Pickpocket Problems
Who: Forrest and Psyche
What: Prayer #12
When: June 23rd
Where: Downtown Tokyo
Warnings: N/A
[It's been a little while since Forrest and Psyche stopped the pickpocket plaguing the public parks of downtown Tokyo... or so they thought. Weeks later, numerous prayers for finding lost and stolen objects reached Forrest's ears. Thinking it may be related, he and Psyche have decided to resume their investigation.]
If there are this many prayers involving stolen objects, it might be the work of an ayakashi. Let's stay alert.

Psyche... we did it.

Y-yeah... I think everything's hoarded in there, too. It shouldn't take too long to gather it all up.
[Though the birds were still spooked, the disappearance of the ayakashi seemed to have calmed them considerably. They were no longer whirling around the two and instead flying away from the door and windows, back to freedom....all except, Psyche noticed, the few battered, injured bodies (either from being jerked around or hit, from either side), which hopped or struggled to stay aloft, causing a spike of guilt to run through Psyche's heart.]
Does your healing work on animals?

[And even though he's injured himself, Forrest looks to the animals first. They're in much more danger right now than he is.]
Yes... I'll have to heal them one at a time, but I can manage it.

[The birds would coo anxiously, at first, but as they were healed there was a pause and then an instinctive flap of their wings and they were gone. As though sensing the reason why, the rest of the birds grew louder but still, awaiting their turn, until they were well enough to fly. It was a good sight, after all of that.
[Psyche absently wiped away one of her own cuts, across her face, before she looked over Forrest's bleeding shoulder. Concern grew across her features as she realized where that injury must've come fro]
How about you? Are you okay? Did it blight you?

M-maybe a little... I should be all right if I spend some time in the healing pool.
no subject
Here. Um, it won't work as well as your healing magic, but...it'll keep it from being aggravated until we get back.
[And his magic could take of the bleeding, at least. The healing pools would have to take care of the rest. She looked back at the stolen goods, debating, before continuing]
As for that....we can probably just start dropping things off tomorrow. After your shoulder's been taken care of.
no subject
[He glances at the pile of goods as well.]
Will it be all right to leave it here?
no subject
[It didn't seem likely, with the fact the area itself was mostly abandoned, but it wasn't like there was an ayakashi playing security guard anymore.]
Or I can just circle back after you're back at the temple, at least.

[Without the ayakashi, though there was still signs of decay and abandonment, the air would feel cleaner. Lighter, as though an uncomfortable pressure had let up.
[They'd have to come back later to get everything else but the feeling would be clear enough: the building was safe and everything in it was safe for now.]

[Forrest can at least help pick up the small stuff.]
