Kairi and Goten are off on an adventure to answer a prayer in Aymeric's absence, since Goten wants to impress this god enough he'll stick around. Poor Goten is on God #3. Since Aymeric is Forseti, they learn that the beseecher - whose fish traps are getting their fish eaten after hauled in - is located on "Heligoland." For starters, where on earth is that?

[Nimbus does in fact take them lower, although Kairi definitely plans on encouraging weekly rides on Nimbus if it gets him this happy - with or without her.]

'Pretty cold - I dipped my hands in earlier today trying to purify it before I remembered that you had to be with me.'

[And for her to be in vessel form but that went without saying because her god had to be with her.]

'I thought you said after though.'

I don't think there's an ayakashi here anymore, but the current is carrying the blight further...

[He shakily stands and looks down. The fastest way into the water would be to jump. Roxas can warm himself up later.]

If Sora asks, I fell into the lake.

[THEY ARE NOT TELLING SORA THAT HE IS LITERALLY ABOUT TO JUMP INTO A BLIGHTED SEA

'ROXAS! They can--'

[But as soon as she feels him stop jumping and actually hit the water instead a second later, she just puts everything she has into her shinki power. In the area immediately surrounding them, there's a bright glow as she expends so much of her energy just trying to get to the blight before her god literally turns into a raisin. He's probably going to be a little blighted, just not on his hands, until at last the holy water catches up and surrounds them both in its protection.

Funny thing is what she'd been trying to say, which comes out a little tired.]

'They can swim though...'

[And there's a loud screech of pain from down below as one of the ayakashi writhes in pain.]

[He would tell her that was the point of this as she clears the area. With a few good kicks, the breaks the surface and makes for the nearest beach.]

S-Sorry! I h-had to be the bait-t!

[They better finish this fast before he freezes to death. He climbs up and shivers badly as he looks around.]

W-Where is it?

WELL NOTHING

[Kairi being familiar with the monstrous selkie ayakashi that comes torpedoing towards them on the beach comes in handy, because it breaches out of the water with a spray everywhere and tries to land directly on top of them despite literally steaming angry from the holy water.]

'BORDERLINE!'

[Up goes the bright white-blue wall. It's much taller and wider than Roxas might remember seeing it before.]

[That is one ugly creature! Roxas is so glad that Kairi is good at this! Else someone would have to run really fast and get colder. He still flinches and puts his arms up just out of reflex.]

W-What kind of aya-akashi is that?

[And can they rend it asap?]

'A nightmare mermaid? I don't know. It was eating the guy's fish along with its brother, but I only feel this one right now.'

[And she certainly does feel queasy with it this close, but slowly she's getting over that gut reaction to it.]

'I can probably hold it for a bit, but...?'

[Yeah, Rend asap is a good plan. The creature is now literally pounding on Kairi's Borderline wall and she grunts with effort each time.]

[He forces himself to not focus on the cold, running his fingers over the gloves as he always does when performing the spell for a rend.]

Le... Let's make this quick! Drop the barrier!

[Once she does, he swings his arm, aiming at the things torso with the rend.]

[Kairi nods inside of her vessel form. Make it quick indeed. She just blinks and the barrier is gone.]

'Rend!'

[She says the spell with him just to help with the timing of it all, and mimics his hand slice. She's been practicing that same motion with Borderline, so she's gotten pretty good at it, and the version where she won't hit anything else but the creature itself - thankfully since they're facing the ocean that part won't matter too much.

The bright white strip of light cuts through the same wound she made on it beforehand with her Borderline strike, severing it in the middle while then evaporating into the air.]

'They're... They're not as tough alone, apparently!'

[Good! That's one down!]

Ho-ow are we gonna get the other one up?

[Roxas doesn't have the energy right now to take another dip into the water. Wait! He summons a Keyblade and aims it at the water.]

The... the blight will have c-chased the fish away, right? So n-n-no dead fish if I do this.

[Maybe the Thundara spell he unleashes on the water will bring their second target out into the open.]

'Wait, Roxas...'

[Although he's kind of right. If there's any fish in the immediate area, they've been blighted already. But his spell goes off and she waits, 'looking' around while she's not actively supporting him or using her power.]

'I think the other one ran away - or hid, anyway. Somewhere I can't really feel it right now. Can you just dip your hand in and let me focus on cleansing the area? Maybe that's the best we can do for right now.'
