There were certainly a lot of broken hearts and emotional roller coasters recently, so the Heavens have decided it's time to allow their people to let loose and have some fun for a little while. Through some magic - or possibly just a lot of money - they have managed to rent out an entire private beach for the event so that they won't be interrupted by any Near Shore residents. The beach is beautiful and well-maintained, the ocean goes for as far as the eye can see, and rocky outcroppings offer a handy place to dive into the water on a test of courage.

It's a beautiful summer day, perfect for swimming and cracking watermelons and playing some beach volleyball. There's even some soft music permeating the air so that nothing is every silent on this fun-filled day.

New arrivals, after having been met at the Meeting Hall, would have been immediately redirected to this party. After all, they should be enjoying themselves as well.



Swimwear

Anyone who doesn't have swimwear will be provided with swimwear to fit their needs. Unfortunately, the Heavens don't have access to a lot of swimwear, so you'll likely wind up with something ugly, something old, or something just plain weird.

Playful Fish

The sea critters are excited about the party too. They're happy to swim up to anyone in the water and will even come up to the shallows to take a look at the fun happening on the shore. Toe nibbling and brushes of scales are in your future, so you'd better get used to the idea if you plan on being in the water.

Barbecue

Some basics have been provided, but everyone has been asked to bring a little something to the barbecue as well if they can. So you're more than welcome to grab one of the many grills and start frying things up. Heck, there are even fishing poles available if you feel like hauling in a few of those friendly fish to grill. Additionally, summery drinks have been provided, including iced tea, lemonade, water, and horribly fruity cocktails.

After Dark

Just because the sun is down doesn't mean that the party's stopping! The barbecue will continue well into the night, lit now by the stars and a huge, roaring bonfire. The bonfire is maintained by Amaterasu's shinki and climbs higher than any bonfire has the right to. Also, there are floating lights in the water so that people can continue swimming now that it's dark. And if you happen to get too drunk to go home, don't worry. A white-clad shinki will be happy to put you back to bed at the end of the night. Additionally, some sparklers and small bottle rockets have been provided for your entertainment.

...did she? Maybe she met him before. Axel-sama, one way or another...seems like he's been around for awhile.

[She moves back to go and divide the fish. A quick taste test and...she turns back, with a bit of fish for him to taste.]

[He'll accept that, leaning down with his hand beneath it so that it doesn't drop as he takes the bit of fish.]

....I think it's better after that long.

[She bets he's hungry...]

[He's always hungry, really, as a side effect of being dead and a poor life before that, but he'll accept it anyway. Settling with his own plate, he nods.]

...She said he was her shinki.

[She basically starved to death herself, so she knows how it is. She's going to steal some of his mushrooms though.]

That sounds about right.

[She sighs.]

I didn't know him before, but he won't remember it either. Did anyone ever tell you about the incident?

[Well, he tried to steal her fish, so. Fair's fair. There's still a disgruntled noise however.]

You didn't even finish the first...

[...But it's a low price to pay, because he glances up at that.]

...No.

I'll finish the first. Besides, I think you got some good bites from me, so that makes up for it.

[Logic, she has it. But seeing as he isn't familiar with that, she shakes her head.]

He came here as a shinki first. You know how we're not supposed to remember our past or seek it out, right?

[She's rather disinterested, but it's a good thing to check out.]

[A simple nod. It took a little bit for as much to be explicitly told to him, but he'd had plenty of awkward moments- trying to remember things and shying away like a struck dog- that it had become clear even before that.]

[At least there's that much. She does the same thing sometimes, shying away from those dangerous thoughts.]

There were a couple of shinki, including him, who wanted to experiment with this. They didn't know the full implications though and...

They ensured that Axel-sama would know something from his former life. And that had him...turn into an ayakashi.

[Her voice dips low and soft.]

He had to be killed. He had been going on a rampage.

[kokuyoyo]

[Even knowing what "Yomi" had told him, that Axel had died... Somehow, hearing the details makes it a little worse. Jaw clenched, he bows his head with his hair hiding his expression from view.]

[If only he'd been.... but no. It wouldn't have mattered then, would it? The Axel of then had been a shinki, not the goddess Hestia- perhaps he would have been useless.]

[After a moment, he picks up his mushrooms and starts to move away.]

[Yeah, she had a feeling that he really wouldn't like hearing this truth. There's a reason why she didn't say the name of the person who went in with him on the experiment. She doesn't know that gods and shinki that ensured the fatal blow.

But she does move to touch him on the arm, peering up at his face.]

Chikusa.

[She doesn't force him to stay. But...]

If you come back later, I'll have more fish for you.

[It's not what he wants, nor what he needs in the least. But she is going to let him have his own space.]

[kokuyoyo]

[There's a slight rock of his body when she touches him, a nudge of his face to avoid eye contact, but he does, at least, nod before he continues his escape.]

[Where to even begin? It'd been worrying that Axel had died before, on its own, but to know the details.... That's not normal, is it, for a shinki to become an ayakashi to become a god, is it? How will that affect him? Will he revert one day? Will other gods come after him?]

[...How much part do the upper echelons of the Heavens play in it all?]

[It's.... a lot to go over with. To swallow and deal with. He needs to not deal with people for a little bit.]





[....But he's coming back for that fish, like, let's not pretend he won't]

[She thought he might need time to work through all of this. Who knows what's going through his head right now; maybe it's just white noise.

...but really she knows that no matter what he's trying to process, he's going to come back for the food. Let's not kid ourselves here.

He's like a stray animal that always looks for scraps like that.]
