[Forrest has never had a sleepover before, so he's pretty excited to host one at his temple. He sends out invitations ahead of time to everyone he can think of, letting them know to bring pajamas, snacks, and even a friend or two if they want. He's clad in a frilly pink nightgown with ribbons and bows for the occasion, and he's temporarily converted Lakshmi's audience chamber into a space where the guests can all party and sleep. It was already mostly full of pillows to begin with, so all he had to do was move some more in and set up some tables for snacks and things. One of the tables conspicuously contains all of his beauty supplies, because like hell is Forrest hosting a slumber party without makeovers. Anyone who shows even the slightest bit of interest will get their makeup, hair, or nails done. Soft music and the scent of lotus blossoms drift through the air, creating the perfect atmosphere for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves.]

((OOC: If you've got a teenager that Forrest has talked to more than once, assume he invited them. Friends of friends are totally welcome as well. Everyone can feel free to put up their own toplevels, and everybody tag everybody and mingle to your heart's content!))

I just feel as though I've not been the best father I could be in these circumstances. I'm not sure why--maybe Takumi informing me that I have a son where he's from?

[Setting down the scissors for the moment, he reaches for a hand mirror and hands it to Leo.]

[Leo takes it and looks over the haircut. He nods]

Much better than the maids usually do. You're really good at beauty, Forrest. Have you considered using dark magic to enhance it?

...Wouldn't I just end up like Nyx?

[That seems like a bad idea.]

No, not to enhance your beauty, but to enhance what you do for other people. There are plenty of ways to use curses to benefit other people.

That sounds even more dangerous. What if I mess it up?

Possible, yes, but not very likely with your talent.

I'm very confident in my talents with sewing and cosmetics, but not quite as confident in my magic.

[Leo frowns and turns to face Forrest. Not confident in his magic?]

Did I never give you lessons?

[Because obviously Forrest is just as powerful as Leo is. That's not even an option]

[Leo casts a big shadow where magic is concerned.]

I feel like I have a lot to live up to. I've never been quite convinced that I can.

I see. Is this one of those things more lessons wouldn't help?

I think it's more like conquering a fear of failure. It's something I'll have to come to terms with mentally and emotionally.

You never get over the fear of failure. You just learn how to fix it, should it happen. I'm not afraid of using Brynhildr anymore, but that's because I can't be. Curses and the like?

[He shakes his head]

I hate using them. I'm always worried I'll mess it up somehow--why do you think you never see me using them?

That's exactly what I'm afraid of. Some curses can't be taken back so easily if you mess them up.

[brynwieldr]

Thankfully, those curses aren't the ones you'll be using frequently, as a prince and heir to Brynhildr.

[Leo doesn't say it, but the fact that Forrest didn't grow up in Garon's court is another reason he'll never have to use those curses.]

Well, at least I'm sixth in line. That gives me plenty of time to learn.

You, myself...you mentioned Xander having a son, yes? Did Camilla marry as well, then?

[He's nearly made a game out of dropping vague hints as to the nature of his timeline.]

Yes, she did. Oh, but... hm. Actually, that probably makes me fifth in line.

Why? And who did she marry?
