiness too.]

It's been a pretty lively event today, huh? I fell asleep next to Hijikata-sama and almost forgot that we were meeting up. [As one does. Whoops.]

[It's true, everyone is indeed -kun to him... except for Ayumu, who was on her way to becoming -kun before all of the Things started to happen. And Yato, who gets rewarded and punished with various honorifics depending on Yamato's mood... sorry Yato.]

It's nice, isn't it? They look so different in the sunlight. [He hasn't donned a yukata for this party like he did last time, his mood still a little too heavy to play dress-up. Nonetheless, he looks comfortable, and particularly excited to be introducing Yukine and Souji; there's nothing subtle at all about the way he glances hopefully between them.] Where is Yato-san, Yukine-kun?

[Being treated with respect always makes Yukine pleased. (He might be blushing a little.)]

Ah- yah, I kinda took a nap earlier too. [He replies to Souji-san before turning towards Yamato-san again. Although his expression is flat his tone is a bit disgruntled.]

No idea. Probably still making an idiot of himself on stage.

It's good to see everyone acting so happy and relaxed.

[That... is also a way of putting it.

From what Yukine had said earlier about Yato, and from his embarrassment right now, it's not hard to make an educated guess.]

Ah, Yato-sama was one of the people singing very loudly, wasn't he? [He grins, but decides to show some sympathy as well.] At least he wasn't coming up with terrible haiku.

[Yamato doesn't bother to hide his amusement; he laughs openly, both at poor Yukine's plight and Hijikata's terrible poetry (again).]

Yato-san is very energetic, isn't he? Last time we were here, he fell-- [...OOPS THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A SECRET.] --I mean, jumped out of a tree!

[Souji's right, though, it could be a lot worse.] I wonder if Yato-san and Hijikata-san have met yet...

[Yukine's face looks absolutely devastated at the idea of Yato coming up with haiku.]

Gehh-

[But he lightens a little at the image of his idiot god falling out of a tree. That's more like it.]

You're right, it could be worse. Falling aka 'jumping' out of a tree is actually more his speed.

[He looks at Souji-san curiously.] I'm not sure they have. [Hijikata-sama... has he met him yet?] What god is he, Souji-san?

[Souji giggles along with Yamato's laughter, swinging their hands back and forth distractedly. He'd honestly found it endearing to find out about his God's apparently unrequited love for poetry, and even the loud and drunk stage shows had been amusing, but maybe Yukine is a bit more sensitive about that sort of thing. From someone who looks like a teenager, that isn't very odd.]

Ah, maybe I should've said that first. [There is not really any remorse about the way he says it, because while he truly ~~and obsessively~~ respects his God, that doesn't mean he's going to take him seriously all the time.]

He's Hachiman-sama. He usually looks very impressive and has a serious expression- [He mimics Hijikata's resting bitchface.] -but he can be really sweet too.

[YAMATO'S GLAD HE CHEERED YOU UP YUKINE... even if it's just through this.

Yamato's also pretty cheered up by Souji's Hijikata impersonation, if the laughter that bursts from him is any indication.]

Yes, that's perfect, he looks just like that! Ah, he makes a really scary face sometimes, doesn't he... do you think it's because he's shy?

[Yukine can't help but grin along at their laughter at the imitation of Hachiman-sama's expression.]

Heeh. I think I'll be able to recognize him from that, then. I haven't seen him, but I chatted to him on the BBS.

[He was rather complimentary of Souji-san, so Yukine kinda sees where these two get the 'sweet' bit from.]

Shy though? [He turns towards Shoji-san, curious for the answer. The way he'd talked on the BBS didn't give that impression.]
