There were certainly a lot of broken hearts and emotional roller coasters recently, so the Heavens have decided it's time to allow their people to let loose and have some fun for a little while. Through some magic - or possibly just a lot of money - they have managed to rent out an entire private beach for the event so that they won't be interrupted by any Near Shore residents. The beach is beautiful and well-maintained, the ocean goes for as far as the eye can see, and rocky outcroppings offer a handy place to dive into the water on a test of courage.

It's a beautiful summer day, perfect for swimming and cracking watermelons and playing some beach volleyball. There's even some soft music permeating the air so that nothing is every silent on this fun-filled day.

New arrivals, after having been met at the Meeting Hall, would have been immediately redirected to this party. After all, they should be enjoying themselves as well.



Swimwear

Anyone who doesn't have swimwear will be provided with swimwear to fit their needs. Unfortunately, the Heavens don't have access to a lot of swimwear, so you'll likely wind up with something ugly, something old, or something just plain weird.

Playful Fish

The sea critters are excited about the party too. They're happy to swim up to anyone in the water and will even come up to the shallows to take a look at the fun happening on the shore. Toe nibbling and brushes of scales are in your future, so you'd better get used to the idea if you plan on being in the water.

Barbecue

Some basics have been provided, but everyone has been asked to bring a little something to the barbecue as well if they can. So you're more than welcome to grab one of the many grills and start frying things up. Heck, there are even fishing poles available if you feel like hauling in a few of those friendly fish to grill. Additionally, summery drinks have been provided, including iced tea, lemonade, water, and horribly fruity cocktails.

After Dark

Just because the sun is down doesn't mean that the party's stopping! The barbecue will continue well into the night, lit now by the stars and a huge, roaring bonfire. The bonfire is maintained by Amaterasu's shinki and climbs higher than any bonfire has the right to. Also, there are floating lights in the water so that people can continue swimming now that it's dark. And if you happen to get too drunk to go home, don't worry. A white-clad shinki will be happy to put you back to bed at the end of the night. Additionally, some sparklers and small bottle rockets have been provided for your entertainment.

It's normal. Though I can understand if this isn't something you'd see back in your world.

We do not mix so - so freely, I suppose. At home, such a gathering would be... [clothed] It would probably be chaperoned at the very least. Are you from a world like this?

Memories were always forbidden for shinki unless they can remember things gradually on their own.

But remembering can hurt and there's a risk.

Izumo quickly smiles.]

I'm not sure. [He gives a shrug.] But this is something that I'm used to.

[Oh. Of course.

[Well, that puts being embarrassed into some sort of perspective. Or, at least, being straightforwardly embarrassed about an occurence that was completely out of his control, as opposed to bringing completely deservedly embarrassed it home to a total stranger that they had no idea who they were.]

I am sorry. I... find it far too easy to forget what being a shinki means. [One would imagine that being a shinki previously would have helped, but no: not when you do not get to remember that much, either.] Have you been harmed?

There's no need to apologize. Judging from your words, it means that you've gone from a shinki to a god then? [Briefly, Izumo looks puzzled by the question.

So I was told, when I arrived. I am afraid I do not recall that time. It seems this place makes quite a habit of that.

[Someone here is obsessed with stealing memory.

[As for the consequences of finding yourself again-- is this something else he wasn't supposed to mention? If it was - well, that seems quite terrible, too. It must be quite bad enough losing everything without understanding why nobody would help you remember, too.]

And I have been told that forcing someone to remember their past can - I am not sure, but I have friends here from my own world, and I was told that sharing such things was dangerous. I do not wish to be the cause of that for anyone. You have not been harmed, have you?

He listens to Kija, listens to his reasoning and his expression softens.]

No, I haven't; though, I thank you for your concern. [A smile.] But yes, if you tell a shinki something that'll make them remember their past, it can result in terrible consequences. [Such as turning into an ayakashi.]
