There were certainly a lot of broken hearts and emotional roller coasters recently, so the Heavens have decided it's time to allow their people to let loose and have some fun for a little while. Through some magic - or possibly just a lot of money - they have managed to rent out an entire private beach for the event so that they won't be interrupted by any Near Shore residents. The beach is beautiful and well-maintained, the ocean goes for as far as the eye can see, and rocky outcroppings offer a handy place to dive into the water on a test of courage.

It's a beautiful summer day, perfect for swimming and cracking watermelons and playing some beach volleyball. There's even some soft music permeating the air so that nothing is every silent on this fun-filled day.

New arrivals, after having been met at the Meeting Hall, would have been immediately redirected to this party. After all, they should be enjoying themselves as well.

Playful Fish

The sea critters are excited about the party too. They're happy to swim up to anyone in the water and will even come up to the shallows to take a look at the fun happening on the shore. Toe nibbling and brushes of scales are in your future, so you'd better get used to the idea if you plan on being in the water.

Barbecue

Some basics have been provided, but everyone has been asked to bring a little something to the barbecue as well if they can. So you're more than welcome to grab one of the many grills and start frying things up. Heck, there are even fishing poles available if you feel like hauling in a few of those friendly fish to grill. Additionally, summery drinks have been provided, including iced tea, lemonade, water, and horribly fruity cocktails.

After Dark

Just because the sun is down doesn't mean that the party's stopping! The barbecue will continue well into the night, lit now by the stars and a huge, roaring bonfire. The bonfire is maintained by Amaterasu's shinki and climbs higher than any bonfire has the right to. Also, there are floating lights in the water so that people can continue swimming now that it's dark. And if you happen to get too drunk to go home, don't worry. A white-clad shinki will be happy to put you back to bed at the end of the night. Additionally, some sparklers and small bottle rockets have been provided for your entertainment.

[Literally anything was better-fitting on a lady than what his girl had willingly gotten herself into so all the guy in red shorts does is grace the woman ahead of him with the tiniest glance before he grunts out a reply.]

[Which might sound a bit dismissive-- and that's not his intention, really, but he's focusing his effort into opening one of those oversized beach umbrellas without having it just pop open, y'know?

His complexion isn't exactly made for fun under the sun either-- couple that with the heaviness of hair reaching to his waist and you've got a very determined young man your hands.] Ah-

[He figured out the umbrella! Three cheers for what is likely the most useful thing he'll do all day.] Would you mind stepping back?

Hm? Okay.

[Felicia glanced over at the young man with the impressively long hair and, spotting his work witht he umbrella, obediently took a few steps backwards so he could have more room to maneuver with the prop.]

Do you need some help with that? [She asked after a moment, noting the various other umbrellas scattered on the beach, the man's fair complexion that rivalled her own, and-- once again-- the sheer length of his hair.]

It looks like it's a little much for one person to handle...

[She'd been close to an... anchor or whatever the hell you call the base for the umbrellas to stand up on, and he hadn't wanted to accidentally knock into her. It's as big as beach umbrellas usually are, and kind of a pain to maneuver, but the boy seems to be holding up just fine.

But keeping quiet or actually dismissing the woman now would be rude. Neji scrambles to think of what else to point out. Oh!] I'm alright. But... would you help me keep it straight while I tie it down?

[Which he could very well do on his own. But. The lady had asked him to review her swimsuit-- he couldn't continue to brush her off. Even Neji knew that much.]

Okay, [Felicia chirped, and hopped right over into position to hold the umbrella straight while the young man worked.]

...I'm impressed that you managed to figure out how to make this work, [she admitted,] I saw so many of them laying around, but getting them to pop open like you did was tricky!

[YEAH it really was, but he's not going to jump on the praise.

That'd be stupid.] I saw that a lot, too. So I observed others who seemed to know what they were doing first.

[And three, two, one...

There it is: a glorious, upright, beach umbrella and all it's glorious shade now bestowed upon the two hardworking souls. Neji finally graces his companion with his full attention (rude, much?) and at least has the good grace himself to look apologetic.]

--as good as I believe these outings are to some, I'd prefer to not spend the day being burned under this sun. My name's Neji. Yours?
