[Closed] They tell me I'm a danger to myself
Who: Schuldig and Hibari
What: Retribution against someone who doesn't deserve it
When: June 28th
Where: The Far Shore to start
Warnings: Hibari
---
Schuldig wakes up to find that Jennifer has vanished. Being the telepath between her two gods, he's aware the connection is hers that severed. That doesn't mean he's happy about it, or that he's about to act rationally about it either. He's out for revenge and before he goes to "meet" with Hijikata, he needs to blow off some steam.
So who's the lucky target gonna be...

The second blow came, his hand clenching around the place where the shards of the cup cut his hand and drove at Hakkai's chest. The loud noise had startled both Kishi and Bon, who had run from the room, the dog staring at them from the doorway.

"You're certain you don't want to pick the bits of my cup out of your palm before you hit me?"
Antagonizing Hibari might not be the best of moves right now. On the other hand: it was successfully making him mad, and, Hakkai thought, punching it out might help.
Hibari's mood tended to be a little different from his that way.

He wasn't using his flames or his tonfa, just pure hand to hand and he drove the elbow of the extended arm up at Hakkai's chin, before turning his body to help push forward his next blow at the man's stomach.

His teacup toppled as his hip grazed his chair, shattering on the floor, and Hakkai winced. He'd have to visit the hundred yen store again.
no subject
Hibari just threw his fists at Hakkai again, reaching a leg quickly out to hook it around the taller man to bring him down on the floor.

He took it pretty well, only being pushed back a couple steps and welcomed the stinging pain. However, when he looked at Hakkai's eyes again, he felt no flicker of irritation, or a will really to keep going. "You're not the one."
And simply like that he just dropped his hands and began collecting the pieces of the cup he had shattered in his hands. Bon was still standing in the doorway, giving a large woof like he was concerned Hibari would attack again.

A porcelain fragment scratched his fingertip, and he winced, picking it carefully free with a claw.
"-- But you seem to be coming back to yourself," he added, and dumped his handful of broken cup into the trash bin.

"I don't need you to fight anything for me," he snapped, trying to save face, reaching to lick up the blood that was dripping out of the cuts on his left hand.
no subject
"-- human mouths are dirty," he adds, and tosses a wrapped bandaid towards the boy. "Don't lick the wound. And I would be doing it out of my own interests."
no subject
The cut was still bleeding somewhat, but for right now, he aggressively unwrapped the bandage and slapped it on, resolving to watch it later when he wasn't feeling so lethargic. He then turned to pet Bon on his head, causing the dog to wag his tail and give his uninjured hand a lick. "Everything is fine, Bon. You are doing a good job."
no subject
"He is," he agreed easily. "I'm offering backup."

Hakkai didn't see the need to rub that in his face aloud. It was equally obvious to both of them.
"... but backup never hurts," he concluded. "Although, of course, it's up to you."
no subject
But as it was, he was angry enough to reject Hakkai, but still calm enough to consider sharing more than he'd want to if he'd been completely sober. That man's name still burned on his skin.
"Back-up doesn't matter. People don't matter. It won't stop gods from branding me as their own once again." He pulled Bon tighter as Kishi began the ritual of rubbing against Hakkai's legs.

"Ah," he said, and scooped the cat up into his arms as he straightened to look levelly at Hibari. "Is that what he did?"
Not only to name someone, but to then use some sort of influence to suppress his emotions: that would leave a shinki truly vulnerable. Not even the prospect of blight could discourage it.
no subject
"It was just one-just one touch and I couldn't move. I couldn't even draw a borderline or rip his guts out." Hibari at this point had to let go of Bon or he'd risk hurting the poor dog. His hands were still shaking from renewed fury.

Hakkai knows his own speed and the accuracy of his attacks, but Hibari is fast, too. A frontal assault clearly won't be sufficient.
"In that case," he continues after a silent moment, rubbing a knuckle over Kishi's head, "I'll have to insist on offering backup. Someone like that should be destroyed as soon as possible, for all our sakes."
no subject
"If my power isn't enough then I've already lost."
no subject
He turned over his hand, thoughtfully inspecting the little scratch on his finger from the broken teacup.
"If you're fighting for a goal, then you have options."
If the goal, for instance, was to destroy Loki... then there were options.
