[Closed] At least there's adults at this party

Who: All KH characters + their shinki (if applicable), Urashima, Nohr clan, Aymeric, Sheryl, and Jakob
What: A huge meetup because people need to see faces that go with names
Where: Artemis' and Baldr's temples respectively
When: May 21st - 22nd (Basically show up whenever and leave whenever)
Warnings: N/A

[Those invited will have most likely gotten a text or other way of communication to let them know there was something going on at this time and date. There is no set time per say, so it's an open invitation to show up even before sunrise if you feel crazy enough to deal with the wildlife in Artemis' place.

The party can be spent between the two places that are somehow linked by a trail. Either side will have amenities/foods/entertainment suitable for a meetup (though if you want tea/coffee, stick to the side that isn't Baldr's place).

There will be a sign on Artemis' side that warns of getting near the bear or deer since they are skittish around too many people, so one side of Artemis' temple will be sealed off to visitors unless you ask very nicely to see the deer. There will also be a sign that reads "NO SWIMMING IN THE LAKE". At least there's a nice fire in the fire pit on the patio, and those who stay the night at this temple will... see a bunch of glow in the dark stars on the ceiling.

Baldr's side... pretty much do whatever you want within godly legal limits? If you want to swim, go to that side. If you want to sleep under the stars, go to that side. If you want to be around wildlife that can't possibly gore you to death or maul you (unless it's your unlucky day and the bear decides to hang at the beach), go to that side.]

I... Know what it's like. To not trust or be trusted. I'm happy for all the people that do trust me.

Not everyone is nice here. Yeah, there are who will force shinki to submit and name them without permission. If that happens to you-[Roxas turns to Kairi.]-I'll take them down and make them release you.

[She's genuinely surprised to hear him say that.]

I'm glad I could call and talk to you about that too, but Roxas... You trust me, don't you?

[She wants to believe they're friends - maybe not good friends, that takes time, but he's been kind to her as she figures out this place, so surely...]

[He really hates people forcing others into situations they can't get out of.]

[She figures that meant her too. They did only just meet, so if he struggles with it, it's to be expected.]

Mm. Never mind. I guess that answers my question anyway.

[Namely that his surprised question says he does.]

I'm just glad that you do.

Yeah, but you and my other shinki are different. We depend on each other to stay safe and happy... But even if you weren't, I know you're someone I could trust.

[He can't tell you why, and he wishes he could.]

[Depend on each other... the way he says it doesn't make it sound like a negative thing at all to her. It's the kind of friendship she wants to have with people - not how Sousuke described, like if you couldn't do something on your own it wasn't an achievement at all.]

[She hasn't heard the word yet, not in any way that she remembers outside of maybe a passing conversation.]

A nora is a shinki named by another god. So they have more than one.

[She thinks about that for a moment before answering because the idea instinctively doesn't sit that well with her.]

How does that even happen? Did they ask your permission first?

Yeah. They asked me. They... Had trouble with their gods and wanted someone safe to be around.

Well that's... Yeah, that's better than how it made me feel at first.

[And continues to reinforce the fact that Roxas is a genuinely good person in her eyes.]

I don't know - like being another god's shinki was going to hurt you somehow. Like I shouldn't do it. Betrayal, I guess.

I... I'd be sad if you felt like you had to go to another god to feel safe, but I can't stop you. I just want you to be careful. There's a handful of gods here that aren't that nice.

[He's seen that first hand on the network. Forcing a name on a shinki? Despicable.]

[So she was right the first time, it feels like. He must have helped out that other shinki only under dire circumstances.]

No, I definitely don't feel unsafe with you, Roxas.

[Dangit she's going to lean over and give him a hug.]

[He helped out three shinki's, but one asked for it because Axel wanted to be closer to Roxas.

[There we go. Hugs help soothe the mood for her, especially since he returns the hug.]

If anything, I think I'm super lucky. You let me go out on my own my first day... and I really helped people I think! It felt so good to meet other shinki, too. I asked a lot of people what they think it means to be a good shinki, so now I have some ideas.

Huh? Why wouldn't I? It'd been mean if I didn't. Raichi and Senri got to go out on their first day with me.

[Well, Senri had to be tracked down...]

[Kairi shrugs.]

Sure, it'd be mean, but apparently some gods are like that. So I'm just glad that you're not.

['Mean' is hardly the word for what happened to Sousuke, but she also assumes that there's a gradient of personalities and maybe lesser versions of what he suffered could be considered 'mean.']

How do you decide which shinki you take out with you on prayers?

[It's something Bishamon got her thinking about - that and 'exemplar'.]

I look at the prayers and decide that way. Raichi... is a little too difficult to use on ayakashi destroying prayers. [He touches his cheek, still remembering the pain after bat met face.] And Senri is really quiet so I'd be afraid of losing him... so I take the kind of prayers where we don't have to worry about fighting, but those seem to be taken really quick by other gods.

I guess that makes sense. Although I'm glad the prayers of the people are being answered...

[She hasn't spoken to Raichi yet so any difficulty is lost on her, but Senri she remembers being told before was really quiet. Maybe he's a young boy like Goten, except opposite in personality.]

Still, Raichi was your first shinki, right?

[He seems to always mention him first, anyway.]

So he's your exemplar?

[Roxas has just learned recently how babies are made and Artemis happens to be a goddess who presides over children, women, and childbirth. He shudders.

[She might normally wonder if she'd said the word wrong, but it came from Bishamonten and she's recently learned that she's kind of a big deal from Yukine so...]

['An exemplar serves as our guide. They are our most trusted shinki or the one who's been with us the longest. ... Most times, they're a god's only shinki as is the case with many newcomers.' That's what Lady Bishamon told her.]
