[Forrest has never had a sleepover before, so he's pretty excited to host one at his temple. He sends out invitations ahead of time to everyone he can think of, letting them know to bring pajamas, snacks, and even a friend or two if they want. He's clad in a frilly pink nightgown with ribbons and bows for the occasion, and he's temporarily converted Lakshmi's audience chamber into a space where the guests can all party and sleep. It was already mostly full of pillows to begin with, so all he had to do was move some more in and set up some tables for snacks and things. One of the tables conspicuously contains all of his beauty supplies, because like hell is Forrest hosting a slumber party without makeovers. Anyone who shows even the slightest bit of interest will get their makeup, hair, or nails done. Soft music and the scent of lotus blossoms drift through the air, creating the perfect atmosphere for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves.]

((OOC: If you've got a teenager that Forrest has talked to more than once, assume he invited them. Friends of friends are totally welcome as well. Everyone can feel free to put up their own toplevels, and everybody tag everybody and mingle to your heart's content!))

I guess it's better than having a natural talent you'd need some background for or it'd drive you insane. Like a talent for killing people or some weird power.

[He's met a couple with powers. That can't be fun for them not knowing what that makes them.]

But if you had that talent, couldn't you let your body go with the motion and not really think about it?

[He guesses it's different for people with strange abilities, mirroring Shuusei's thoughts. But what's the difference between knowing how to move things with your mind compared to knowing how to cook?]

I know a shinki who can fly. He said he doesn't really "know" how he does it. He simply can.

That's probably a good thing to not dwell on. I'd start to wonder why I have that power and other people don't though. Like what does that make me.

[And that's where you get into trouble.]

[Thinking about yourself could get in trouble, but other people?]

I don't think we all come from the same place.

What makes you say that?

[He does feel really out of place around here but he's not atypical as far as anything else goes.]

The way some people look compared to others. Some people have powers that you read about in comic books.

[He doesn't know his past, but he's pretty sure that he doesn't come from a world where all... this, is normal.]

Unless we just all come from an unfair world where some people have super powers and some people are like us.

[Because he has yet to find a super power beyond the standard shinki styled ones. Also he's bad at them.]

That'd be a very varied world.

[He doesn't think that's the answer though. They all must've come from somewhere. Somewhere different probably.]

My god said he's never had his powers in his past.

So, like, multiple universes?

[It makes sense as to why everything seems so... out of place. Even if he can't put his finger on why. He wanted to put that off as a "being dead" thing.]

Aa. Sounds strange, right?

[Like something out of a comic or fantasy. But it would be easier to explain things that way if it were true.

The fact all the shinki are dead, yet some look different and others come with added abilities... who knew?]

A little. It makes sense but it's just another thing to get used to I guess.

[He actually enjoys the weird sci-fi and comic stuff. It being reality though sort of takes some getting used to, even without his memories.]

[Just one more fact in their new lives they're expected to simply accept and move on with. Well, he can't say he's surprised anymore. Whether the multiple-worlds thing is right or wrong, it doesn't make much impact anyways.]

There's a lot of that.

[And picks up a bottle of water to drink from.]

Which makes me wonder why can't we know more? What about knowing more makes it dangerous?

[He knows the end result, but not why.]

Oh well. Oh, what form do you take by the way? When your god calls you.

Probably because of our memories?

[Though the question doesn't change. Why they can't know about their memories... It's a dangerous subject and almost instantly he feels the nausea and dread grip his stomach so hard it threatens his appetite.

So he's more than willing to change subjects, even if the current one's a little... well... He glances to the side.]

[Said just a little gruff, as if daring Shuusei to laugh about it.]

[Just stares a moment. When he wraps his head around that latter he is definitely going to tease this guy for it.]

What?

[All he manages to get out. Shuusei never even considered that as an option.]

[Ugh, shouldn't have said anything. Sousuke isn't forthcoming with that information most of the time, specifically because of this.

Well, at least that reaction's better than outright laughing at him.]

[Just going to brush right on by that. Hmph.]

[Shuusei's noting this because he's not letting it go in the long run. For now though he'll bite.]

[Oy, he's fully capable of getting even so keep that in mind. Though, Sousuke's still curious about the answer.

Do you get Tetris stuck in you?

[Couldn't help it. But yeah, he's not aware of anyone's vessel form that's actually, you know, a weapon.]

I haven't had a chance to play around with it yet and my god is sorta not interested.

[Honestly, he wonders the same thing. He wants to know if he can play games. Not that it helps him being that he is the game.]

Apparently the powers I lend to my god are in the form of apps? All it does is make me jealous I can't afford a game system.

[Sousuke makes a face at the answer.]

Don't they check to see if things are compatible?

[It's muttered under his breath. But seriously, why would a shinki get a form the god has no interest in? Don't the gods influence the form? Or is that something shinki are just supposed to sit down and shut up about...]

In the form of apps... huh. You'll have to give me an example because the ones I'm thinking about are strange.

[Like ordering food and text messaging and calculators. He'll get to that jealousy bit in a few.]

Well, I know Rend is an app but I'm clueless as to what it does yet. Also I have a camera app that reads auras.

[As for the rest he doesn't have a clue either. He's not sure if he should complain. If a gamer freak got him he might be stuck in his weapon form often.]

So kinda useful I think? My god's pretty scary without me so I'm not sure I need to be that deadly.

Rend, huh. That's the spell gods and shinki have to use together.

[To destroy the ayakashi. Well that kind of makes sense that it's an app? Since Sousuke has to actively... act, along with Rin, to make their Rend ability work.]

Auras? Like heat or... energy?

[That last part just sounds weird to say, but there's stranger things running around here. He nods to the useful comment though.]

[How to describe Auras when you don't even understand them well yourself.]

It's sort of a mix of energy, personality and emotion put into colors.

[If you could sense these things with your eyes instead of intuition, except he doesn't have eyes either so it's more like a filter... maybe...?

I can't vouch for the potential thing, but I guess it'll be useful somehow.

[He does well enough and Sousuke nods at the explanation.]

That's about as good as you could put it.

[He's not an avid manga reader or anything, but he's still a modern kid, so the image resonates.]
