Sleepover!
Who: Forrest, all of his teenage CR, and CR of that CR
What: Giant sleepover log
When: The night of June 21
Where: Lakshmi's temple
Warnings: Cuteness overload
[Forrest has never had a sleepover before, so he's pretty excited to host one at his temple. He sends out invitations ahead of time to everyone he can think of, letting them know to bring pajamas, snacks, and even a friend or two if they want. He's clad in a frilly pink nightgown with ribbons and bows for the occasion, and he's temporarily converted Lakshmi's audience chamber into a space where the guests can all party and sleep. It was already mostly full of pillows to begin with, so all he had to do was move some more in and set up some tables for snacks and things. One of the tables conspicuously contains all of his beauty supplies, because like hell is Forrest hosting a slumber party without makeovers. Anyone who shows even the slightest bit of interest will get their makeup, hair, or nails done. Soft music and the scent of lotus blossoms drift through the air, creating the perfect atmosphere for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves.]
((OOC: If you've got a teenager that Forrest has talked to more than once, assume he invited them. Friends of friends are totally welcome as well. Everyone can feel free to put up their own toplevels, and everybody tag everybody and mingle to your heart's content!))

[For a moment, she thought about the figures in the mist who'd known her name, a flicker of something unreadable crossing her face, and then very quickly dismissed it from her mind.]
What I mean is, gatherings with the Heavens tend to have weird stuff happening a lot? We went to a school a bunch of ayakashi appeared...Then there was a forest fire at a picnic...and other stuff, I guess.
[Which, granted, probably wasn't the Heavens' fault entirely, but still.]
no subject
[ Spoken like someone who's played way too many video games. ]
A forest fire at a picnic, huh? [ he laughs sort of awkwardly at that, rubbing a hand at the back of his neck. unbeknownst to most people there were almost several fires at the most recent Training Day as well... ] Geez, that sounds... terrible.
So you're saying whenever the gods and shinki get together for a party or something, weird shit happens?
no subject
[Unless the reason it happened in the first place was because they were there. Fortunately, fire and ramming cars helped a lot. A bit sheepishly]
Well, it's not exactly a guarantee but it does seem to happen a lot? But, there was a beach party recently that was alright and Sheryl - [A slight pause in her voice, as she remembered she was gone now] - um, she was a goddess here, but she actually got a bunch of us together for a spa day and that didnt' go too bad. So hopefully today won't be too weird.
no subject
Either way, he heaves a sigh. ]
Sounds like I missed all the fun.
no subject
Well...What do you think might be fun? I mean, you don't exactly seem like you're than interested in some of the other things here.
[Or, maybe, it was just shyness or something.]
no subject
That's because most people seem to be doing things with clothes and hair and nail polish.
[ Not that there weren't other things happening, and other guys, even. Okay so maybe he'd been sticking too close to his own god and whatever she and the the girls around her had been up to. Or what he assumed they were up to. he'd been busy trying to be a plant, after all. ]
And I dunno. What else is there? I don't think I've ever been to one of these things before. How am I supposed to know?
no subject
Well, you don't have to do stuff like that. Some people were smacking pillows around earlier- [Though that probably seemed pretty juvenile, she guessed.] Or if you want, we can get out of here and check out other parts of the temple? There's actually some really pretty gardens and pools in the back.
[They were bathing pools, sure, but they were still nice to look at.]
no subject
Pools?
[ He actually hasn't seen much of the temple, other than following his god inside. ]
no subject
[Looks aside, there was the fact they had special healing properties and minerals mixed in that no other place did. It basically spoiled Psyche, in that regard.]
Plus, it's a good breather from the crowd.
[And probably better than being bored.]
no subject
Yeah, alright, I'll go. At least it'll be quieter.
[ Less people sounded better and he could move around more. ]
no subject
[The temple was pretty big, after all. And there was probably some things they didn't want people getting into anyway.
[She took a brief moment to glance around the room, just to be sure everything looked under control, before gesturing for Yata. The hallways, he'd realize, were just as opulent as the temple's exterior: golden walls, intricately woven tapestries, and finely carved lotuses. Meanwhile, Psyche's battered boots silently clipped against the floor, echoing, as she said]
My name's Psyche, by the way.
no subject
I'm Yata. Do you live here?
no subject
[There'd been some embarassment and self-consciousness about being there for a while, if only because of how decadent everything was. She had a feeling it wasn't something she was particularly used to back in her world, but you learned to adapt.]
Who do you work for, if it's okay to ask?
no subject
[ He lets his gaze wander around their surroundings as they walk, taking everything in. ]
Mine? Her name's Nami. Or Njord, I guess, if we're being official. She's the one who got invited, mostly. I just tagged along.
no subject
[And Psyche had to admit, it took something to make a palace of gold look pretty instead of some gaudy monstrosity of wealth. She tilted her head curiously at the name of Yata's god, though]
Oh, I see....did Forrest invite her or [A slight pause, and then a trace of amusement] did she Kairi's message on the BBS?
[It left like at least have the people there came because of that.]
no subject
I'm not sure if she knows Forrest or not, but I know she knows Kairi. I'm pretty sure everyone knows Kairi at this point.
no subject
[Psyche found that sort of thing a little draining. She didn't completely think about that until her and Yata were far enough away that she couldn't hear the rumbling of chatter anymore.
[At the end of the hallway was a deceptively simplistic door - stylistic, still, but far less ornate that the rest of the temple. However, past that was a large garden with elegant stone paths and many sweet smells. Immediately, Yata would probably be struck by lotus, as the flowers seemed to bloom on most surfaces and the petals gently wafted through the air. However, there was also honey and other scents, which came from the many bathing pools.]
Oh-be careful not to slip.
no subject
[ Not that she had. But then again, Yata's priority hadn't really been of the 'branching out' variety since arriving here. Others seemed to find it one of the most important things, and he didn't hold that against them. He just felt... he didn't know what he felt about it, honestly. There were only a few people here who had really made him feel driven to get to know them better, but there seemed to be no rhyme or reason to it, as far as he could tell.
Besides, he had other things he'd been focusing on. Like his god. And his weird fire thing.
At her warning, he slows and glances around more intently, one eyebrow arched as he takes in the garden. He gives a low whistle, impressed. ] Damn. This looks like it was a lot of work.
no subject
Yeah. It was like this when we came here, but I guess the original Lakshimi had really good tastes?
[She wondered how temples like this were even built in the first place. Did the Heavens just set it up to begin with? Did the gods have their own followers do it? She wasn't sure, though she knew temples could just disappear so maybe they just appeared when needed too.]
The water's really nice too. It has some sort of healing properties, so that with the view tends to help a lot.
no subject
[ He gives the pools of water a curious look at that, looking impressed despite himself. ]
Who was this Lakshimi? I mean, what are they the god of?
no subject
[Psyche didn't think they could fix a chopped off arm or anything that serious but they had a way of making you feel much better when you came out, no matter how you came in.]
She's a Hindu goddess. Based on what I've read, she's supposed to be the goddess of wealth and beauty - though I guess looking at her temple's a hint there.
no subject
[ He hums and glances around again. ] I think my god is supposed to be wealth, too, but she's linked to the sea. I think she's... Norse? [ he doesn't know a whole lot about mythology yet. ]
