Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!

Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.

Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

[Good- this worked better than it did with Hibari. With Ken not attacking him, Chikusa carefully peers out at him before letting his arms fall away from his face. As long as his face doesn't get too damaged, then he really couldn't care much about what happens to most of his body...]

[Maybe it's for that reason that he's fine with setting his jaw stubbornly.]

No. It's true.

No it's not! [And Ken promptly socks Chikusa in the chest. Okay, so he's only attacking when provoked here.] You're not better than me, byon! Axel-sama needs me too!

[And that's where the anger - or terror, thinly veiled as anger - is coming from. If Chikusa is better than Ken, then Ken is superfluous, unimportant. Axel won't need him. Axel won't care about him. If Ken is bad or screws up, Axel won't have any reason to keep someone meaningless, not when he has someone better.]

[An 'oof' of air is punched out of him, but no register of pain still even though he's no longer quite curled up. What's more registering is... ]

[People and their emotions have always been a little tricky, at least to him. They're too intense, complex, something he doesn't think he's ever experienced or ever will. When he finds those who make sense to him even in a simple way, like Sanada's loyalty to his own new god... He finds himself turning towards them automatically for even a little bit of relief or something that he can understand.]

[Ken's anger, a smokescreen to his true emotions, is something Chikusa can't entirely understand, but.... Something about his words, instead, clicks. Needing to be needed...]

[His tongue flicks out, wetting his lips, and he doesn't look away from Ken.]

...He only needs good shinki. So you need to be good.

I can be good, just watch. [Ken huffs.]

Then you have to listen to me. Understand?

I'm not gonna listen to you if you're saying stupid stuff, byon. [Ken glares at Chikusa.] I'll do whatever Axel-sama needs, but you don't get to order me around and act like you're better.

[An idea sparks itself in his brain.] Helping me is helping Axel-sama, right? 'Cause it's better if Axel-sama has the best shinki, byon. So if you're being a jerk, you're not helping me, which means you're not helping Axel-sama, and then I don't have to listen to you. [There's an almost triumphant look on his face at having worked that one out, and for Ken that is pretty high-level reasoning.]

[...That's really good reasoning, and Chikusa doesn't like that this new shinki can get that one up on him, causing his eyes to narrow minutely. At the same time, it's a fact, and he's not some idiot who argues against those.]

[Ugh. Outwitted by a dog. It's not a nice feeling.]

So if I'm not a jerk... Then you'll listen to me?

[Ken considers this for a moment.] If it helps Axel-sama, I guess. [He doesn't intend on letting Chikusa boss him around even politely, unless it's expressly for Axel-sama.

He huffs and prods Chikusa's chest with a finger.] So are you saying you actually know how not to be a jerk, dumbass four-eyes?

[With no particular effort behind it, he tries to bat Ken's finger away.]

Should you really be calling me the dumbass when you're the one who doesn't know as much about being a shinki...?

I know you being a jerk and treating me like I'm stupid instead of teaching me isn't helping Axel-sama, so I guess I know more about being a good shinki than you do, you shit kappa. [Ken sticks his tongue out at Chikusa, smirking.]

You just got here. [He's not sulking. You're sulking. Fuck off.] You didn't even know about blight... I helped you learn everything.

If you've taught me everything then you can't say I don't know as much as you, byon! [Ken is on fire this conversation, and he knows he's winning the argument because he's as beamingly proud as a dog after a successful fetch.]

[Slowly, his eyes narrow in challenge. If this is how it's going to be...]

Make a borderline.

[Ken blinks, then frowns.] ...you didn't show me how yet, byon. [He huffs, refusing to let this turn itself back on him.] Which means you didn't teach me everything, dumbass four-eyes.

You're the one who started a fight first before I could teach you.

[A quiet huff. No, shut up, accept this blame.]

And I beat you without using borderlines. [Ken flicks Chikusa right between the eyes, smirking.] You sure I need your help, four-eyes?

[His brows screw up together, because wow fuck this. But not fuck this hard enough for him to try and get Ken off of him, mind.]

If I used it against you, I’d hurt you, and Axel-sama would get upset.

[So there.]

Like you could even move fast enough to hurt me, byon. [Ken prods Chikusa in the chest again.] You move like plants grow. You wouldn't've had a chance to use one even if you'd tried.

Is that a challenge...? [His eyes narrow at Ken.]

Like you could be a challenge, byon. [Ken huffs. He's not as skeptical as he sounds, so much as he's eager to brawl with Chikusa in a way where he might fight back. In that respect, he's almost being clever.]

[If it were anything but borderlines, Chikusa would be more reluctant.... But instead, he adjusts his glasses.]

Get off of me.

[Ken studies Chikusa briefly, as if gauging his seriousness, then jumps off of him, shaking himself off and watching the other boy warily. He's not scared of much, and certainly not this, but he's also not completely stupid. Borderlines are new to him, and so he wants to get a measure of them before anything else. Some discretion at least until he sees what Chikusa can do isn't going to hurt anything.

Besides, he's genuinely curious.]

[At a much slower rate, Chikusa pushes himself up first to his knees, and then, swaying slightly, to his feet. He adjusts his glasses as he starts to shuffle away slightly. Really bothersome.... But maybe it will get through Ken's head. Turning around to face the other shinki, he considers him.]

....Try again.

[He doesn't doubt how fast his hands are- he knows for a fact that he can draw a line faster than Ken can leap forward.]

[Ken isn't entirely stupid, however. When someone says 'come at me', launching yourself at them head-on is exactly what they'll expect. Even if you get them in the end, you take a hit.

So Ken doesn't immediately launch. Instead, he digs out a cartridge and snaps it in. And a thin layer of fur covers parts of his skin, with telltale spots; he's in Cheetah Channel. And then he begins to circle Chikusa, slowly at first and then rapidly accelerating, looking for a good opening.

Then and only then, after having forced Chikusa to try and follow his movements and trying to outpace the other boy's awareness of him, does he abruptly stop and launch into a pounce.]

[When Ken starts to move not towards him, Chikusa shifts, wondering if he's turning tail and running. But no- all too soon he realizes just what Ken's plan is.]

[Trying to keep an eye on him is, frankly, too much effort. Easier to just let his head bow slightly, eyes drifting halfway shut as he focuses on his ears. At his side, his hand hangs loosely, two fingers held out straight in preparation. Anticipation is thick in his lungs as he waits, and it feels- familiar, in a way that fighting ayakashi hasn't quite been yet.]

[Monsters and people are still, to some degree, different in the end.]

[When Ken finally leaps forward, Chikusa's arm jerks out before the rest of his body can quite catch up, jerking him about almost like he's a marionette of his own design- but it works. A bright borderline springs to life, right in time to stop Ken's charge. A combination between a translucent wall and the faintest hints of light burning at the edges.]
