[Closed] At least there's adults at this party

Who: All KH characters + their shinki (if applicable), Urashima, Nohr clan, Aymeric, Sheryl, and Jakob
What: A huge meetup because people need to see faces that go with names
Where: Artemis' and Baldr's temples respectively
When: May 21st - 22nd (Basically show up whenever and leave whenever)
Warnings: N/A

[Those invited will have most likely gotten a text or other way of communication to let them know there was something going on at this time and date. There is no set time per say, so it's an open invitation to show up even before sunrise if you feel crazy enough to deal with the wildlife in Artemis' place.

The party can be spent between the two places that are somehow linked by a trail. Either side will have amenities/foods/entertainment suitable for a meetup (though if you want tea/coffee, stick to the side that isn't Baldr's place).

There will be a sign on Artemis' side that warns of getting near the bear or deer since they are skittish around too many people, so one side of Artemis' temple will be sealed off to visitors unless you ask very nicely to see the deer. There will also be a sign that reads "NO SWIMMING IN THE LAKE". At least there's a nice fire in the fire pit on the patio, and those who stay the night at this temple will... see a bunch of glow in the dark stars on the ceiling.

Baldr's side... pretty much do whatever you want within godly legal limits? If you want to swim, go to that side. If you want to sleep under the stars, go to that side. If you want to be around wildlife that can't possibly gore you to death or maul you (unless it's your unlucky day and the bear decides to hang at the beach), go to that side.]

[It's pretty much as soon as Sora arrives at Artemis' temple that he goes looking for Kairi. He'd been waiting to see her for a while after Roxas made him calm down first but it still didn't quell his impatience once they returned to the temple grounds.

He finds her soon enough near the lake and just seeing her makes a conflicted wave of feelings hit him like a truck. He's sad and happy at the same time. It feels like it's been forever since he's seen her and it takes pretty much all of his willpower not to run to her and gather her up in a hug and never let go.

Which he probably would have done if Roxas hadn't stopped him from freaking out.

But it still hurts. To see her here and to know she's a shinki. She's dead... Just like Riku was... And he wants to tell himself over and over that things will be the same eventually.

So it starts with a hello a smile and wave.]

Hey there.

[Kairi hears someone approaching and turns around. The little hello and wave... he doesn't look all that well or excited or something. He looks off and that doesn't sit well with her.]

Hey there yourself.

[She steps closer, but does hold back from invading his personal space with that look on his face.]

Were you looking for me?

[He looks like he needs a hug. Or maybe several hugs.]

Umm! Yeah!

[Sora still smiles but his shoulders get tense and he feels his chest get tight again. Maybe this was going to be a lot harder than he thought it was going to be. Seeing her is a lot different than hearing about her.

And for a brief second he thinks about how hard it'd been to reunite with her in the past and now it's gonna be hard all over again. Especially since Roxas is her god and she'll never call his temple home.

He's just gonna... try not to start tearing up like an idiot.]

You're Roxas' new shinki, right? I'm Sora, but my working name is Baldr. You'll probably see me around a lot.

[She looks positively ecstatic, hoping maybe her attitude will be infectious.]

Oh, Baldr! Your temple is just over there!

[She tries to get closer still.]

Yes, I do think we'll be seeing more of each other.

[And she stops just in front of him.]

I'm not really a handshake kind of person... Would it be alright if I gave you a hug?

[Her smile does make him feel better, the tightness in his chest loosens a little. It's really nice to see her smiling face.]

Yep, just over the hill! If you ever need any help you can find me there.

[... Sora sleeps at Artemis' temple almost everyday but that's another story. She'll probably notice that on her own.

When she steps closer and asks for a hug Sora's eyes get a little misty and he pretends that something is stuck in them and rubs at them comically.]

Hey, weird, I'm a hugging person too!

[With a grin he turns back to her and holds his arms out.]

[She doesn't need to be told twice, and steps in for a hug, saying quietly since she's right next to his ear: ]

You looked like you needed one, Sora.

[She hugs him tighter for a bit, feeling more and more like he's one of these people she can trust in spite of everything Sousuke said.]

The same goes for you, okay? If you need any help, you can ask me. We're neighbors and all.

[Sora immediately pulls her in tight too and squeezes her and tries with all his might and willpower not to bear hug her and twirl her around off her toes. He really doesn't need her thinking he's a weirdo like Riku had.

And when she says that Sora barely contains a half sob half laugh as he shuts his eyes and feels his heart hurt with happiness.

She's here and she's okay... That's all that matters.]

Thanks... Kairi. I guess I did need one.

[He smiles, more genuinely this time.]

More than just neighbors, okay? Let's be good friends.

Really?

[She pulls back just to clasp her hands together excitedly, not really to break his hold on her.]

I'd like that!

[Man, Sousuke really worried her! So many gods aren't these far-off untouchable people; she's met several now who are genuinely kind! It gives her hope that this doesn't have to be so strange after all.]

Are you good friends with Roxas too?

[Surely he wouldn't ask her before the guy whose temple it is, right?]

[His smile pulls into a grin when she says she'll like that. He feels better for the first time in a few minutes and he nods.]

Same! There's a whole bunch of cool stuff around here I can show you! I think you're really like my pets too, I'll show you sometime! And there's some really awesome places in town and a lot of great food to try!

[He starts rambling so much about the stuff he wants to show her he nearly forgets that she asked him about being friends with Roxas. He double back with a fond smile on his lips and a faint blush glows on his nose.

Well, Roxas did say it was okay to tell close friends now.]

He's... um, he's actually... [WHAT DO THEY CALL IT? They really need to figure that part out. ksjhfksjfsFDJRJSR] My boyfriend?

[All of that gets a nod of encouragement from her - the kinds of things she'd be excited to do on her own, but to have a friend showing her them sounds even more fun - before it all comes to a screeching, startled halt when he stammers and then answers.]

... Eh?

[Did he just say...?]

Why didn't you say that first?!

[She's not offended, just amazed that he'd wait until outright asked what his connection to her god was when he'd been all friendly before!]

[She gives him a playful punch in the shoulder as she backs off just a tad.]

Is that why you were all shy earlier? Oh, Sora.

[Nevermind how many times she's said that phrase before. She doesn't remember it. But she does give him another hug.]

Of course we'll be good friends, you dork!

Hey! Ow!

[Sora pretends the punch to his arm really hurts and then rubs the back of his neck sheepishly. (Actually it does really hurt, when did she get so strong?)]

Oh come on give me a break, Kairi...!

[He was a little busy trying not to lose it because he hasn't seen her in a really long time and now she's dead but she's here?! That kinda took precedence!

This time when she hugs him he does indeed lift her off her toes as he squeezes her.]

Good! I was worried there for a second! [He jokes, laughing.]

[She just loves hearing that phrase for some reason. What a nice person her god is dating!]

You really are a hug person!

[Kairi pats his spiky hair.]

I'm glad that you live so close by.

[She grins and presses their foreheads together.]

But if I don't see you around for awhile, I'm gonna know about that too! So you be good to my god, okay?

[Sora laughs warmly when she boops her forehead against his. It's a familiar sense of touch that he's missed having with her. Years and years of childhood friendship and closeness that he's so happy for he nearly starts tearing up again. He can't stop smiling.

He finally puts her back on her feet after one more squeeze.] Yep, if you ever get tired of the bears over here you can always come nap on the beach at mine.

[After all, his home will always be open to her.]

Haha, don't worry, I will. We showed up here together and have always looked out for each other since then. And he'll be good to you too.

[She smiles at that last squeeze too. Good thing he's going to be around a lot. She's pretty sure he's getting a hug every time she sees him now - how lucky is Roxas! And how thankful she is that he lives so close.]

A nap on the beach...

[She steps back when he lets go of her.]

That does seems really great. Maybe I'll come by after our first time working together as shinki & god as my reward to relax for a little while.

[She smiles at that, because she's really looking forward to it. Like Sora, she thinks Roxas will take care of her in that sort of situation, but she wants to prove to him that she's useful too.]

Just think of my place as a second home, okay? You can come by whenever you want my door's always unlocked.

[He nods at that, looking fond. He knows how strong Roxas is and trusts him more than anyone so he knows that he'll take good care of her when they work together. There's no doubt in his mind that they'll be just fine. He thinks briefly about Kairi's own strength and abilities, knowing she has a keyblade now but did she ever get a chance to train with it while he was gone? It makes him curious and he wishes he could ask but he knows she doesn't know about keyblades or if she had trained and he doesn't know if she actually still has the ability to summon it like he and Roxas do.

Sore crosses his arms.] You know... Think you can wield a sword?

[His tone is playfully challenging. He'd train her if she wanted to learn. If she already had an inkling how? He'll spar.]

[At first she looks really happy to think of his temple as a second home, but his question has her looking much more contemplative, and not that his door would always be unlocked - which she might have laughed at if she'd remembered he could unlock any door with his keyblade.]

Can I...?

[But then she shrugs.]

Maybe not right now... But if you're offering, that must mean you're pretty good with one, right?

[So her expression gets more positive again. It's an activity to do together, bare minimum.]

Sure, I'd love to!

[If it's possible, Sora brightens again and grins.]

Might as well have been born with one in my hand!

[Okay, maybe he's boasting a little... As it stands Riku and Roxas (Thanks, Koriko) are both better. Marginally.]

Great, whenever you wanna train and learn or do some sparring, let me know!

[At least he'll get that chance. Training with her like they were supposed to.]

[She smiles right back at his excitement. Sure enough, it's something he likes a lot, which makes her more interested in it just as a friendship activity.]

Sparring though?

[She looks hopeful yet concerned.]

Wow there's no chance of that happening without you going easy on me! Do you know anyone else I can spar with while I'm just starting out?

What!

[Sora looks scandalized.] I'll go easy on you until you learn! What do I look like, a giant bully? ["Who do I look like, RIKU??" is what he wanted to say.

He laughs next and shakes his head, looking a little dejected.] I guess I could check if Yamato is still teaching classes...

[Sora gets a playful tweak to his nose.]

I'm just teasing!

[Okay half-teasing, but Sora's expression was priceless.]

I just didn't want you to have to hold back that much, but if you're going to pout like that, it's fine.

[He swats at her hand just as playfully.]

I'm not pouting!

[He's pouting.]

Teaching you is one thing, and when you get good enough we can spar for real and you can kick my butt properly then.

[He just want to help teach you, Kairi!!!]

[Well now she's just laughing at the stupid face he's making.]

Kick your butt, huh? Okay, that would be pretty awesome to have happen, but that's gonna be awhile before that happens.

[She grins at him.]

So you're gonna have to put up with teaching me for a really long time if you want to get your butt kicked properly.

[Sora straightens up like a soldier going to war, his expression serious and eyes sparkling with determination.]

I'll stick around as long as it takes! To get my butt kicked by Kairi! It would be an honor!

[And his expression cracks into a grin again and he starts laughing. Yeah, he knows that sounded really dorky. But... it's true. He would help her learn... as long as it takes.]
