There were certainly a lot of broken hearts and emotional roller coasters recently, so the Heavens have decided it's time to allow their people to let loose and have some fun for a little while. Through some magic - or possibly just a lot of money - they have managed to rent out an entire private beach for the event so that they won't be interrupted by any Near Shore residents. The beach is beautiful and well-maintained, the ocean goes for as far as the eye can see, and rocky outcroppings offer a handy place to dive into the water on a test of courage.

It's a beautiful summer day, perfect for swimming and cracking watermelons and playing some beach volleyball. There's even some soft music permeating the air so that nothing is every silent on this fun-filled day.

New arrivals, after having been met at the Meeting Hall, would have been immediately redirected to this party. After all, they should be enjoying themselves as well.



Swimwear

Anyone who doesn't have swimwear will be provided with swimwear to fit their needs. Unfortunately, the Heavens don't have access to a lot of swimwear, so you'll likely wind up with something ugly, something old, or something just plain weird.

Playful Fish

The sea critters are excited about the party too. They're happy to swim up to anyone in the water and will even come up to the shallows to take a look at the fun happening on the shore. Toe nibbling and brushes of scales are in your future, so you'd better get used to the idea if you plan on being in the water.

Barbecue

Some basics have been provided, but everyone has been asked to bring a little something to the barbecue as well if they can. So you're more than welcome to grab one of the many grills and start frying things up. Heck, there are even fishing poles available if you feel like hauling in a few of those friendly fish to grill. Additionally, summery drinks have been provided, including iced tea, lemonade, water, and horribly fruity cocktails.

After Dark

Just because the sun is down doesn't mean that the party's stopping! The barbecue will continue well into the night, lit now by the stars and a huge, roaring bonfire. The bonfire is maintained by Amaterasu's shinki and climbs higher than any bonfire has the right to. Also, there are floating lights in the water so that people can continue swimming now that it's dark. And if you happen to get too drunk to go home, don't worry. A white-clad shinki will be happy to put you back to bed at the end of the night. Additionally, some sparklers and small bottle rockets have been provided for your entertainment.

The opinion of someone who doesn't care about food except to survive shouldn't be that important to you, then. I already said no.

[Apparently, that was not the right argument to get him to back down any on this. It'd probably be different if he actually reciprocated her feelings of friendship at this point, but right now it just feels to him like she's trying to railroad him into it, and that feeling is only making him resist more.]

[Hajime stares up at him for a long while, the fork still out. She stands there stubbornly, her eyes narrowed a bit and cheeks puffed out. It's one bite and he's fighting her so much on it. She does't get him sometimes. If only Yuto was around but that would a cheating and not her style. She wants to share with Shun herself, no matter how much he wants to fight her on it. It doesn't matter if he doesn't return her feelings, they're still going to be there out for everyone to see.

But she does sign, twirling the fork slowly between her fingers.]

Kurororo-kun, you're like a mountain.

No, Yuto's important to you. You just decided I was too because I'm connected to him.

[The remark isn't even derisive or spiteful, or toned anything worse than a complete neutral. It's just stated as if it's complete fact, which it may as well be from Shun's point of view. He has very specific ideas of what constitutes friendship and being important to someone, and while Hajime is unquestionably an ally at this point, he sees no reason why he should be any more important to her than anyone else here.

At least she seems to be easing down a bit, though, and Shun's general bearing gets much less agitated with it. When her sigh ends up leading into that remark, though, Shun has to raise an eyebrow, along with questioning why everyone he knows seems to be so fond of throwing oblique metaphors and references at him.]

What's that supposed to mean?

[Wow Shun, don't be rude. Hajime just keeps starting up at him, frown tugging at the corner of her lips. She steps towards him, if he doesn't step back they're going to be toe-to-toe. She points to herself with her freehand]

I decide whose is important to me! It doesn't matter the reason. You don't need to be connected to Yuto for that. We've had fun and done things that didn't involve Yuto. Kuroro-kun, don't sell yourself short like that, it's no good!

[Sure it may have sparked their first meeting but she doesn't stick around Shun purely for that reason. She frowns at him.]

What do you think it means, Kuroro-kun? What's a mountain to you?

[Given Shun hasn't even stood up yet, he doesn't step back when Hajime steps forward. In fact, he doesn't move at all, except for raising his head a little further to stare Hajime straight in the eyes.]

Rarely. You know nothing about me except things I've told you for Yuto's sake, I know nothing about you. I'm not selling myself short, I'm saying it takes more than whatever it is you think we have to call someone "important" or a "friend". Don't those words have any meaning to you at all?

[This isn't the first person he's had a similar argument with, but this is the first time it's gotten quite this far. His tone is back to something a little acidic now, largely because this is the one point he can never understand from people who want to be nice to him.]

If I'm talking to you, it could be anything. But going by this, I'm going to guess you mean some kind of blockade.

[Hajime stares right back at him, his words have a bit of a sting to them but she doesn't noticeably show any feeling to it.]

I don't think you know friendship that well either. I know things about you that you haven't told me. Not everything takes words, Kuroro-kun. We've been in this place together for awhile. If you don't think we know enough about each other then don't be shy and hang out with me, let me hang out with you.

[She claps her hands together before lifting two fingers by her cheek. Her smile still isn't there, not this time.]

We may have different meanings for words but that doesn't change their value. Don't belittle feelings, Kuroro-kun.
