014 | A Whole New World

Who: Everyone!

Summary: So many shrines have popped up! Go visit your homelands!

The Heavens have received reports of many shrines to the "new gods" they are harboring appearing all over the world. These shrines seem to be additional, new shrines to those gods. Older shrines to those gods still exist, but these ones are shiny, new, and way more compatible with the "new gods". God characters, as well, will have felt the sudden pull towards their homelands and be compelled to travel to them. But the Heavens have taken it a step farther, offering the Meeting Hall as a place for gods and shinki to group up and go out for the day to the various places that are now calling out to them.

Please ignore the fact that they are mostly doing this so that you all will collect information for them without their begging for it or having to reward you.

Meeting Hall

The Meeting Hall is being used as a sort of hub right now. Any groups that are planning to meet up and travel together can meet here, but you might also find someone who's going somewhere you'd like to and tag along with them. Additionally, the Heavens have provided packed lunches for everyone to take with them, should they desire to. This also serves as a meeting place for all of the new gods and shinki.

Locals

Local pantheons have been alerted to the impending visitors. They are happy to welcome their brethren home and are likely to make a big fuss about their brothers and sisters staying with them. Local gods are welcome to be interpreted however you would like, just be sure not to NPC any god that is already taken by a god player. Also, you may find yourself running into some local spirits during your sight-seeing - including local ayakashi and various folklore spirits.

Flyers

They may not stick out at first, but those who are paying attention will notice that there are a large number of flyers being left around at their new shrines. Heck, even walking through the human towns, you will find flyers scattered on the ground and pinned to cork boards and nailed to telephone poles. All bear the same message: "Down with the Heavens. Down with Amaterasu." The locals gods are well versed in the flyers, saying that there have been some strange characters around throwing these flyers at anyone who will give them the time of day. Even humans will note that some shady-looking people have been putting up these strange posters.

Who will discover Amaterasu will be decided randomly on 3/20/17 OOC. At that point, a follow-up post will be made by Amaterasu herself.

[ His eyes swim with emotions he doesn't remember as lost memories cloud his judgment. For a moment, he forgets where he is and answers without thinking. ]

I... almost. [ He swallows. ] Remembered.

[ And suddenly his eyes grow serious. ]

Ah... [ Was he worried? Itachi tried to offer a reassuring gaze back. ]

He didn't want to come, is all.

He's still sleeping back at the temple.

If you worry about it, they won't.

[ That's her one concern. This girl doesn't seem to have much....presence? Force? Hibiki can't see her satisfying an audience onstage. Fans need a reason to never want to tear their eyes away. What can this girl offer?

Still, she is beseeching Hibiki for help, and that shows good judgment. Hibiki just needs to push her in the right direction and let her latent potential take over from there. If it can. ]

[ Taking her index finger, she tries to touch Elfnein's chest, right where her heart would be. The oracles clutch at their own, deeply moved. Oh! Master Apollo! ]

[ Hahaha, yeah about that.

Standing finally and pocketing her phone, she gives the young goddess one final, somewhat veiled smile before she rushes toward the shrine. The moment her back is turned to her, however—

She grimaces, remembering how thick the smoke was the last time she went in, and how difficult it was to breathe even with the help of her mask. But she couldn't tell her that.

It will be fine. Don't worry, Nanako, she'll make it out just fine. ]

At some point, it seems he's become a teacher of some sort... How annoying. Chikusa sighs quietly, but already knows of a quick solution. Teach a man to fish, after all... "Do you have the phone that the Heavens give everyone...?"

[ And after what probably feels like an eternity to Nanako, she does! Her cloak wrapped around herself and someone else (not Ameterasu, they were much too tall to be her), the shinki she saved is descended upon by a few of the others attending to the wounded.

Waving to them, Lux keeps up a strong front for a moment—

Then seems to double over, back shaking as she begins to cough. Ah, maybe that time she went a little too far in. The bird-like mask still on her face, she puts a hand over her mouth.

Hopefully the young goddess who she told to be brave wouldn't see... ]

....I've been looking into that.... actually...

[Is it worth mentioning? Chikusa thinks on it carefully, chin tucked in slightly against his chest, before deciding it can't hurt.]

When all those books were scattered around... I found one on Italy...

[Well, Forrest didn't correct him, so Doku assumes this really is a river spirit.]

Thought you might like to know, that's all. Don't worry if you don't recognize me - I'm new around here, and I got spread a little far out... India, China, and Japan. But if you need me to come back around and help with something, my four shinki and I can probably make a day trip out of it?

[And since it looks like the goat is perfectly happy to just straight up bother Hibiki, Chikusa feels fairly confident in just turning away and disappearing into the flaming building.]

What about me?

[He'd been trying to be cordial, but the innocent reply doesn't get an equally jovial response from him. It's a flat tone and his posture doesn't hunch or anything; this is old news for him. ]

... No. I can't.

[His casts his eyes about the room, wondering if that's going to get taken as an insult by any of her attendants or children and he'll be "politely" asked to leave. He's just not about to answer differently.]

Closest I've ever seen is one brother reunited with his kidnapped sister.

Who knows. Maybe there's an inside party?

[A careless, barely there shrug, clearly made with the idea of using as little energy as possible.]

The Heavens don't tell newcomers anything, so there's no way we could know. It's part of the problem...

[ The oracles look at the tablet, and then at each other, confused. Thank...you? They...think? Imagine, a future they couldn't predict! A future where someone would rather sign a tablet themselves than give it to Master Apollo for the Master's signature instead!

Hibiki is terribly amused by all this. ] Don't be too hard on him. This is, unfortunately, his limit.

[ Oh. How very sad for him. The oracles look at Roxas in sympathy. They'll keep this, then. To remember Master Apollo's grace to you. Thank you for letting them see such a wonderful sight! It's a marvelous present!

Who let Hibiki meet these people? ]

[Initially, Shun thinks his coat has snagged on something among the wreckage, and it's not until he looks back again that he realises it's actually Ren having taken hold of it. Though he's still concentrating on getting them to the door, the sound of Ren breaking into coughing again makes him grimace a little under his mask, and while still focusing forwards, he reaches back with his free hand to take hold of Ren's wrist to make absolutely sure he doesn't lose him.

Thankfully, the door is just a few seconds more walking away by this point, and though the smoke is still oppressive and foul right outside of it, at the very least it's a little easier to breathe once they step out of the enclosed space.]

Oh, is that so?

[Hakkai brightens curiously.]

Was there anything interesting in it? I only found a few novels myself. One of them was quite good....

[It's not like Chikusa was expecting to be a goat expert. He watches the slow edge towards disaster that is the cloth around Makoto's waist and then points towards the nearest bit of civilization that's around.]

Have you tried applying that sort of idea when making your line...?

[It's what's worked for him, although he can't do nearly that kind of flashy thing with his own skills.]

[She shakes her head and gets up to move a little further away from her local 'guides', waving to them as she does.]

It's fine, I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable. I was kind of just talking out loud so I could think about it more myself. I thought maybe learning how other cultures view this kind of thing might help me make some decisions for myself.

[Kairi shrugs a little.]

Can I make it up to you somehow, Deku? Sometimes it's just easier to say things in front of strangers.

[ Yuri and Neji? One of the two must be his god, she's sure, but she couldn't quite tell which one. Would it be rude to ask? Did it really matter?

Nodding once, she matches his smile with her own, genuinely cheered by the whole thing. ]

That's right! I haven't gotten a chance to try any myself, but this might just be a good enough excuse to! Ah—not that I want you to think that's why I'm interested in having tea with you and your friends, of course!

[And, clearly on the same train of thought as him- ]

The second, probably.... But they rarely tell the new gods and their shinki anything of importance, so who can say for sure.

[But, really, that's a rather stupid thing to be unable to do. Deciding on one of the lunches, he continues to look through them and only shrugs at the question.]

Only a month.... but there have been others who've been here longer.

Why would I ever turn you away?

She might hold it against Roxas a little bit, but. That's on ~~her~~ him. ]
