There were certainly a lot of broken hearts and emotional roller coasters recently, so the Heavens have decided it's time to allow their people to let loose and have some fun for a little while. Through some magic - or possibly just a lot of money - they have managed to rent out an entire private beach for the event so that they won't be interrupted by any Near Shore residents. The beach is beautiful and well-maintained, the ocean goes for as far as the eye can see, and rocky outcroppings offer a handy place to dive into the water on a test of courage.

It's a beautiful summer day, perfect for swimming and cracking watermelons and playing some beach volleyball. There's even some soft music permeating the air so that nothing is every silent on this fun-filled day.

New arrivals, after having been met at the Meeting Hall, would have been immediately redirected to this party. After all, they should be enjoying themselves as well.



Swimwear

Anyone who doesn't have swimwear will be provided with swimwear to fit their needs. Unfortunately, the Heavens don't have access to a lot of swimwear, so you'll likely wind up with something ugly, something old, or something just plain weird.

Playful Fish

The sea critters are excited about the party too. They're happy to swim up to anyone in the water and will even come up to the shallows to take a look at the fun happening on the shore. Toe nibbling and brushes of scales are in your future, so you'd better get used to the idea if you plan on being in the water.

Barbecue

Some basics have been provided, but everyone has been asked to bring a little something to the barbecue as well if they can. So you're more than welcome to grab one of the many grills and start frying things up. Heck, there are even fishing poles available if you feel like hauling in a few of those friendly fish to grill. Additionally, summery drinks have been provided, including iced tea, lemonade, water, and horribly fruity cocktails.

After Dark

Just because the sun is down doesn't mean that the party's stopping! The barbecue will continue well into the night, lit now by the stars and a huge, roaring bonfire. The bonfire is maintained by Amaterasu's shinki and climbs higher than any bonfire has the right to. Also, there are floating lights in the water so that people can continue swimming now that it's dark. And if you happen to get too drunk to go home, don't worry. A white-clad shinki will be happy to put you back to bed at the end of the night. Additionally, some sparklers and small bottle rockets have been provided for your entertainment.

[his voice is soft, a kind of wonder in his tone. The very idea is... well he can't say he's never considered having a family. Of course he has. There isn't the pressure Ryoma would have in a few years, but that didn't mean he wasn't interested in the idea.

He was also terrified that he would mess a child up to the point of no repair. But Takumi was used to thinking that about anything he did- why should having a child be any different? Still, the idea was more wonderful then terrifying.]

Yes, but the default state is "unmarried and childless". And here I am, two people telling me that in two different....timelines, I suppose, I am neither.

[he gives Leo a pointed look. He doesn't have to say it- we could be enemies again, we could be dead, we could be... well, anything.]

[something about Leo's words makes Takumi frown, his brow furrowing in a familiar and unhappy way]

Hardly. Clearly the only differences between what I know and what you know is I married your little sister and had a child. Nothing of actual importance has changed.

[he snaps and immediately regrets it. It's not like he WANTS Leo to think of him that way]

[And here we go again. Leo sighs softly.]

Takumi, remember I say this as a friend.

[A beat]

You are working yourself up into a panic over nothing of any importance. We experienced more or less the same events. That the events you experienced ended with us brothers in law means nothing--it meant nothing for Forrest and myself and it means nothing for us. You are my friend, and short you killing me or me killing you I don't see that changing any time soon.

[Takumi stares at him for a long moment, eyes set to fight a fight with no point and no winner.

...but he breaks and looks away, a bit of shame on his face. Leo was right of course- and after his body finally uncoils on the sand a bit he even smiles a little.]

You're surprisingly sentimental.

[Leo waves that off--he is not.

(He so is. He just won't admit it.)]

No, just sensible and frankly unwilling to let your anxiety run rampant when there's really no need for it to. I realize that's part of what anxiety is, but I obviously don't care that we have slightly different experiences so there's no need for you to.

[He turns away on the sand, though the slight redness creeping down his neck makes it clear he's just embarrassed, not turning away from Leo specifically]

...well, I guess I'll concede to you on this.
