[So Gods like him are supposed to take Prayers, which Deku's interpreted more like volunteer work. And volunteer work is basically the foundation of being a good hero, so of course he took one of them.

And now him and Kacchan are supposed to find a job for this poor schmuck who couldn't manage to find one on his own- But there's gotta be something out there for the guy.

Somebody has to be hiring.

Which is why Izuku is out on the streets checking store windows for hiring signs.]

If we check for open job spots first then he can't say that nobody's hiring. Then he'll be able to go through all of the employment options and choose which one suits his abilities best. He didn't specify what kind of job he wants so we should just compile a list of everyone that's hiring.

[He's mumbling to himself as he starts writing in a notebook that seems to be labeled "Prayer Work: Volume 1".]

[ While Midoriya is doing productive work, which is probably quite helpful and effective at getting the task done, Bakugou is providing... motivational support.

That is, he's looking at this poor guy like he's metaphorical dog poop on Bakugou's heel. ]

The economy's not that bad anymore, isn't the real problem that he's being a lazyass?

[ ... maybe Bakugou shouldn't shittalk the guy they're supposed to be helping as if he isn't right in front of them. ]

Don't badmouth him when you're right in front of him. [Never mind that the guy has no idea that they're there.]

He asked for help, so we should help him.

[That's part of being a hero- helping people. Even if some of those people don't actually ask for it, they should be helped.]

He's willing to take anything at this point. We just need to look for entry level jobs and part time work.

If he doesn't have the motivation to find his own damn job, then where is he gonna find the motivation to keep a job?

[ But ugh, apparently they need to do this to get more followers and more powerful or... something like that. The point is, Bakugou wants to level up, so he'll try, somewhat. To a certain extent. ]

He looks kinda weak, so I guess physical labor is out, huh.

He might have been looking in the wrong places. He just wants a job, and that's what we're going to help him with.

[Izuku marks down a gas station, it's number and website for later.

At the comment he gives their 'charge' a once over.]

He probably couldn't work construction. A receptionist, cashier or gas attendant seems like things he could do.

Those all sound boring as hell, but I guess whatever gets a paycheck...

[ He shrugs, then narrows his eyes and gives the guy another once-over. He's clearly not impressed with what he's seeing. ]

What kinda stuff do you think gets a guy like that fired up, anyway?

[ Bakugou's always had a lot of ambition, so he feels a chronic disconnect in understanding how somebody could just kinda... drag their feet through existence, in his rather cold perspective. ]

He just needs a job that he can do to pay his bills.

[He marks down a cell phone shop looking for sales representatives.

He knows what gets him fired up in the morning- helping people, becoming a hero. (That's a little... weird now that he's apparently Aidos, but helping people certainly hasn't changed.)]

I don't know. I'd have to know more about him to answer.

[As far as he could tell after half a day with him, the guy doesn't do a whole lot.]

He cares enough to pray for a job, even if he can't seem to find one on his own. Maybe he just wants to live a comfortable life?

I guess there's only so much info that stalking the guy is gonna get us.

[ It also, coincidentally, makes him feel like a stalker. ]

I mean, he could be fine and just totally fucks up the interview every time or something. Maybe we should just talk to him directly, it's not like we gotta tell him we're divine whatevers.

[ ... It's still kind of weird if two random high schoolers start career coaching a grown adult, but that's alright. ]

[That's because they would definitely be stalking him. The guy can't see them, but it somehow makes everything so much worse.]

I was thinking of giving him a list of jobs and talking to him about it. But talking to him is a good idea.

[It's weird, but this is the prayer he picked out, so they should fulfill it as best they can.]

[ Less speaking, more doing, Bakugou thinks — so he nods and then promptly steps directly in the guy's path.... then glares at him, like it's this poor sod's fault they nearly collided into each other and not 100% all Bakugou. ]

[ THIS IS... ALREADY GOING WELL. ]

[The poor dude yelps and jumps almost a foot in the air. "What do you mean what's wrong with me?! Who are you anyway!"]

["By glaring?"

[ He's ignoring the comment about glaring because this is just how his face is. He embraces the RBF. ]

Just be grateful that we're even bothering to help you in the first place.

[ Not that he's explained what they're helping with... The poor guy just looks moderately bewildered as he asks, "But with what?" ]

We're going to help you find a job. We heard your prayers and we're here to help.

[He looks disbelieving, "How old are you? How are high schoolers supposed to help me find work?"]

Age has nothing to do with it! Just think of it as community service or some crap like that, I don't know. [ It... kind of is, in a way. And it's probably very believable that Bakugou, the guy who looks like a delinquent, needs to do community service for something or other. ] You are looking for a job, right? Not just wandering around town pointlessly?

[ Bakugou's look of scorn makes an otherwise innocuous question seem like he's accusing the poor guy of being the scum of society, though... He still seems shaken, but nods and opens his mouth to say something — ]

Okay, so what's the damn problem?

[ HE'S... HELPING... ]

[This probably would have gone smoothler if his shinki was almost anyone else, BUT HERE THEY ARE. Kacchan yelling this poor guy down in the middle of a moderately crowded street.

Before the guy can say anything much Deku cuts in.]

What he's saying is we'd like to help you. We have a listing of places that have open positions. There's some shops that need deliveries in the area, and some places that need cashiers! There are definitely options if you'd sit down with us and look through them.

[ HE'S... STILL HELPING.

Their victim/target/helpee seems perturbed, though. And then after hesitating, he asks... "Isn't there a job where I wouldn't have to talk to people?"

... Even Bakugou doesn't seem to know how to respond to that one, for exactly three seconds. ]
