[Forrest has never had a sleepover before, so he's pretty excited to host one at his temple. He sends out invitations ahead of time to everyone he can think of, letting them know to bring pajamas, snacks, and even a friend or two if they want. He's clad in a frilly pink nightgown with ribbons and bows for the occasion, and he's temporarily converted Lakshmi's audience chamber into a space where the guests can all party and sleep. It was already mostly full of pillows to begin with, so all he had to do was move some more in and set up some tables for snacks and things. One of the tables conspicuously contains all of his beauty supplies, because like hell is Forrest hosting a slumber party without makeovers. Anyone who shows even the slightest bit of interest will get their makeup, hair, or nails done. Soft music and the scent of lotus blossoms drift through the air, creating the perfect atmosphere for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves.]

((OOC: If you've got a teenager that Forrest has talked to more than once, assume he invited them. Friends of friends are totally welcome as well. Everyone can feel free to put up their own toplevels, and everybody tag everybody and mingle to your heart's content!))

[Natsuru turns her back to Forrest, using her hands to gently push all of her hair back over her shoulders before she scoots back a little towards him. Now seems like a time for friendly small talk, and try as she might, she can't get her mind off of one particular topic.]

I don't think a lot of guys could do something like this. But you must be good at it, if you do your own hair! It's really pretty.

[She tried to come up with a more masculine-sounding compliment, but it wasn't happening. Her brain kept getting stuck on 'pretty'. Hopefully, he's okay with that.]

Thank you! I do spend a lot of time on it.

[He doesn't mind pretty at all. That's what he was going for, after all.]

Yours is quite lovely, too.

I can tell.

[She can't stop blushing at his choice of words. 'Lovely' is such a wonderful compliment.]

I don't really do much, though. I try and take care of it, but I only know a couple of styles.

[He calls 'em like he sees 'em. And he keeps working at the braid. It's about halfway down now.]

I can show you some easy things to do with it if you'd like to try something new.

Ah, I would! I'd like that a lot...

[He probably can't see her blushing, while he's focusing on braiding her hair. It's just hairstyles, but she's getting so excited over it.]

Here, let me finish the rest in front so you can see how it's done. A three strand braid is very simple to learn.

[He carefully moves her hair so it's draped over her shoulder, scooting around front to show her as he finishes.]

[She shifts to make it easier for him to move as well. Once her half-braided hair is over her shoulder, she watches Forrest slowly finishing it so she can see how it works. It really does seem very simple!]

So... just keep alternating like that?

[It looks like he just keeps crossing each side over whatever strand is in the middle at the time. And making sure it's all smoothed out, of course.]

That's right. Just keep crossing them over the middle, all the way down.

[He does a few more - slowly, so she can see.]

Alright, got it!

[It's a simple enough concept to grasp! Still...]

Probably still takes some practice, huh? I'll have to work on it sometime.

[For now, she's content to let him finish. She's still excited to try other non-hair things, if he's up for helping with those too!]

[It doesn't take him long to finish, all things considered, and he grabs a hand mirror to let her see once it's all done.]

There! What do you think? I can do your nails for you too if you'd like.

[Forrest could literally do this all night.]

[She lights up with a smile when she sees the final results. Turning at different angles and taking the braid over her shoulder to look at it more closely confirms what she already suspected. Forrest is really good at this. And he's offering to help with more already!]

Sure!

[She agrees very suddenly and readily. She'd been hoping he'd actually want to do her nails!]

Did you have any suggestions for the color? I tried this really nice purple when we went to the spa with Sheryl-san, so it'd match with Patchouli-san getting blue! And I didn't know if pink or red would be a good fit...

Hmm...

[Forrest thinks a moment, looking at Natsuru's eyes and hair.]

Purple would certainly go well with your hair, but I think red would be a very striking contrast too if you'd like to try something different.

Really?

[Red seems so... bold, though. Could she really pull that off?]

If you think so, then... maybe I'll try it this time.

[It's not like she's making a permanent irreversible decision here. The only way to find out if she'd like it is to try.]

All right, then. Stretch your legs out for me.

[Forrest smiles, getting the polish ready.]

[Her legs? She gives him a questioning look, but doesn't hesitate to follow the suggestion. She just has to shift to get her legs out from where they're tucked under her, and then balance on her hands while she stretches them out properly. She even gives her toes a little wiggle and stretch now that her feet are free and in the open.]

That's right. Just leave everything to me.

[He's been mostly painting toenails tonight, so he just assumed that was what she wanted.]

First is the base coat, so the polish will last longer.

[Dipping the brush in, he slowly begins to drag it down the nail of her big toe.]

[It's not a total surprise! She's had a full mani-pedi before. She just didn't expect him to go for the toenails first.]

R-Right...

I think I should have paid more attention when they did it at the spa.

The spa... that really was a wonderful trip, wasn't it?

[Forrest could happily spend every day at a place like that.]

It really was!

[She's being incredibly transparent about her feelings, smiling brightly and even giving a soft sigh while she recalls everything they did there.]

If it weren't so expensive, I'd go back more often...

Maybe I should organize a trip there sometime.

[Forrest hums as he finishes up the base coat on her first foot, thinking to himself. The tips of the bristles might tickle her toe as he's slightly distracted wondering if he could make it work.]

[Her toe twitches ever so slightly in response. Enough for Forrest to notice, but not to throw him completely off of the task.]

I guess if you did, we could hang out more this time! ... If you wouldn't mind me coming along.

[She has literally no reason to think he would mind. Natsuru just worries too much.]

Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to tickle you.

[Forrest saw that little twitch, smiling in embarrassment as he draws his hand back.]

No, I wouldn't mind at all. Lakshmi is a goddess of wealth as well as beauty, so I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem to set up another spa trip.

[It does involve both, after all.]

It's fine!

[She smiles, and even giggles quietly. A little tickle isn't a big deal.]

Oh, that's right... I heard someone mention that.

[A pause, and she looks suddenly thoughtful.]

It doesn't bother you at all, that you're a goddess? Or, that you're standing in for one?

[She doesn't want to assume just because he likes pretty things that he's okay with being assigned a feminine role. It doesn't really matter that much, she supposes, but she's curious.]

[Forrest smiles, laughing a little too as he starts in on her other foot.]

No, it doesn't really bother me. I'm used to being mistaken for a girl at first glance, after all.

[There's a light joking quality to his tone.]

[She smiles, even chuckling softly at his good-natured and lightly joking tone.]

Well... I think you must be a really amazing goddess of beauty, even though you're a guy.

[Still, it makes her idly think while she watches him continue to paint her nails.]

I don't know what I'd think if I ever got mistaken for a boy...

[Strangely, it doesn't seem that awful to her? Maybe it'd sting a little, since she puts so much effort into looking nice and being confident as a young woman. But if she'd dressed up more boyishly on purpose, she wouldn't see it as much of an insult to be mistaken for one. Then again, there's probably not much of a risk of it ever happening, with her pretty face, and that figure...]
