Sleepover!
Who: Forrest, all of his teenage CR, and CR of that CR
What: Giant sleepover log
When: The night of June 21
Where: Lakshmi's temple
Warnings: Cuteness overload
[Forrest has never had a sleepover before, so he's pretty excited to host one at his temple. He sends out invitations ahead of time to everyone he can think of, letting them know to bring pajamas, snacks, and even a friend or two if they want. He's clad in a frilly pink nightgown with ribbons and bows for the occasion, and he's temporarily converted Lakshmi's audience chamber into a space where the guests can all party and sleep. It was already mostly full of pillows to begin with, so all he had to do was move some more in and set up some tables for snacks and things. One of the tables conspicuously contains all of his beauty supplies, because like hell is Forrest hosting a slumber party without makeovers. Anyone who shows even the slightest bit of interest will get their makeup, hair, or nails done. Soft music and the scent of lotus blossoms drift through the air, creating the perfect atmosphere for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves.]
((OOC: If you've got a teenager that Forrest has talked to more than once, assume he invited them. Friends of friends are totally welcome as well. Everyone can feel free to put up their own toplevels, and everybody tag everybody and mingle to your heart's content!))

[It was overwhelming and a lot more work than expected, but at least Forrest seemed to think it was a success. And there'd been some...interesting people mixed in, too.]
That makes sense. I mean um, actually, this temple's usually just me and Forrest...So I imagine it's the same in a lot of temples.

[For Psyche, the lack of a disaster like the undead raising was enough of a plus, but she still smiled at his comments. After a moment, she asked]
Oh, sorry, I didn't catch your name, I don't think. I'm Psyche.
no subject
[Is that her god name or her actual name? Is she a god? Not for the first time, Dust wishes he could tell these things more readily...]
[Also some undead to fight would have been nice, he understands that...]
I'm not sure what constitutes a success, but it looks like a lot of people had fun.

[It was a low goal but one all the same.
[Meanwhile, outside, the fireworks continued to crackle on. They probably would all night. Psyche gave a small chuckle]
Plus, I guess if there's one thing people can get here, it's a little quiet for sleep?
[Psyche didn't mind - they were rather pretty to look at - but she could understand why some people would have problems dealing with the noise. Fortunately, the audience chamber was good enough for blocking that out.]

I...feel like that too sometimes. [She fiddled with a strand of hair. At the very least, a part of her felt a little too uncomfortable and open by the idea of sleeping near people.] I guess it's just habit from whatever our lives used to be?
[Not that they could press too far into that topic without a warning block in their heads. Or going too far and ending up like Axel.]

[He looks out the window for a moment -- not that the line of his sight is obvious, thanks to his hat.]
But with all the people here eager to make friends and invite others around and act normal, I'm a little glad that someone else understands.
no subject
Not safely, at least... Some things are probably still hard-wired but it's not exactly 'proof'.
[She'd like to believe that, but it was hard to say whether they were acting exactly as they would if they had their memories or not.]
I don't think it's as much about acting 'normal' as much as some people are just a lot better at this stuff than others. I have a feeling some of them were probably already used to events like this, or just thrive in crowds.

[When he turns back to Psyche, he's smiling. But it's ironic, and a touch sad.] Though I'm already used to being different, anyway.

[Even Hakkai - and Asshole - could blend in with people, despite what they were. Psyche wouldn't have been able to pick up on them being youkai if she hadn't seen Hakkai without his limiter and, even then, his youkai form still looked relatively 'human'. Dust was...a little more unique in that regard. Among other things.]
Do you think you'll go back later, then? Or do you think you might just head off early?
[As somewhat tempting as Psyche's own room was, it wouldn't be fair to guests. And something could happen anyway.]
no subject
To be honest... I hadn't thought that far ahead.
no subject
I guess that makes sense. I don't think we have anything planned for the morning so if you do take off I don't think anyone would hold it against you? If you want to stick around, I'm sure we could find something we can do.
[Fireworks or otherwise.]
no subject
Did you have something in mind?
no subject
[Between the excitement of everything else, she doubted they'd be missed.]

[She hadn't played much since coming there but the knowledge was there. Enough for a few casual games, at least.]
There's some gardens in the back, actually. They're actually really pretty.
