Who: Lavi and you! (One closed prompt for Niles a.k.a
deniles)
What: Lavi goofing off and possibly trying to get some sort of work done
When: June 10-11
Where: The Library and the Near Shore, Odin's Temple
Warnings: Niles is his own warning label.
1. Let’s Shop Till We Drop (The Near Shore)
[Money.
Lavi isn’t too surprised that there was still something out there that would require actual payment to buy stuff. It’s unfortunate, too, since Lavi’s been eying a nice-looking scarf that’s practically screaming his name.
Going out to the Near Shore was new to him, too, since Lavi’s sure that it’s too dangerous to get too close to the humans.
But right now: he needed to find some way to get money if he wanted to buy that scarf.
Guess it’s time to do a little job hunting.]
2. Learning From Our Gods (Library | Far Shore)
[Anyone who has seen Lavi’s latest post on the network would easily be able to find the redhead in the library, scanning through every book that he can get his hands on.
It’d be a surprise for anyone to see piles of books surrounding him.
Lavi’s currently hiding behind a wall of books he made, scraps of papers surrounding him as he jots down notes.
Anyone who ventures close enough would see that it’s just books on general history, countries, and even some languages.
Too bad someone will need to find a way to actually call his attention, though.]
3. A Date with a Stranger (Odin's Temple | Far Shore) (Closed to Niles)
[The tenth. Odin's temple, 8 pm. Don't be late.
It was the text that savidicus had sent him, arranging their 'date' so to speak. Lavi's not sure if he even wants to call it a date, but his curiosity was piqued and he wanted to meet this other shinki.
What's even better was Lavi's lack of knowledge if there was any sort of special protocol for entering another god's territory, but he couldn't let the man wait now, could he?
A quick scan as he tries to pinpoint anyone out before he calls out:]
Savidicus?

3. Fair warning, this is gonna be nsfw
As he's about to get ready for bed, and grab a book, he hears a voice... saying a familiar word. Blinking, he starts to head towards the entrance of the temple.
...Oh.
Well, Lavi is certainly his type.
Breathing.
But he's attractive in his own right as well. Very intriguing indeed.]
You are on time. Already, you're impressing me.
Haha, figured it would be
It would have been absolutely terrible if Niles ever told Lavi he almost forgot about their date. Definitely would've been a waste of his time in that case.
Ah, but the other man is coming now, so Lavi plasters on a smile.]
I always aim to please.
[A quick shift of smile to a playful grin and a wink.]

[He steps back into the temple, stepping to the side.]
I suggest you come in now. We wouldn't want to be out here all night.
[Although if that's what Lavi was interested in, maybe he'd find a new fun thing to do with people.]
no subject
True enough.
[He tilts his head to the side.]
So, do I get a name or should I just keep calling you savidicus?

Because D2 isn't afraid of being invasive, he pulls out a chair and sits down beside Lavi. When he's not noticed at all, he starts wondering what's such an interesting read, and leans forward against the table and tilts the book a little with a finger, so he can see the cover. It's not exactly polite, but he's trying to be a little subtle so he at least don't make him lose his place in the book. ]
no subject
It draws his attention over to D2, at least, a faint look of annoyance masking his face. Though, he does appreciate how he was at least trying to be careful so he doesn't lose his place.]
Did you need something?
no subject
Nope,
[ He removes his finger from the boon, and straightens up. ]
just wanted to see what you were so engrossed with.

[Zoro is lost, so lost he doesn't even know how he got to the library of all places. Maybe he could find another book like the one he found before, it looked interesting, and hey it looks like one of the books in that pile- oh my god there's a person here.]
Yo, do you know if you have a book on binding spells?
no subject
Eye wide, his head shoots up, blinking a few times to orient himself.
At the question, Lavi tilts his head and looks at the piles of books he has surrounding him. A book on binding spells?]
I might. Do you need it?
no subject
Yeah, I got one before but I didn't get a chance to read through it before it disappeared, and it looked useful, boring as hell, but useful.
So...
[He looks at the books, an eyebrow raised.]

[ He noticed the stack of books last minute. He bumped into them, and they came crashing down--he was going to pick them up, but before those books hit the ground, he realized they had landed on a person. ]
[ Whoops. ]

Quickly, he jerks back, eye wide even though he didn't quite manage to avoid one or two books from falling on him.]
Ow!

So then he walks across the street and 'accidentally' comes within viewing distance of Lavi looking for work.]
What's this? A wandering spirit so far from the far shore?
no subject
Not anyone he's seen, though to be fair, there were still plenty of people in the Far Shore that Lavi hasn't met yet. While Lavi straightens a bit from where he was peering curiously into a shop window in order to properly address the other man.]
What about you? [He smiles.] There are just some things you can't find on the Far Shore.
no subject
[He jerks a thumb at himself as if that wasn't obvious.]
It's my job to keep an eye out for such wandering spirits - pardon the expression.
[Schuldig's not actually sorry for that little joke, but he's decent at moving along and pretending he really didn't mean it.]
The burdens of being a god, you see.

[Bad news: he's absolutely, with no shame whatsoever, reaching over to filch one of those history books Lavi is looking into. Namely the one on Italy.]

But when he sees that hand, Lavi pulls back a bit in order to look at Chikusa.]
...Need something?
no subject
[But oh- he’s been noticed. Chikusa pauses briefly.]
That book.

2-library!
Lavi?
[Did he really read all of these? That's... impressive. She leans over for a better view of one of the titles.]
What's all this?
no subject
Research!
[Ah, right, library. He quickly quiets down.]
I decided it'd do some good to research while we're here. [A glance at the books she was holding.] Seems like you're doing some research yourself.
no subject
Ah, yes. I thought I ought to know a bit about the goddess I'm replacing.
[Cardia sets both of her books on the corner of the table.]

As she's found though, having a good fashion sense is expensive. She can make do with a few nice separates to mix and match, but creating a wardrobe from scratch takes more than just a discerning eye. She needs income. Which is why she finds herself here today at the street fair, because she has heard that they hire you right off the bat for a good bit of pocket money and a day's work. It should be enough to tide her over until she can find something more permanent.
She walks up to a nearby cream puff stand and announces herself. ]
Excuse me! I just saw the sign there that you're hiring for the day?
[ She glances at the boy standing idly around. Hey, she asked first, okay? ]
no subject
There's a brief look of amusement in his eye even if he is slightly startled. Well, who says girls can't take charge when they wanted a job?
Looking at her, too, it seems that she shared the same thought as him for wanting at least a little bit of income.
Too bad he won't let himself be beat.
Lavi doesn't take long to come after her, flashing a smile.]
Maybe enough hires for two?
[It's said thoughtfully, and the vendor in charge looks a bit startled before confirming that yes, they are hiring for the day and having both of them help out would be much appreciated.]
no subject
He waves them inside the booth. It's a cozy sort of space and it smells of sweet cream and pastry puffs. Hokuto pulls on an apron and then turns to give the boy a look when the manager's back is turned. ]
What's the big idea? [ she says to him under her breath. The manager turns around and Hokuto schools her face into a smile.
"Have either of you made pastries before?" the man asks. ]
I know how, [ Hokuto says importantly. Whether she's done it before is not a thing she'd remember. But for some reason, she's confident she can do this. ]
