Jakob, completely oblivious now that he’s gone on this tirade, only bristles when Add interrupts him to contradict his advice. Leave it to Add to be contrary, as always.

“Of course I am not implying that you should dedicate yourself to just anybody,” he puts in, very pointedly not looking at Add himself. Unfortunately, this means that the poor homeless man he’s trying to help gets the worst of his temper.

“But having tangible goals in life is important, and you mortals are after all quite social beings! It’s only natural for you to want to attach yourself to someone. A home is not merely the roof above your head, but the people living inside of it! Hence you must aim high! There is no one to hold you back, man! Why not get off your sorry bum and actually fight for your right to live as you please?”
