There were certainly a lot of broken hearts and emotional roller coasters recently, so the Heavens have decided it's time to allow their people to let loose and have some fun for a little while. Through some magic - or possibly just a lot of money - they have managed to rent out an entire private beach for the event so that they won't be interrupted by any Near Shore residents. The beach is beautiful and well-maintained, the ocean goes for as far as the eye can see, and rocky outcroppings offer a handy place to dive into the water on a test of courage.

It's a beautiful summer day, perfect for swimming and cracking watermelons and playing some beach volleyball. There's even some soft music permeating the air so that nothing is every silent on this fun-filled day.

New arrivals, after having been met at the Meeting Hall, would have been immediately redirected to this party. After all, they should be enjoying themselves as well.



Swimwear

Anyone who doesn't have swimwear will be provided with swimwear to fit their needs. Unfortunately, the Heavens don't have access to a lot of swimwear, so you'll likely wind up with something ugly, something old, or something just plain weird.

Playful Fish

The sea critters are excited about the party too. They're happy to swim up to anyone in the water and will even come up to the shallows to take a look at the fun happening on the shore. Toe nibbling and brushes of scales are in your future, so you'd better get used to the idea if you plan on being in the water.

Barbecue

Some basics have been provided, but everyone has been asked to bring a little something to the barbecue as well if they can. So you're more than welcome to grab one of the many grills and start frying things up. Heck, there are even fishing poles available if you feel like hauling in a few of those friendly fish to grill. Additionally, summery drinks have been provided, including iced tea, lemonade, water, and horribly fruity cocktails.

After Dark

Just because the sun is down doesn't mean that the party's stopping! The barbecue will continue well into the night, lit now by the stars and a huge, roaring bonfire. The bonfire is maintained by Amaterasu's shinki and climbs higher than any bonfire has the right to. Also, there are floating lights in the water so that people can continue swimming now that it's dark. And if you happen to get too drunk to go home, don't worry. A white-clad shinki will be happy to put you back to bed at the end of the night. Additionally, some sparklers and small bottle rockets have been provided for your entertainment.

Sunburns hurt a lot, so I hope so. Do you like being his shinki?

[There's a pause. On one hand, she doesn't deserve to know about all of his issues. All of his problems. The fact that he's so disappointed and unhappy with being Leo's shinki that he occasionally wonders if Hakkai all those weeks back wasn't wrong.

But on the other hand, he can't lie to a little girl.

So, he quickly strikes up a compromise in his head.]

It's not always easy. However, I am thankful to him. Every day.

[ She almost regrets asking that question when she sees the conflicted expression flicker across his face in response and she's opening her mouth to take it back when he finally answers. Which gives the little girl pause and she takes a moment to think about that, chewing on her lower lip. ]

I guess things can't always be easy, huh? But if he's important to you, that's still good, right?

[ But she lets him change the subject, glancing up at him with a smile once more. ]

I made sandcastles! And collected looots of seashells. And there were fish in the ocean and they swam right up to you! I went swimming and watched someone catch a reeeeally big fish, too. [ It was a very busy day, and it was all exciting. ] What about you? Did you have fun?

Yeah. He is important to me. Not everything can be easy, but you have to deal with the bad to get to the good.

[He feels bad to unleash that on her. She's a small girl, and she doesn't deserve to know the evils of the world just yet. Being close to her makes him feel... really weird.

But not in a bad way.]

Did you? Sounds like a good busy day. I'm surprised you haven't fallen asleep yet!

[Did he have fun?

Yes.]

I did. Met new people, got to see the entire beach, even got a little washed up, but it was all in good fun.

[ Surprisingly enough, the little girl nods in complete understanding. or at least she thinks she gets it. ]

Sometimes me and my dad fight. I got mad at him sometimes. But he's still important to me. And sometimes we would have fun, too.

I don't wanna sleep! [ She's very emphatic about this. ] I wanna just stay here forever. Or as long as I can. If I go to sleep, that means today will be over.
