doble passe
Who: Fubuki & Ankh
Where: Fortuna Temple
When: ???
What: God + shinki meeting
Somehow or other...he has this feeling of deja vu. There was something, maybe a someone, that he should have protected. Some...thing that shouldn't have disappeared, something he was in charge of, but that doesn't make sense; he's a shinki.
... Even her temple is gone. It's not like he even knew her for very long. So why does he have this strange angry feeling in his chest?
He rests his head on his hands. He should know better than to push it. He does know better than to push it. But—
He slips, slightly, on the chair. The sudden unbalance knocks him out of his reverie, and he finally regains enough of his bearings to look around. Where...? What kind of place did he end up wandering into...?

But there was something off about the place. Some of the decorations seem to move or the blurry patterns of the photographs hanging on the walls shifted. The air was hotter then it should be, the building feeling like there were people talking just out of hearing in various languages. There was a sound of shifting coins, or something metallic hitting the floor, and a sharp burst of some strange language before the place fell silent again.
And perched on a stool like he was going to fly off from it was a young-seeming young man with delicate features. With his blond hair styled to perfection and his clothing chic dominated by the color red, he looked a little like some kind of rock star that got deposited in some kind of dive except the fact that his right arm from the elbow down was monstrous shaped. At the door opening, he just jerked his head, and narrowed his eyes.
"What do you want?"

He stands, placatingly holding his hands up. If there ever was a reminder that life goes on and has to move forward, this...was one of them, he supposes. Trouble with a temple is the last thing he wants, and trouble he'd cause by scratching at that memory blank would be even worse, even if it's just a vague feeling that bad things would happen. In a way, he should probably thank this person for snapping him out of it, but he doesn't want anyone else to know how close to the edge he'd been in the first place.
"I seem to have wandered in here accidentally. I'll be on my way..." He has nowhere to stay, but it's probably best to seek out the help of someone he knows. Or at least...not from someone who's glaring at him. Ahaha....

Ankh rolled his eyes, hopping off his stool and stalked towards the newcomer. He was actually expecting to see a new person these last few days. There had been another one of those death memories, like the kind he got before finding Eiji here and then there was the other guy who briefly played around with Ankh's skills for languages before he disappeared. This was no doubt another shinki coming to fill in as his weapon. As much as Ankh hated the idea of them, he still couldn't turn any away.
That would be ridiculous.
Still, he was going to get as close as he can to the human, eyes narrowed as he studied the man's face before snorting and leaning back, posing like he was going to take to the air.
"Hardly likely. This place has a way of drawing a shinki to where they are suppose to go. You -" he draw out the word, his monstrous arm moving with a flourish, the talons tipping his fingers mere inches from the man's face "- are in the temple of Fortuna. That is, my temple."

"Nice to meet you then, god of ridiculous pillows." He lowers his arms, unconsciously crossing his left arm against his torso before letting it fall to his lap. Might as well start from the only beginning he knows. "I should tell you...I've been reassigned. Hin—Bast is...gone. I don't know if there are any rules for that."

"Fortuna is the goddess of Fate. Fortune, good or bad, comes from here and it seems that you've been assigned to me. How lucky for you."
He prowled around the edge of the counter, going in the back to the fridge and grabbing one of the ice pops from there and coming back out, chewing on it. He was taking care to not waste a single drop of the treat but he doesn't hold back from talking with his mouth full. Manners weren't that important to him, though he tried when people point it out.
"I'm simple compared to the lot of them. My only hard rule is that you need to speak your mind and tell me if I push things outside of comfort for you. I am not human, never been human, and I do not bother with all the petty differences between various humans to understand what they like and don't like. You have a mind, I expect you to use it. If there is something particular you need, tell me. If there is something outside of here you want, tell me. Understand?"

... The ice cream wasn't something he was ever expecting, though.
"Yeah... I understand." The talk of comfort zones isn't that reassuring, but he supposes that things like that are bound to happen. Hinata certainly hadn't seemed to want to show him that ability of hers, but maybe a god who wasn't human considered that kind of thing more. "I do have a question. I don't suppose you know what happens to the gods that are gone?"
