There were certainly a lot of broken hearts and emotional roller coasters recently, so the Heavens have decided it's time to allow their people to let loose and have some fun for a little while. Through some magic - or possibly just a lot of money - they have managed to rent out an entire private beach for the event so that they won't be interrupted by any Near Shore residents. The beach is beautiful and well-maintained, the ocean goes for as far as the eye can see, and rocky outcroppings offer a handy place to dive into the water on a test of courage.

It's a beautiful summer day, perfect for swimming and cracking watermelons and playing some beach volleyball. There's even some soft music permeating the air so that nothing is every silent on this fun-filled day.

New arrivals, after having been met at the Meeting Hall, would have been immediately redirected to this party. After all, they should be enjoying themselves as well.



Swimwear

Anyone who doesn't have swimwear will be provided with swimwear to fit their needs. Unfortunately, the Heavens don't have access to a lot of swimwear, so you'll likely wind up with something ugly, something old, or something just plain weird.

Playful Fish

The sea critters are excited about the party too. They're happy to swim up to anyone in the water and will even come up to the shallows to take a look at the fun happening on the shore. Toe nibbling and brushes of scales are in your future, so you'd better get used to the idea if you plan on being in the water.

Barbecue

Some basics have been provided, but everyone has been asked to bring a little something to the barbecue as well if they can. So you're more than welcome to grab one of the many grills and start frying things up. Heck, there are even fishing poles available if you feel like hauling in a few of those friendly fish to grill. Additionally, summery drinks have been provided, including iced tea, lemonade, water, and horribly fruity cocktails.

After Dark

Just because the sun is down doesn't mean that the party's stopping! The barbecue will continue well into the night, lit now by the stars and a huge, roaring bonfire. The bonfire is maintained by Amaterasu's shinki and climbs higher than any bonfire has the right to. Also, there are floating lights in the water so that people can continue swimming now that it's dark. And if you happen to get too drunk to go home, don't worry. A white-clad shinki will be happy to put you back to bed at the end of the night. Additionally, some sparklers and small bottle rockets have been provided for your entertainment.

[Chikusa goes quiet, blinking a few times and, frankly, looking almost as lost as when he'd first woken up with no idea of what to do with his (after)life. The idea of himself dating still seems silly, something he can't comprehend or see himself doing because of how it might interfere, but... his god...]

[He really has no idea what to say to that.]

[She pats his arm. There there little shinki, you don't have to be a weapon all the time.]

Consider it just in case, so you don't get jealous or anything, and hurt him by accident.

[Honestly, he can't even say he wouldn't hurt him by accident, because wow this feelings bond is bullshit??? Honestly???? So he just sort of sulks, but doesn't deny the possibility.]

[Yeah it's bothersome, but whatca gonna do.]

What, dating or kissing?

Kissing.

[And then, as he starts to slide the mushrooms onto a nearby plate-]

You don't, either.

[She puffs up her cheeks.]

Maybe I like kissing.

Is that a life skill you learned?

[Deadpan as usual, and he nudges his glasses up with the non-business end of his spatula.]

[She opens her mouth...thinks about it. Closes her mouth. Then she nods.]

Uh huh.

[kokuyoyo]

[What was that thinking for... Lowering the heat on the grill he slices a piece of mushroom off and just holds it out to her.]

If you say so.

Oh, thank you.

[She'll take a piece, thank you.]

And you know, if you don't believe me? I could prove it.

[A huff.]

Though you'll have too bend down.

[Too tall Italian...]

[And with that, wordlessly, he leans down, one hand lazily tucking his phone back into his pocket and then just staying there while the other hangs limp.]

[Not fair. He looks as cool as ice, and she...now that he's right there, her heart is going a little too fast. But challenge taken up.

Blowing out a breath and blushing, she steps over. Her hand smooths against his cheek, and she leans in, offering him a soft kiss on the lips.

Ha! Masaki...wins?]

[It's as she steps closer that he realizes... he's not really sure what one is supposed to do for a kiss. Since it probably won't be long, what should he do with his hands? His eyes? He still hasn't entirely decided when she touches him, something that makes a part of him twitch and grow- uncertain? Tentative?]

[...Huh.]

[In the end, he goes halfway, keeping his hands where they are and his eyes falling partially shut so that it doesn't feel as strange.]

Just this much then...?

[Masaki wins, on the account that Chikusa has no idea what he's doing.]

You...if I didn't know better, I'd say you were egging me on.

[She huffs, and sets his offered piece of mushroom down so she can use both hands.]

Here. You can cup my cheek, or touch my shoulder. Most people close their eyes when it happens.

And...

[She swallows, feeling her face go hot again as she cups his cheek,]

When I press my mouth to yours, you press back. Gently.

[She leans in again, blushing furiously.]

Like I did, before. You can change it too so you're kissing more of my upper or lower lip, and you can nuzzle.

L-like this.

[And she demonstrates, slowly, so he can learn by touch. She feels like a big flustered mess now.]

[He's really not, but it's just- it had felt surprisingly simple, for something so many people get worked up about. Before he can explain that, she's instructing him more, and he tugs his hand out from where it had been resting to carefully mimic the gesture she'd done for him just a moment ago. Despite the fact that they're at the beach and that he'd just been handling a grill, his palm is fairly cool. It's helped, perhaps, by the Rain ring on his finger.]

[There's actually a decent amount of care put into how he returns the kiss, following the steps she's laid out, before pulling away and thunking their foreheads together.]

...It seems familiar.

[Just smooched a girl, and he simply sounds thoughtful. Amazing. But he's being honest- something about this is pinging the same small bells of memory like whenever he's puzzled out something about himself.]

[It was pretty simple for people to get worked up over. She was pretty red when she kissed him-and his hand is surprisingly cool, but welcome with the heat of the day.

Which helps because the amount of care gets her all sorts of flustered.]

Is that right?

[She huffs quietly. And just for the lackluster reaction (though she expected it) she nips him on the lip.]

So you did know how. Guess that means you don't need any lessons.

[Funnily enough, although it doesn't even faintly hurt- more on him than her, really- the nip to his mouth actually makes his pale skin heat up a bit, and he blinks a few times.]

[...That's. Okay, he supposes that was a reaction.]

Familiar but not exact. More-

[And he ducks closer again, a quick kiss-like motion on each of her cheeks. Not an actual kiss, just an Italian greeting.]

Like that.

...Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places for skills...

[...That was more of a reaction then she expected. Did he like biting that much? Weird. Masaki blinks up at him, bemused.

Okay then. Next time she ever wants to kiss him again, she'll actually have to bite him.]

Maybe this isn't what you want to work on first?

[She shakes her head.]

I'm not familiar with kisses like that.

[Here, another lip bite. Grab and pull before letting go this time. Why? Because she wants to see what he'll do.]

So...I'm guess you'd rather learn cooking instead? What do they call them...domestic skills?

[Oh, hey, okay, they're doing this again. Good job, Masaki, the blush is staying firmly in place now. But he is giving her a pretty impressive dead look.]

...Now who's egging who on...

[She just offers him a bright, sunny smile. Aha! Now who's the blushing one? It's kind of cute too, even if he was looking at her all unimpressed.]

You started it. I'm just finishing it.

Weren’t you the one who said you could prove it?

[He is- okay, ‘innocent’ isn’t really a word to properly describe him, but he’s innocent in this one particular specific circumstance.]

[She huffs quietly. She doesn't want to believe he's completely innocent.]
