Who: Everyone!
What: Training
When: Morning June 16
Where: Bishamon's temple
Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!

Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.

Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
  • Use the state of the art equipment
  • Learn about your job
  • Form groups to practice
  • Don't get dehydrated
  • Spectate if you want
  • Have fun~

Different people's versions of power, and occasionally their thoughts on the shinki and god dynamic.

If you're talking about the gods who are uh... native... to this world, they're about as lost as us.

Are they really? Someone here must know what's going on... or at least have some informed guesses about why.

[Scully can't even come up with motive yet. It's a frustrating place to find herself.]

From what I've heard, when it comes to the new gods and shinki, there isn't much difference. Not outside of rank.

... I did hear the older gods were conducting their own investigation. That was back during May, and I haven't heard any follow up.

I hear that new shinki and old shinki have a couple of difference? The new ones remember their names, while the old ones don't remember anything. It's kind of weird.
skepticstarbuck: (neutrality)

[personal profile] skepticstarbuck 2017-02-26 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
They might not have found anything yet. [After all, May was only last month; and if they're not sure where the information might wind up, they might not want to share preliminary results.]

I meant that the new gods and the new shinki aren't different from each other. We're all different from the old ones.

But it's still strange to me that we'd remember our names. It seems like that would make it too easy for us to learn things about our past, if we wanted to.

I still wish they'd be more transparent. Maybe we could help...

Ah, yeah, that's true.

That really is weird. But maybe... since we're all from different places, there aren't records of shinki here? I know my world has people with all sorts of quirks, but nobody on the Near Shore has anything like that.
skepticstarbuck: (withdrawal)

[personal profile] skepticstarbuck 2017-03-01 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe. We can't look any of that up ourselves. Our gods could search for us, though.

[She gives him a thoughtful, and slightly nervous, look. It should be a relief to think that it's safe for the gods to look up information about them. Instead, the very thought makes her feel sick. Why? What's stopping her from questioning her own past too closely?

Is it true that shinki could become monsters?]

You can't mean normal quirks. It seems like they have as many of those here as anywhere.

[personal profile] fullcowl 2017-03-01 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
[That sure is true, and Izuku has definitely felt the feedback of that firsthand. He looks worried back- he'll just drop it right now, before she starts thinking over it too much.]

Um... No. Not exactly. I mean, they're normal to me but... They're powers. At home most people had powers, like being able to pull objects toward them, or breathing fire, or discharging electricity.
skepticstarbuck: (being short is suffering)

[personal profile] skepticstarbuck 2017-03-02 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
In other words, superpowers?

[Scully's giving him a baffled and slightly weary look. Another bizarre world where impossible things supposedly happen....]
fullcowl: (093)

[personal profile] fullcowl 2017-03-02 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
I... guess so? Do they still count as superpowers when everybody has them.

[Almost everybody, that is. Izuku looks like he's starting to get lost in thought.]

skepticstarbuck: (let's try this again)

[personal profile] skepticstarbuck 2017-03-03 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
I think so, but if you insist, we could lose the "super."

[There's no arguing the fact that what he's describing are powers.

Breathing fire. That's crazy.]
fullcowl: (040)

[personal profile] fullcowl 2017-03-03 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I... guess you can call it whatever it sounds like to you? They've always been 'quirks' to me though.
skepticstarbuck: (charming smile)

[personal profile] skepticstarbuck 2017-03-03 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[Scully abruptly feels a little bad. Poor kid: he's trying to tell her about what he's used to, and she's demanding it fit into her expectations.

It would be nice if something here did, but she has to stop expecting it, she thinks, and smiles at Deku apologetically.]

... Quirks it is. You probably haven't seen many here, though. Have you?
fullcowl: (Default)

[personal profile] fullcowl 2017-03-05 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
[He shakes his head.]

Gods here have powers, and some people have powers from back home. But... they don't have the same kinds of drawbacks as quirks usually do.
skepticstarbuck: (you can't be serious)

[personal profile] skepticstarbuck 2017-03-06 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I've seen a few of those powers in action. ... Do you think people are going to advertise drawbacks, though?

[They might have them, but Scully's heard enough about this place to feel like she's not trusting anyone she hasn't watched in action. The children that make up the majority of the gods and shinki don't know what's going on, and the few adults are either equally lost or dubiously trustworthy.

She's lost herself, with no real idea what's going on, so she can't blame them for it... but she isn't planning on telling everyone about her own plans. She wouldn't be surprised if people were hiding the weaknesses of their powers, too.]
fullcowl: (083)

[personal profile] fullcowl 2017-03-08 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Nobody says them, but if you watch them closely enough you can see the problems people have with their quirks. Like if they need to meet certain temperature conditions or if overusing it means that they're debilitated for some amount of time.

[He doesn't actually expect anybody to say their weaknesses. But a lifetime of studying quirk strength and weaknesses means he has a tendency to pick them out.]
skepticstarbuck: (sight wished unseen)

[personal profile] skepticstarbuck 2017-03-09 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Then you mean you haven't seen anyone with drawbacks to their powers here.

[That's interesting. Scully nods, slowly. There must be some consequences, or effects, even if it's just to wear them out after a while... mustn't there? The power has to come from somewhere.

Or are the powers of the gods (even cut-rate god replacements) beyond things like Newton's laws?

She has to admit, reluctantly, that it would make sense if they were.]
fullcowl: (085)

[personal profile] fullcowl 2017-03-11 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. Or if I have, it seems to be more along the lines of inexperience with the power.

[Though his own is an odd case. It has a drawback, but it's power-sharing. One for All needs it's wielders to be considerably stronger than average. It's a requirement that's always been there, and Izuku's not willing to risk it on somebody who might not be strong enough for it.]
skepticstarbuck: (neutrality)

[personal profile] skepticstarbuck 2017-03-12 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm.

[Scully contemplates the refreshments table for a moment before saying, dryly:]

I guess I won't pick any fights with gods.
fullcowl: (072)

[personal profile] fullcowl 2017-03-13 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
... Were you planning on it before?
skepticstarbuck: (hates her life sometimes)

[personal profile] skepticstarbuck 2017-03-13 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
Probably not.

[She's a little reluctant to admit this, but it's true that she wasn't planning to pick fights. Defend her values if necessary, on the other hand: sure....]
