Who: Trance and a variety of people!
What: Various things, half of which are open!
When: May 18th-22th
Where: Around the Far Shore
Summary:
OPEN A - The Messier Practice (Two points to choose from)
[ It wasn't that Trance was the type to get drunk. In fact, the woman had recently learned that she could burn through it at the same volume and effect as water. However it did start to inspire her to try something that she had been curious about, but also would prove to be fun. At least, she hoped so. If anything, it would lead into something interesting.
On the more responsible of things, it also seemed kind of important to find a way to be useful. When your god can use a power that you're pretty sure is yours better than you, and it takes desperation to use the other ones, it just doesn't look good.
Wanting to make it a surprise, Trance opts for trying this away from Hedone's temple. One of the things that she wanted to try was the teleport that the impaled orange person called 'flashier and more neon than him.' To put it loosely. Last time it was out of panic, but in focusing on a location... She actually doesn't get very far, depending on one's definition. There's about 3 times that Trance manages to do this over the course of those days, disappearing and appearing in a bright blend of red and yellow, with a colorless center; each time she was both disoriented and quick to lean against her own knees before looking to see where she had appeared.
On another day of trying to get a better hold of her abilities, there's a lot less flashing around. Instead she's sitting around the entrance of what she thinks is one of the abandoned, empty temple properties. At least, she's relatively sure, with maybe a little certainty. Kind of. ]
Let's see... Heat- flame? Sort of, no. What is it? Heat, light- radiation? Not quite. Nuclear?
[ Whether that's really what is it, or just a focus aid, it's not until it's starting to dim that any real progress is made. With her hands having been open-palmed and mostly upwards, a glow of light starts to concentrate. It's not quite what she's aiming for, which is why Trance was staring at it with concern and perplexity.
Just as it's about to take a more concrete form, however, something in Trance's thoughts lead the ball of light and plasma to shoot off into the sky. It- It may have cleanly gone through something during the trajectory. ]
... Oops?
CLOSED to Youji
[ There wasn't a demon terrorizing a city, and the cleanup had passed. Trance was more acclimated to the area, and it was now time to try the more specific prayers. This time around, Trance had the opportunity to choose from what was available. So the golden woman went with her gut, though she also knew it didn't really line up with the 'kind' of god that Youji was, she knew it was something they could do. ]
So, I'm not exactly sure what was lost, but it definitely sounded important. Maybe a picture, or some other memento that was from this guy that they lost. If it was always in the wallet, it'd have to be small. Like badges of recognition. It looked like it was easy to make sure those kinds of things stayed secure in wallets, though.
I guess we'd have to question him for more details.
[ It seemed like such a long shot, to find something that could've fallen out anywhere, but for some reason Trance wasn't so worried about that. ]
CLOSED to Urahara Kisuke
[ It had been over a week that Trance agreed to help Kisuke with his machine. She proved to be ineffective in measuring spirit energy, but by the time she had left, the 'inventor' seemed to at least be in high spirits. Like he had more ideas on what to do with the analyzer. Now with the clean-up from that draining issue having finished, it seemed like a good time to return to the Greek temple.
Honestly, Trance was a little curious on whether the machine was still outside after all this time. She might not understand the spirit energy as much, but the technology around the instrument wasn't nearly as alien. ]
Hello~ Kisuke? It's Trance. Did the, um, Spirit Scale(?) work out like you planned?
Wildcard
[ Maybe you're checking out the new garden that's started to flourish in just a couple of weeks, or stopping by to visit Youji. Have something else? Then have at! ]

no subject
[That's fine with him. It's not as exciting as a missing person, perhaps, but this isn't really supposed to be about what he finds fulfilling, is it? It's about fulfilling things for other people.]
I can teleport us in that direction to start, if you're all right with it... [He holds out a hand.] Once we figure out what it is, we'll have to go back around where he's been. I'm hoping if it's small enough to fit in a wallet, it's small enough that no one else has taken it.
no subject
It shouldn't be too hard, I think. If it's so important, it should stand out from everything else on the ground too.
no subject
I had this conversation with someone the other day. Importance is a human invention... you can give it to anything if you try hard enough.
[Speaking of trying. He doesn't use the teleportation often, being the sort to enjoy the journey as much as the result, but-- it's useful, and he uses it.
They emerge in a residential area. Youji points to a fairly standard dwelling.]
People think gods are omnipotent, and maybe that was true before they started this late recruitment drive, but the prayer was awfully vague, don't you think?
no subject
[ Because if it's a human thing, she'll have to learn it instead of letting it come naturally. After the teleport, Trance takes the opportunity to look around the area before facing the house. There's not even any hesitation to going up to the door. ]
It must come with the idea of calling your type 'gods.' The title just brings up assumptions.
[ However she's just a few millimeters shy of knocking on the door before pausing in thought. To which she lowers the hand and steps to the side a bit. ]
Maybe I shouldn't get their attention right off in this. Sometimes people react strange or don't take things seriously if I'm really noticed right away. At least that's how it usually is, aside from the bunny man.
no subject
[...and he nods at that.]
I had my assumptions, too, let me say. Being a god isn't too different from what I was before, in some ways.
[Also, she's got a point. He makes a mental note to ask about bunny men later... that sounds like a story he doesn't know?
He considers the door himself.]
We can wait for them to come out and accost them at the mailbox? Or lure them out, somehow. Tailing them on their daily routine might be the best option.
A is for Aw Yea Let's Do This; May 22
[Schuldig doesn't notice the ball of light go screaming into the air so much as he notices several people in the surrounding area all noticing it. Out of sheer curiosity, Schuldig teleports to the area to take a look around and catches a glance of a woman being in the area where all of the unlookers kind of subconsciously triangulated the source of the light.
Then, he knocks on the temple door, knowing full well it's basically empty save for her.]
Housekeeping - here to check in on the light that just went over the temple?
[And he steps into the entryway of the abandoned building.]
no subject
[ See, at around that point Trance was ready to go and hide away just in case something was seriously damaged. You know, to avoid actual consequences. So it takes a few seconds before the golden-skinned woman even pokes her head out to say anything. Just the picture of innocent curiosity. Definitely inconspicuous.
Not like she's going to take responsibility for it straight away]There was a light? Didn't notice.
no subject
Uh huh.
[He's suspicious instantly and it doesn't take much more than a glance to figure out she's the responsible party.]
Honestly it's not like I'm here to get anyone in trouble. I was curious because of how high it went and how bright it was, especially since it's day time.
no subject
Just because of that? I thought things flashing in the sky would be pretty normal in a place full of gods.
no subject
Not as much as you'd think!
[ He's genuinely intrigued now. ]
That one for instance, wasn't so much light, was it?
[ He's feeling around in her mind now, but he thinks he can pass it off. ]
I've seen light manipulation and that was more... a combination of things with fire, it felt like.
no subject
Well, fire does give off light. I suppose you got a good look at whatever it was that went through the air.
no subject
[ He's starting to wonder just how powerful this woman is for a shinki. As powerful as Nagi? ]
If your batteries recharge that fast, anyway.
no subject
Well, it's not exactly about recharging, so much as getting a handle on it.
[ To which she'll raise a hand that starts to give off a glow that matches the ball of stuff that went through the sky before. ]
no subject
What do you think you need to get a handle on it? A target or three?
[Schuldig steps closer, trying to get a better look at her hand without getting too close. Mainly for his own safety.]
no subject
I really don't want any targets.
no subject
I said targets, not people. You know...
[He holds his hands up in a circular fashion.]
Bullseyes? That sort of thing?
no subject
I don't know if that would be a great idea.
no subject
[Schuldig starts tugging on her fears, pushing them back down and away.]
This is an abandoned temple, right?
[He gestures around them.]
You start demolishing this place and no one will mind one bit. They might even thank you. And if all you do is singe a wall or two, they won't even notice. You picked this place yourself to practice in -- it's sturdy enough for a few tries.
no subject
[ She's still not quite on board with it, holding the apprehensive tone and looking towards where one 'thought of' possibility involved the fire. Then again, the idea of demolishing things wasn't exactly on her mind in the first place. It had started off with a more innocent kind of practice. ]
I didn't exactly choose this place for it's sturdiness. Just the likelihood of it not causing harm or trouble by hurting or alarming someone, or something.
[ Instead she attracted the trouble that is Schuldig. ]
no subject
Maybe some other time. I'm definitely curious.
[ Schuldig waves like he's gonna leave, then snaps his fingers. ]
Ah, wait, didn't get your name, did I?
A
The crystal flowers in particular catch her attention. She's looking closely at one, when a nearby light reflecting off of it causes her to turn...
In the moment it takes for Trance to fully appear, Natsuru jumps and lets out a small, surprised yelp. Her heart's still pounding even after she recognizes the other woman.]
Oh! It's you.
[Blink...]
Wait, where did you come from?!
no subject
[ Trance raises a hand in simple greeting, only blinking a little at the surprise Natsuru had. To which she looks around with some thought before casually pointing towards a direction. ]
I think from a little ways from that direction. That's if my guess is ri- Ooh, what are those?
[ Attention is completely grabbed towards those crystal flowers, to which Trance seems to feel the need to get closer to. Probably even touch them lightly. ]
no subject
I don't know what they're called. But there's a lot of them here, and they're really pretty.
[She smiles, almost fondly. She's getting used to this place being kind of her new home now.]
At night, they even glow!
[They actually give off light all the time, but it's harder to see in daylight.]
A
Do you hate birds? [It was a bit of a strange question when presented without any context, but there was a reason for it. Honest.]
no subject
Much less where this person came from.]What? No, of course not.
no subject
[He wanted to call it magic, but he couldn't be sure one way or the other just by looking. Some people had weird powers here, after all. Also, the truth of his statement was...dubious.]
no subject
That's terrible. I wouldn't have done that if there was anything flying through the area or could've gotten hurt.
no subject
Things can always go wrong. Even if you're planning for it.
no subject
Which is why I'm here, instead of the abandoned temple off that way.
[ The blonde gestures off to a temple that definitely wasn't in shot of trees or anything like that. ]
And also why I aimed for the sky here. Even if it went through the ornamental stuff in this area, like the pillar in that neighboring temple, nothing particularly bad would've happened. Maybe close and really scary, or maybe a few leaves would've been singed, but not actually hurt or in danger.
[ Because she could totally know that for sure. ]
no subject
Whoa, that was close, wasn't it?
[That probably wasn't the most diplomatic way of getting his point across.]
no subject
[ See, the problem here is that the whole intention of him coming here was lost just by that display. Trance sees the golden ball and immediately likens and believes it to be the same kind of projectile she had. He clearly was able to give it more defined shape because he was more informed. Which really isn't true, given that the base elements weren't even alike, but it doesn't change her glee and excitement. ]
You can make those too! How are you able to make it so solid? Whenever I try to make them, the shape is all... wavy, or loose.
no subject
In his mind, her answer at least confirmed that she had been using magic before, but that did little to improve his mood.]
Wait a minute. I need to hit a branch that's above your head this time to make you understand.
[ooc: It's okay! I live for backtags so there's no such thing as too old. :Db ]
no subject
He'd tried analyzing a few other spectrums with Trance only to find nothing, but that was hardly cause for despair! It just meant the answer was closer; he just needed to keep narrowing it down until he got to the bottom of the mystery she presented.
...after a solving a few other problems. True, she's a scientific mystery, pure in the sense that he isn't looking solve a particular problem, and it's been a long time since he's been able to dive into subject matter that didn't have some urgency or ultimate purpose. So he's set aside a little time to developing new analytical equipment in the hopes of running her previous scans through them. It's not done, yet, but it will be soon enough.
At this particular moment, he sits at a workbench, screwdriver in hand and looking more rested. As much as he'd like to work more, there is a limit to Yoruichi's patience (in other words, she probably worries more than she'll admit). Placing the panel back into place, Kisuke looks up at the greet with a big smile. ]
Trance! Hello, hello and come on in. Mmm, it did. [ And now he's been able to craft some 'soul food' that should keep a hungry hollow fed. ] How are you this fine, fine day?
no subject
Clearly enough that you've been able to take breaks.
[ That's all thanks to Yoruichi, not that Trance knows that much. Instead she walks in with the same kind of energy as she had before, though perhaps a bit more relaxed. It was the benefit of having some time to discover and develop a bit of who you are as a person. ]
It really is a nice day, isn't it? I've been having a lot of free time lately, and your last invention seemed interesting, so I was curious if you moved on to a new project.
