tonight, nothing will bring us down
Who: Team Izanagi (Souji, Homura, Akihiko)
What: Prayer #09
When: May 21
Where: Near Shore: downtown
Though he's been here for a little while, Souji hasn't really done very many prayers. It's just been so busy that he hasn't quite had the time for it, and then when Reiji left he didn't have a shinki to fulfill any with. But, now, he has two. After the... actually relatively smooth introduction between the two of them, he figures there's no harm in taking on a fairly easy prayer such as this. He knows that things are never what they appear to be in this place, regardless of Shore, so he's preparing himself for more than a lost photo.
Homura and Akihiko are both pretty pro-active, in their own ways. If he can keep everyone from getting restless, then he will. Especially since he's right there with them.
Arms crossed, Souji surveys the street, frowning softly. He made sure to time this for one of the less busy periods, just to avoid foot traffic while searching. "All right. I know this is a little like looking for a needle in a haystack, but he was pretty distraught when he was praying and when I talked to him."
Considering the Dojima family has so little to remember his aunt by, he can understand it. Especially since - "He said there was no way the photo could have fallen out of his wallet, so I have a feeling it's a little more than negligence or an accident, but he's only traveled along this street from home to work, and that narrows things down a little."

"So it's most likely on this street? How long has it been missing?"
no subject
"Gives us a smaller area to search," Akihiko confirms with a nod, arms folded across his chest. "Though 'smaller' is relative. If it wasn't negligence, do you think someone might haven taken it? Can't see why anyone would want a photo that didn't belong to them, though."
no subject
"Someone, or something. Ayakashi typically feed off of negative energy, but other intangible things could also feed them. Luck, sleep, memories. I would say a photograph that couldn't otherwise be removed from a wallet without detection would certainly qualify, and generate negative energy via distress."

And without saying anything else she starts walking down the sidewalk, looking at the ground.... There are actually quite a few coins, but it's not what she's looking for.

"Chatty, isn't she," Akihiko remarks, though he, too, sets himself into motion, starting to walk in the opposite direction as to cover more ground. He doesn't go far, moving slowly and taking great care in in looking for signs of anything out of place. There was-- no, that was a candy bar wrapper. Not even close to what he was looking for.

He can't help the soft huff of a laugh at Akihiko's comment, to be honest, but it's almost a little fond. "It takes a little bit, but she'll warm up eventually." Although, that's not by much, and he thinks that he had a biased start with her considering their arrangement. "She just needs patience and friendship, I think."
Because the latter she hasn't allowed herself, unfortunately.

She hears what they're saying about her and looks over, feathers just the slightest bit ruffled. "I can hear you." She's pretty sure it's safer to have one strong friendship and acquaintances with others... but if they must protect Souji together they might as well have a decent enough working relationship.
"Just talking won't get anything done." Even if she doesn't have much of a lead on where the photograph is, she's still looking. Is that it? Nope, a used napkin... Do people even use the trash properly around here?

He hasn't wandered far enough to distance himself from the conversation, smiling wryly to himself.
"I'm just hoping we can all get along."

But he continues to look around as they go, and he keeps a sort of 'eye' on Homura's mood, as well as Akihiko's. Hopefully they do get along... they seem like the sort that will, eventually, mesh well. That's sort of why he picked up this prayer, to give them something a little more low stress to see if they'd get along.
It seems to be going fairly all right, so far.

She doesn't even touch the getting along bit. They will or they won't. That's just how it is. There's no reason to force getting along where it isn't natural. As long as they can set aside their differences when it matters (aka, protecting Souji) then it's fine, at least in her books.
