There were certainly a lot of broken hearts and emotional roller coasters recently, so the Heavens have decided it's time to allow their people to let loose and have some fun for a little while. Through some magic - or possibly just a lot of money - they have managed to rent out an entire private beach for the event so that they won't be interrupted by any Near Shore residents. The beach is beautiful and well-maintained, the ocean goes for as far as the eye can see, and rocky outcroppings offer a handy place to dive into the water on a test of courage.

It's a beautiful summer day, perfect for swimming and cracking watermelons and playing some beach volleyball. There's even some soft music permeating the air so that nothing is every silent on this fun-filled day.

New arrivals, after having been met at the Meeting Hall, would have been immediately redirected to this party. After all, they should be enjoying themselves as well.



Swimwear

Anyone who doesn't have swimwear will be provided with swimwear to fit their needs. Unfortunately, the Heavens don't have access to a lot of swimwear, so you'll likely wind up with something ugly, something old, or something just plain weird.

Playful Fish

The sea critters are excited about the party too. They're happy to swim up to anyone in the water and will even come up to the shallows to take a look at the fun happening on the shore. Toe nibbling and brushes of scales are in your future, so you'd better get used to the idea if you plan on being in the water.

Barbecue

Some basics have been provided, but everyone has been asked to bring a little something to the barbecue as well if they can. So you're more than welcome to grab one of the many grills and start frying things up. Heck, there are even fishing poles available if you feel like hauling in a few of those friendly fish to grill. Additionally, summery drinks have been provided, including iced tea, lemonade, water, and horribly fruity cocktails.

After Dark

Just because the sun is down doesn't mean that the party's stopping! The barbecue will continue well into the night, lit now by the stars and a huge, roaring bonfire. The bonfire is maintained by Amaterasu's shinki and climbs higher than any bonfire has the right to. Also, there are floating lights in the water so that people can continue swimming now that it's dark. And if you happen to get too drunk to go home, don't worry. A white-clad shinki will be happy to put you back to bed at the end of the night. Additionally, some sparklers and small bottle rockets have been provided for your entertainment.

If it helps I beat him pretty must constantly in shogi so if you wanna see him lose that badly just watch that instead. It's pretty hilarious.

Oh no, he's not bad at all! Honestly he's the best opponent I've ever had. He just hasn't been playing as long as I have.

Neither is chess with Leo. When you know the outcome, there's no point in watching.

[he pauses, not wanting to sour the mood more but unable NOT to- he does and always will lack his brother's ability to read a mood and stop his words if he should.]

You don't seem to like him much.

He said that you weren't getting along. But even if he hadn't it's kinda obvious.

And no, he didn't send me over here to get onto you or anything like that. He probably has no idea I'm even over here.

He says one thing and acts a different way. He makes it hard to trust him.

[Plus that whole thing with Gojyo wasn't exactly a great thing for his trust.]

Am I supposed to pretend it's all okay?

[He doesn't know the details, but he DOES know Leo can be hard to get along with- their own friendship had started very badly]

He can be an insufferable jackass. But hell, so can I so what do I know? I DO think he wants to get along with you though.

Then maybe he should act like it. Rather than acting like everything I do exhausts him or angers him.

[He shakes his head.]

I helped his son out during a recent zombie attack. Took him until hours later, after he had caused both his son and myself so much trouble to properly thank me for it. Seemed like it was more of a 'trying to calm Niles down' than an actual thank you.

[He has a feeling why Leo might have acted that way though- at least from his own perspective. One's retainer was a constant shadow, and their help was such a obvious thing as the sun rising and setting the odds are Leo didn't think it was imperative to make a note of it.

Didn't make it OKAY, but understandable. But there's no way for him to explain that to Niles.]

I'm not here to make excuses for him, but I know he needs your support. But... it's up to you if you're willing to give it. No one can make you do anything you wouldn't already want to do.

[He can't FORCE Niles to become the man Leo knew- even if he wants to for his friend's sake. It' would be the greatest hypocrisy coming from Takumi of all people]

If he needs my support, he should learn to tell me those things on his own.

[Niles was probably never going to get it. Never going to be okay with it. What was being asked was a lot. He was basically being asked to forget everything that was going on and accept that hey, maybe Leo wasn't so bad?

Get real.]

The fact that someone else has to sit and listen to this besides him makes me doubtful that it'd be worth going back.

[Takumi huffs slightly, but doesn't argue the point. Niles isn't wrong, but that's never stopped him from an fight before, so it's a struggle]
