There were certainly a lot of broken hearts and emotional roller coasters recently, so the Heavens have decided it's time to allow their people to let loose and have some fun for a little while. Through some magic - or possibly just a lot of money - they have managed to rent out an entire private beach for the event so that they won't be interrupted by any Near Shore residents. The beach is beautiful and well-maintained, the ocean goes for as far as the eye can see, and rocky outcroppings offer a handy place to dive into the water on a test of courage.

It's a beautiful summer day, perfect for swimming and cracking watermelons and playing some beach volleyball. There's even some soft music permeating the air so that nothing is every silent on this fun-filled day.

New arrivals, after having been met at the Meeting Hall, would have been immediately redirected to this party. After all, they should be enjoying themselves as well.



Swimwear

Anyone who doesn't have swimwear will be provided with swimwear to fit their needs. Unfortunately, the Heavens don't have access to a lot of swimwear, so you'll likely wind up with something ugly, something old, or something just plain weird.

Playful Fish

The sea critters are excited about the party too. They're happy to swim up to anyone in the water and will even come up to the shallows to take a look at the fun happening on the shore. Toe nibbling and brushes of scales are in your future, so you'd better get used to the idea if you plan on being in the water.

Barbecue

Some basics have been provided, but everyone has been asked to bring a little something to the barbecue as well if they can. So you're more than welcome to grab one of the many grills and start frying things up. Heck, there are even fishing poles available if you feel like hauling in a few of those friendly fish to grill. Additionally, summery drinks have been provided, including iced tea, lemonade, water, and horribly fruity cocktails.

After Dark

Just because the sun is down doesn't mean that the party's stopping! The barbecue will continue well into the night, lit now by the stars and a huge, roaring bonfire. The bonfire is maintained by Amaterasu's shinki and climbs higher than any bonfire has the right to. Also, there are floating lights in the water so that people can continue swimming now that it's dark. And if you happen to get too drunk to go home, don't worry. A white-clad shinki will be happy to put you back to bed at the end of the night. Additionally, some sparklers and small bottle rockets have been provided for your entertainment.

[ Hibiki does not mind! It sort of amuses her, actually. She likes knowing things other people don't.

She shrugs. ] I'm afraid I'm not much for team sports.

[ Or for being bothered. Though. Hm. Who else is playing? ]

[He'll probably forever think she's a he until someone corrects him properly then.

He grins, not noticing she doesn't want to be bothered at all.]

Aww. You like reading scripts better, right? What's that one about?

[Sora can sometimes be a musical theatre nerd, so he is a little curious. If she's not gonna come along for volleyball find out more about this!]

[ If she hadn't been in the middle of something, Hibiki might have answered him - it may very well be her obligation to foster an interest in the arts now, after all. But she'd rather people-watch than talk to this rather nondescript fellow.

Even if he interests her by seeming honestly intrigued by the script. Hadn't seen the type.

A compromise, then. She offers him the book. ] Would you like to read it?

[ Say, maybe, over there? Not under her umbrella? ]

[Hah. Hah. That's funny, thinking Sora will go read this somewhere else. Cute.]

Sure! I'd love to! Thanks!

[And he'll take it and sit down right next to her on the sand.]

What's your name? I'm Sora or my working name Baldr, god of light and forgiveness. [And a bunch of other things.]

...The light might be better over there. [ She nods to a spot much further away from her. No name, either. Just that.

Look. The air over where she's indicated is even starting to glitter invitingly. Clearly that is the optimal location for reading an extremely florid script.

And this is the best way to experiment with those godly illusion powers she supposedly now possesses. ]

[But Sora is okay right where he is? The sparkling does catch his eye and he glances over and is distracted for the time being.]

That's... weird.

[How's that happening? He glances back at her.]

I'm okay checking out this script here, though? I can see the pages.

Your loss.

[ Wow, that spot looks great, over there. Not only is there nice light, but the sand looks extra-soft. And it's gotten darker under the umbrella, too.

Maybe a cloud is hitting this area weirdly. ]

[oathkeeper]

[Sora glances up as the area gets darker and then back at the other. He's not sure what's going on but he starts flipping through the pages of the script. He scans the first page and starts reading before he pauses and looks at the sparkly beach spot again.]

You know, when people are new around here it's usually nice to make some new friends. You're not gonna tell me your name?

[He grins lightly.]

[ Hibiki had been in the middle of reaching for her teacup to take a calming sip when Sora speaks up again. She sputters at the mention of the word "friends", and has to lower her cup to dab her mouth with a handkerchief. ]

Sorry, but I'm not in the market for...that.

[ She can say the word. Of course she can say the word. She got over that little difficulty a long time ago!

But being able to say the word and it not feeling disgusting in her mouth are two different things. ]

[oathkeeper]

[That response has Sora laughing.]

You're weird! Who's not in the market for friends? But! You don't buy friends anyway? That's a weird thing to say!

[The amusement sparkles in his eyes and once his laughter settles he smiles at her.]

Come on, I've never seen you around here before. It wouldn't hurt to get to know some people. Sometimes gods from the same Parthenon take care of each other. It's pretty important.

[ He's not going to give up until she caves, is he. Hibiki frowns, looks away. ] Check the title page.

[ That very script you're holding has a name written in the top corner of said page! What a coincidence. ]

[oathkeeper]

[Sora raises an eyebrow and then looks. Reading the flourished name he grins up at her.]

It's nice to meet you, Hibiki.

[That wasn't so hard, was it? Well. Kind of. But he's happy.]

If you need any help around here, let me know. I've been here for a while so I know my stuff.

[priforprince]

I'm sure.

[ On the one hand, that's very convenient. Someone is delivering a service right to Hibiki's door.

On the other hand, she likes picking and choosing her sources (and, frankly, her everything) herself. And nothing this gentleman has done thus far encourages her to trust his opinion.

She swirls the tea around in her teacup, watching the ice cubes clink against the sides. This is more interesting than Sora, apparently.

But, drat him. She is thinking of things to ask... ]

[It's good to ask questions, Hibiki. He might look like a boring cinnamon bun but Sora is actually one of the strongest gods on the far shore. (alongside your twin, Hibiki!!) But Sora isn't a boastful person or someone who would start a conversation with that.

But Sora has no trouble with continuing the conversation himself.]

Have you gotten to see some of the bigger shrines and temples? They're really amazing. You can learn a lot from them too! The Dewa Sanzan shrines are my favorite. The mountains are great.

I haven't been permitted that liberty.

[ Without her script Hibiki has nothing to pretend to be doing. She supposes she could conjure an illusion of something, but that affects caring about this more than she's determined to care.

Propping her chin up on one hand, she looks out over the sea. And thinks. About this pest. About...many things.

About using the pawns that appear on her board. ]

...have you really been....all over?

[oathkeeper]

[Sora nods enthusiastically.]

Almost! I think, at least. There's always stuff I've noticed I didn't before. But I've been to a lot of shrines. And I'm just starting to check out some of the abandoned temples around the heavens too. Could be something interesting, you know?

[Insert JRPG protagonist going on adventures here.]

But yeah! Been to most of the temples and that weird forest too.

Then, disclose the location of the nearest PriPara entrance.

[ And she can get off this beach and doing something worthwhile. Surveillance will go much better with all her supplies.

And with Ando. Ando is also one of her supplies. ]

Immediately.

[Sora looks puzzled...]

Is PriPara a shrine or temple in Japan?

what? ]

[ Note all of the not laughing that is occurring. ]

[oathkeeper]

[Wait, what? Is she mad? Weren't they talking about temples and shrines? Why is she mad?

He sort of hangs onto the script for the time being, not letting go just yet. He's too curious now.]

No, really, what is Pripara? Maybe I can help you find it?

[priforprince]

There are limits to ignorance!

[ And yours surpasses them. Standing, Hibiki sticks her hand out. ] Now.

[oathkeeper]

[Sora stands too, keeping the script out of reach.]

Ignorance? If you tell me then I could look it up! How am I supposed to know where a place is if I haven't been there yet?

[He's trying to help?????????]

Unhand my property!

[ This is such a fruitful conversation. Also, it just got really dark beneath this umbrella. ]

[oathkeeper]

[Sora grins and laughs and bounces away from her.]

Nah! Not until you tell me about PriPara!!

YOU DON'T DESERVE TO SPEAK THAT NAME!

[ Fine. She'll take the script herself.

Hibiki moves to try and swipe it back. She's pretty fast! ]
