Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!



Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.



Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

'Cause you're trying to hide it! [Obviously. Unfortunately, it's hard to deter that kind of curiosity without actually indulging it, unless one wants to be harassed until the curious person loses interest.]

[Uuuuuugh. On one hand, Chikusa knows he has the patience to just outwait anybody, if he really wanted. On the other hand, he doesn't necessarily have the energy for it.... especially with someone that's apparently so high energy as Ken is. For a second, he holds out by still tugging his shirt down, weighing his options, and then he sighs.]

No one's going to take off their clothes in public like this...

So show me somewhere else, byon! [And Ken immediately starts looking around for somewhere private for Chikusa to take his clothes off.

After a moment, he decides they can duck around the side of the temple, and starts hauling Chikusa up and toward the nearest corner. Judging by the rough handling, concern is a secondary (or nonexistent) factor compared to curiosity when it comes to this injury.]

[Chikusa lets himself be tugged and dragged along, going pretty damn slow for someone with as much leg as he has.]

This is so troublesome...

[Once it looks like they've reached the place Ken wants them to be, he looks carefully around and.... doesn't seem impressed. It's hard to tell if he's actually unimpressed or if his face is just. like that.]

Is this really the best you could think of...?

[Ken huffs and shoves him.] What do you want, a changing room? Show me already, byon!

[kokuyoyo]

[There's not even a reaction to the shove besides Chikusa righting himself, just another sigh before he tugs up his shirt. For someone who regularly filches food and has in fact amassed a small hoard to take back to the temple from the things that the local shinki have put out, he's far too lean.]

[And, wrapped over his ribs, are white bandages, blotted just faintly with pink.]

There... Now stop being annoying...

[And Ken, with absolutely zero thought apparent or present, promptly pokes the bandages. It's a lucky thing Chikusa's sense of pain is deadened in any case.] What'd you do, anyway? [Then he sniggers.] Yoyo too hard?

[kokuyoyo]

[The stitches are close to being almost fully healed, Ken.... don't make them worse. The commentary earns an eye roll.]

I was fighting someone.... obviously.

[junkyarddog]

Don't you turn into a yoyo, though? How do you hurt a yoyo? [Ken frowns. Chikusa told him he can't just bite things, so they can't fight normally, right? (Which is a super depressing thought. Ken wants to fight normally.) Axel's supposed to use them as weapons.]

[kokuyoyo]

When Axel-sama uses me to fight ayakashi.... but he wasn't there, and I wasn't fighting one of those.

[Well. He sort of was, but that wasn't what hurt him.]

[junkyarddog]

Ayakashi? [Ken tilts his head.] What were you fighting? And how come stuff can hurt us when we're already dead, byon?

[kokuyoyo]

You wouldn't get the answer...

[Also, Chikusa isn't 100% on why they can still be hurt when dead either, but the point remains.]

And ayakashi are.... monsters. Annoying things that target humans and us.... So they have to be destroyed.

[Chikusa doesn't really care about them, besides how disgusting they are, but if Axel says to destroy them, well, then destroy them Chikusa will. It's just that simple.]

Oh. [There's a long, thoughtful pause.] ...how come I can't just rip 'em apart?

[kokuyoyo]

Because they're diseased.

[Not really, but, listen. It's the easy way to say it.]

If you touch them with your bare skin, then the blight will spread all along your body... and too much will have you become one of them.

[junkyarddog]

Seriously?! [Ken's eyes widen.] Does that mean they all used to be shinki like us, byon?

[kokuyoyo]

Probably not all of them...

[A pause, and his lips twist.]

...But if you're going to be one of Axel-sama's shinki, then you need to know something important. So pay attention to this next part.... alright?

[junkyarddog]

[Another canine headtilt.] What's that?

[kokuyoyo]

First, don't try to remember things from when you were alive. Shinki get turned into ayakashi that way as well, if they're told about who they were before.

Understand?

[junkyarddog]

[Ken frowns.] I don't remember anything anyway, byon. [These instructions are confusing. Trying to remember something he has no memories of, to him, sounds like being told not to bite someone with the second mouth he doesn't have. He supposes, upon this bit of reflection, that it'd be cool to know where his cartridges came from, or where he got his animal abilities, but he honestly doesn't care all that much. All that matters is that he can do those things; the why isn't really important. It'd just be a cool bonus, not a necessary one. Certainly not one he'd be inclined to seek out, even if his own shinki instincts didn't turn him off the idea.]

Do people know who I was before, byon? [He scratches a cheek idly with a finger.] How do I stop 'em from telling me if they do?

[kokuyoyo]

Some might. In that case, just kill them before they say too much.

[...]

Or maiming would do, I guess.... [They don't have to leap STRAIGHT to murder.]

[junkyarddog]

[But murder is such a simple and straightforward solution. Ken frowns at the clarification as though that'd be more work, which from his perspective it actually is.] So...I'd have to maim their mouths or their throats, so they couldn't talk anymore...? That'd kill 'em anyway, byon.

[These children are on the same terrible wavelength.]

[kokuyoyo]

It depends.... [A roll of his shoulders.] But I guess you don't seem like you know how to be careful, so it's the same thing in the end...

[Seriously, there wasn't even a little bit of an attempt in what he watched.]

Anyway, the second thing is... If you have to talk about Axel-sama to someone or tell them your god, just say "Hestia" instead.

He said Hestia too, byon. [Ken frowns.] How come I can't just say Axel, though? [As far as Ken is concerned, Axel sounds way cooler.]

[kokuyoyo]

[Chikusa actually starts to look uncomfortable- not overtly, because Chikusa's emotions are buried under various layers of apathy, exhaustion, and depression, but it's certainly there in the slight twist of his mouth.]

Axel-sama has a... complicated past here. Some people might react strangely to his name. So until you know if they're trustworthy... Just be careful.

[junkyarddog]

Are you worried about him? [Ken leans in, studying Chikusa curiously. The signs of Chikusa's discomfort are subtle - or they would be, to anyone else. For some reason, though, they glow like beacons to Ken. It'll be awhile until he rediscovers the context for why that is.] Isn't he a god, byon? What can happen to a god?

[Ken just assumed a god was invincible, so he doesn't understand the idea of being worried over the well-being of one.]
