tonight, nothing will bring us down

Who: Team Izanagi (Souji, Homura, Akihiko)
What: Prayer #09
When: May 21
Where: Near Shore: downtown

Though he's been here for a little while, Souji hasn't really done very many prayers. It's just been so busy that he hasn't quite had the time for it, and then when Reiji left he didn't have a shinki to fulfill any with. But, now, he has two. After the... actually relatively smooth introduction between the two of them, he figures there's no harm in taking on a fairly easy prayer such as this. He knows that things are never what they appear to be in this place, regardless of Shore, so he's preparing himself for more than a lost photo.

Homura and Akihiko are both pretty pro-active, in their own ways. If he can keep everyone from getting restless, then he will. Especially since he's right there with them.

Arms crossed, Souji surveys the street, frowning softly. He made sure to time this for one of the less busy periods, just to avoid foot traffic while searching. "All right. I know this is a little like looking for a needle in a haystack, but he was pretty distraught when he was praying and when I talked to him."

Considering the Dojima family has so little to remember his aunt by, he can understand it. Especially since - "He said there was no way the photo could have fallen out of his wallet, so I have a feeling it's a little more than negligence or an accident, but he's only traveled along this street from home to work, and that narrows things down a little."

Honestly she doesn't really care about this random person's plight, but Souji does. And he asked them to look for the photograph. A prayer is a prayer, she supposes, and this is the kind that doesn't involve too much socialization. She can deal with it, she supposes.

"So it's most likely on this street? How long has it been missing?"

Photographs mean memories. For that reason alone, Akihiko feels this prayer is an important one, even if it might seem insignificant to some. No longer having access to his own memories, he can only imagine what this photo might mean to the person seeking its recovery-- but they wanted it badly enough to pray for it, and that said a great deal all on its own.

"Gives us a smaller area to search," Akihiko confirms with a nod, arms folded across his chest. "Though 'smaller' is relative. If it wasn't negligence, do you think someone might haven taken it? Can't see why anyone would want a photo that didn't belong to them, though."

She's not quite sure she understands this desperation for a photo, the same way Souji and Akihiko do. Stealing a photo seems like a strange thing to take, there's no monetary value in a picture- but perhaps it was an ayakashi, it certainly makes more sense that way.

And without saying anything else she starts walking down the sidewalk, looking at the ground.... There are actually quite a few coins, but it's not what she's looking for.

"Of course. Ayakashi." Their presence and motivations were things Akihiko was still getting used to, though he has to admit that the lack of conflicting memories must make it easier to accept the state of things as they are. He grimaces, glancing after Homura as she starts off on her own.

"Chatty, isn't she," Akihiko remarks, though he, too, sets himself into motion, starting to walk in the opposite direction as to cover more ground. He doesn't go far, moving slowly and taking great care in in looking for signs of anything out of place. There was-- no, that was a candy bar wrapper. Not even close to what he was looking for.

Ayakshi aren't exactly the kind of monster she's used to dealing with at home, but they're close enough. Things that feed on negative energy? Things that might make people commit suicide? They're just witches with different names.

She hears what they're saying about her and looks over, feathers just the slightest bit ruffled. "I can hear you." She's pretty sure it's safer to have one strong friendship and acquaintances with others... but if they must protect Souji together they might as well have a decent enough working relationship.

"Just talking won't get anything done." Even if she doesn't have much of a lead on where the photograph is, she's still looking. Is that it? Nope, a used napkin... Do people even use the trash properly around here?

"Not saying anything offensive, are we?"

He hasn't wandered far enough to distance himself from the conversation, smiling wryly to himself.

"I'm just hoping we can all get along."

"Do you think you're saying something offensive?" Her voice doesn't rise from it's usual quietly conversational tone.

She doesn't even touch the getting along bit. They will or they won't. That's just how it is. There's no reason to force getting along where it isn't natural. As long as they can set aside their differences when it matters (aka, protecting Souji) then it's fine, at least in her books.
