[ look, mei's a generous guy, especially when it's a woman's voice that comes through to him when he's listening to the prayers of his followers. a woman in need! now that's something mei can't resist, especially when it's some idiots making a ton of noise keeping her baby awake. what kind of disrespectful jerks would do something like that?

he arrives on the near shore with his hand on kazuya's arm, right at the location of the woman's home--right in it, in fact. his aim's still not totally perfect with this whole transportation thing, and when he drops kazuya's arm, it's because the first thing he hears is a baby, staring in their direction out of its crib in the dark home of the woman who made the prayer.

the kid doesn't see them (he thinks), but mei sees it coming--his lower lip starts wobbling and mei hisses ] Kazuya--! [ right as he stumbles forward to try and pick the child up to quiet it down, maybe??? he's not entirely sure, but he's not about to let the baby start yelling when the mother just prayed to him that she couldn't sleep!

Let's get going, then. [ mei just blows off whatever he said about aiming--his aim is fine, thank you very much, you try mastering this trick the first time--and joins him at the window, looking outside. the noise really is coming from right next to the house, which means the faster the take care of this, the faster they've granted a prayer and the faster mei doesn't have to hold a child.

he glances over at kazuya when he bounces the kid, and a smirk works its way onto his face as he leans against the window, watching him move to set the baby back in the crib. ] Cooking, cleaning, baby care... are you sure your future career's not housewife, Kazuya~?

[ Looking flatly at him when he ignores his comment, Miyuki heads over to deposit the baby back into his crib, carefully disengaging the grubby little hands that hold onto his shirt. They're like tiny sausage fingers or something. And it's a bread-sized human being that he should absolutely not have any responsibility over.

He pauses from where he's trying to get the baby to settle, glancing back over his shoulder before he finishes up, turning back around. ] It's probably just babysitting in general, considering I'm your shinki.

[ WOW RUDE?!? mei makes a face like he's about to squawk at him, inhaling-- but the baby hiccups and it shuts him up.

instead, he just glowers at kazuya and punches him in the arm when he comes over, mouthing a not very nice phrase, then opens up the window. there's a fire escape off of a small deck, and from this distance, he can easily hear the kids messing around down the way. mei clambers out of the window and motions for kazuya to follow him, carefully getting down the first step of the ladder, then the second.

he probably doesn't need to have kazuya in his weapon form to scare off some stupid middle schoolers, so he doesn't bother, hopping down. ] Shut the window when you're done!
