Summary: They're nerds...

[Waking up this morning had been a surprise far from the usual ones. There's no jolting upright, no disturbing Hazel in his sleep, and for once, no sad feelings. He remembers Gi-Gan. Everything about her, from the moment she took him in to the moment he parted, and so much more makes sense now. It makes for a good start to the morning, filling Jae-Ha with hope and energy, and he practically floats around in his morning routine. He has other plans for today, after all, and it's perfect timing!

The next surprise comes when he's watering all of the flowers inside of the house and notices that they've all bloomed enough to look wonderfully beautiful. It's much different than the little sprouts that he'd shown Hazel before, and he delicately touches one of the petals as he considers.

He'd already jumped all around getting things sorted, from little gifts to cute cupcakes waiting in the fridge, so why not start things now before Hazel notices? So, with everything perfectly set in place and the watering can now out of the way...]

Hazel! [He calls out as loud as he can manage in a cheery voice.] Come take a look at this!

[With much less care than he had for his brand new cool guy leather jacket, Hazel tosses his pants to the side - away from the water, at least - in time for Jae-Ha to come at him with this ribbon. He looks away from his discarded pants curiously, amused—what is this silly man doing??]

Am I bein' kidnapped? Kind of an odd party game, darlin'. Hold on. [So yes, he will take his shirt off, and he will even keep the ribbon on.]

I gave it to you for safe keeping.

[And it looks cute, tied in a bow at his wrist. Jae-Ha laughs, reaching to take Hazel's hand the moment he's done removing his clothes. Jae-Ha is already a soaking mess, so there's no use taking his off now.]

Come here! [Playfully, he tugs him towards the water, turning to walk backwards at a point and reach to grab Hazel's other hand as well.] It's cold, isn't it? And you dumped me in so suddenly.

[The (half) birthday boy becomes the present, he sees what's going on here. Jae-Ha, kink pushing again... Or: he'll gladly go a little bit into the water, but only a little bit, because it is cold.]

In my humble defense, ya did challenge me a bit. How was I meant to know it was so chilly?

I did challenge you a bit! I couldn't help myself. You should have the most fun possible on a day like today, so I wouldn't be mad even if you sent me in again.

[He's having so much fun goofing around. And of course, when Hazel only goes a little bit in, Jae-Ha releases his hands to step closer and scoop him off his feet. He's already soaking and cold himself, there's no escape!! He's walking into the water more, slowly.]

[Nooo, he's cold and wet, how terrible. Hazel whaps a hand against his shoulder in a pathetic and only half-serious objection to being carried further into the water.]

You're askin' for it with talk like that— [Aaa, the water is so cold... Watch in wonder as he tries to hold himself above the water for as long as possible, fidgeting in Jae-Ha's arms to do it. He looks like a fool. It's fine.]

[That's so cute. Jae-Ha takes the opportunity when Hazel is close enough, fidgeting away from the water, to kiss him with a chuckle. Then, he ducks, Hazel still in his arms, to bring both of them under the water completely. Revenge!!]

[What the fuck is this fake out cute kiss?? He wants a refund, he was too distracted by kisses to fidget away!! He makes a stupid noise of surprise just before getting pulled under, retaliating by swatting against Jae-Ha with both hands now and probably calling him a rude name underwater. Angry bubbles!!]

[What a perfect reaction! It's too much, it's too great! Jae-Ha was holding it together until angry bubbles make his own air come out in a laugh, a flood of bubbles joining Hazel's. Pulling Hazel closer against his chest, he stands up again, bringing both of them to the surface of the water while his laugh continues. His hair is all in his face, he's a mess, but Hazel is pure.]

[Jae-Ha is rude, that's what the only conclusion to make here is. Hazel leans away from him just enough to really Frown at him when they're above the water again. His own hair is just plastered wet to his head, so his Frown looks sillier. Acceptable loss.]

I'm still winnin', for the record.

[Mercifully, Jae-Ha lowers Hazel to stand himself. The water is probably just deep enough that Hazel can be above it, especially since Jae-Ha guides him to stand on the top of his feet for extra height. It's all so he can free his hands to reach and smooth Hazel's hair back for him, beaming.]

You're always the winner. There's no need to argue. [Surely it's fine if Jae-Ha just looks him over to appreciate how deeply in love he is with this silly wet grump.] Your clothes are still dry, after all.

[This time, he leans his head down for a better kiss with no water surprises.]

[Hmm... Hmm, alright, this is all pretty cute, so Hazel's grump dials back almost entirely. He did still Almost Drown, which is pretty offensive!! But the rest makes up for it. He slides his arms up and over Jae-Ha's shoulders, leaning into him now.]

Like I was sayin', ya challenged me, so it's your own fault.

[Jae-Ha gets another wet lake kiss for his troubles and his wet clothes.]

[Jae-Ha hums, only in agreement as he responds to that kiss. His arms move around Hazel's waist to keep him close.]

I had it coming. [He's fine with this fate. One of his hand slips away again just as quickly, lifting to brush away a strand of Hazel's hair that never seems to want to stay in place.]

I'd say we've successfully cooled off like this. [He keeps wanting to do more, but saying so aloud wouldn't have the right sort of feeling to it. He doesn't want to sound desperate, goodness. He knows Hazel knows he can ask for whatever he wants to do today. Jae-Ha just has a lot of Feelings about what Hazel deserves.]

The next time we come here, I promise I won't pull you in so suddenly. [He chuckles.]

Are we gonna make a habit of it? Might be nice. I'm not sure anyone else's even aware this lake is here, so it's like it's our own.

[Hazel is notably not promising to hold back from throwing Jae-Ha in the lake again, because it was just sooo satisfying. Even if he almost drowned.]

Maybe we should actually swim a for lil bit.

I say we should. [Both to coming out here more often and swimming, that is. He squeezes at Hazel's hips and then slips back just enough to separate, sinking to his shoulders in the water.]

I can imagine the lake is just as gorgeous at night, if not more. The reflection of the moon in the water would be a sight to behold.

And it's colder in here at night, I expect. [It's cold now... It's a wonder he hasn't crawled back to dry land to whine about this yet.

He stays close enough to keep his hands on Jae-Ha's shoulders, but doesn't do something rude like dunk him under. This is innocent, for once.] When the hot springs lose their charm, let's come here instead.

I can keep you warm. ♥

[That's a fun experience by itself! But the hot springs are really relaxing too, and probably cleaner... Well. They can alternate so they don't get bored of either one. Reaching up, he rests his hands lightly over Hazel's wrists, kicking back a little more in the water and urging him along.]

But that's a fine idea. Are you cold now?

[Hazel can't believe Jae-Ha wants to do it in the lake, except that he can. He laughs anyway, moving forward to actually do some lazy swimming. "Swimming," more like "not just standing there," but whatever.]

Powerfully so. And on my half birthday, too. What's a man to do about this sorta thing?

That's unfortunate. Come here, you haven't been filled with enough warm wishes.

[Jae-Ha laughs, but he only hovers a tiny bit closer in his own swimming to hold his arms out in offering. Hug him, this is better than swimming. Water hugs.]

[Already they're not swimming!! Fine, fine, Hazel is much more interested in water hugs anyway, so he lazy swims into Jae-Ha's arms immediately. Hey.]

How many wishes am I meant to be makin' here? I don't wanna miss any.

All of them, of course.

[Wrapping his arms securely around Hazel, he holds him close, running one of his hands up and down Hazel's back a little for extra warmth. It's slower under water, but that's fine.] You're not just the half-birthday boy, but the half-birthday prince, so please tell me every wish that crosses your mind!

[He loves being over the top with this.]

Is that a little warmer?

[The prince!! Hazel laughs, squeezing himself right up against Jae-Ha as he does. He's so cute and being held like this is so nice, even in cold water—it's a little strange to remember that this is all they have going on, that nothing has gone horrifically wrong in a few weeks, or maybe it's just hard to believe... Hazel is so used to waiting for the worst to just come already so he can get it over with that being this happy with Jae-Ha still takes him by surprise every now and then.

But of course, it's only been like two months or so. Obviously.]

I'm feelin' cozier by the second. You're my prince, ya great ridiculous romantic. Tell me somethin' nice. [Something shoujo, a sexy pirate story... he's leaving the options open.]

Something nice? I have such inspiration, with you here in my arms. Let's see...

[Jae-Ha chuckles a little, keeping Hazel close and as warm as he can as he hums in thought.] There's something so natural about being with you, you know. There are others I've met here, like Yona dear and the other dragons, who have that natural sort of attachment to me. At times it's so overwhelming there are no words, but still— nothing beats what I have with you.

[One of his hands slips between them to press at Hazel's chest, over his heart, without pushing him away.] It's grown here, through every one of our conversations. I have a tendency to be flowery with my comments like this, but I don't usually speak so deeply about my feelings more personally. This is a rare thing.

I used to wonder about my past so much that it would eat at me. Now, all I care about is my future with you. It's a little ironic that my past is returning bit by bit now, but it's still true. I'd forget it all again if it meant I could stay with you.

[that's gay, Jae-Ha]

Well now, ain't that romantic. [Hazel squeezes himself closer, Jae-Ha's hand on his chest and all. Come here, shoujo dragon... He's not going to get weepy over this (he hopes, how embarrassing would that be), resolving instead to just get more huggy. Here in the water. Hugs.] Are ya sayin' I'm the favorite, a cut above all the rest?

[That plays right to his ego, thanks baby. Ordinarily this kind of thing would give him pause - some number of months ago he'd pull away from this somewhat himself, to make it easier if anything should go wrong, but now—well, who is he to turn away when Jae-Ha needs him? And he feels the same way, so if he's going to walk backwards into the unknown it might as well be like this.

Relationship status: optimistic.]

Don't worry about givin' things up to stay with me, 'cause there's no need. We've got all the time in the world without givin' up any more.

[Every word and moment with Hazel feels like a relief. He can feel himself relaxing, his worries melting away, and a fond smile settles easily into place. He really can't beat this feeling at all. What can he do about this...]

Would you like to go somewhere with me? [The question comes out of nowhere, but he's not really surprised by it falling from his lips. Holding Hazel in this hug, one of his hands slips free just enough to take the bottom of Hazel's hair in his fingers, watching it as he toys.]

Somewhere far from here, away from what seems to be the center of every chaotic event. A place where no one can bother us. A vacation. Would you like to do something like that?

[They can go to Texas for a week or something, this is fine,]

[The fabled Texas vacay... Hazel blinks at the question, but he's already made up his mind before Jae-Ha finishes his whole explanation—]

No foolin'? Why haven't we left yet? [So, yes, while he leans his forehead against Jae-Ha's and kisses at his face. A whole vacation! He's never been on any vacation, Jae-Ha spoils him...] If it's the two of us, I'll go anywhere.
