There were certainly a lot of broken hearts and emotional roller coasters recently, so the Heavens have decided it's time to allow their people to let loose and have some fun for a little while. Through some magic - or possibly just a lot of money - they have managed to rent out an entire private beach for the event so that they won't be interrupted by any Near Shore residents. The beach is beautiful and well-maintained, the ocean goes for as far as the eye can see, and rocky outcroppings offer a handy place to dive into the water on a test of courage.

It's a beautiful summer day, perfect for swimming and cracking watermelons and playing some beach volleyball. There's even some soft music permeating the air so that nothing is every silent on this fun-filled day.

New arrivals, after having been met at the Meeting Hall, would have been immediately redirected to this party. After all, they should be enjoying themselves as well.



Swimwear

Anyone who doesn't have swimwear will be provided with swimwear to fit their needs. Unfortunately, the Heavens don't have access to a lot of swimwear, so you'll likely wind up with something ugly, something old, or something just plain weird.

Playful Fish

The sea critters are excited about the party too. They're happy to swim up to anyone in the water and will even come up to the shallows to take a look at the fun happening on the shore. Toe nibbling and brushes of scales are in your future, so you'd better get used to the idea if you plan on being in the water.

Barbecue

Some basics have been provided, but everyone has been asked to bring a little something to the barbecue as well if they can. So you're more than welcome to grab one of the many grills and start frying things up. Heck, there are even fishing poles available if you feel like hauling in a few of those friendly fish to grill. Additionally, summery drinks have been provided, including iced tea, lemonade, water, and horribly fruity cocktails.

After Dark

Just because the sun is down doesn't mean that the party's stopping! The barbecue will continue well into the night, lit now by the stars and a huge, roaring bonfire. The bonfire is maintained by Amaterasu's shinki and climbs higher than any bonfire has the right to. Also, there are floating lights in the water so that people can continue swimming now that it's dark. And if you happen to get too drunk to go home, don't worry. A white-clad shinki will be happy to put you back to bed at the end of the night. Additionally, some sparklers and small bottle rockets have been provided for your entertainment.

I was just going to get something for myself. Anyway, when you talk about far worse things, are you talking about the zombies or whatever that happened?

[The first comment doesn't even get a reaction out of Shun, and he simply waits for the actual answer to come. When it does, he doesn't seem surprised or even that disapproving, he just sighs quietly. While he can't see why anyone would want to drink the stuff himself, if she wants to try it then it's not really his business other than to make sure she doesn't drink enough to hurt herself, especially when they have people like Amaterasu who look as young as her but definitely aren't actually that young.]

I doubt there's many people here who'd even make that much of a fuss about you getting alcohol when we're from so many different worlds that at least a few wouldn't even have rules against that sort of thing. And the zombies are just part of what I mean, because that's not the only attack we've had at a gathering like this.

[Figuring she's probably going to want what she came for before getting into that part of the conversation, Shun steps over to the table, still keeping an eye on her out of force of habit.] Might as well tell me what colour you want so you can stop lurking there.

You’d be surprised, then. Some of the people here would definitely get upset.

[And it’s not just because she saw Anderson get scolded either from a distance. Throughout the day, she’s had plenty of encounters with people who’ve clearly found her young age an important factor. Instinctively, she can tell that if any of them saw her drinking something alcoholic…]

[It shouldn’t bug her as much as it does, she knows. After all, isn’t she a child? But it’s just- frustrating.]

[At least there’s apparently someone who doesn’t think that way, and she trails after him, frowning a little at what he’s told her before.]

A pink one. And why? Is it because there’s so many people together?

They need to mind their own damn business, then. It doesn't make a difference how old you are as long as you're sensible enough not to drink stupid amounts, and most adults don't even pass that bar.

[Plucking a pink bottle out of the cooler with one hand, he offers it back to her, holding it by the neck. If she spent this long loitering just to get one bottle, he finds it highly unlikely she's going to get the chance to drink herself stupid.

As for her questions, the shadow of a grimace crosses his face, and he turns more fully back to her to discuss it.]

Basically. There's someone who wants Amaterasu and the rest of the Heavens brought down, and they couldn't care less about the collateral damage. Events like this give them a good target. I'm not here for the sake of the party, I'm here to keep an eye out for that.
