005 | Sakura In The Night
Who: Everyone!
What: Cherry blossom viewing
When: Nighttime March 26, 2016
Where: A park with sakura trees
Summary: Heaven is throwing a small party to view the sakura and let everyone relax.

After the absolute disaster that happened with handing out chocolates, the Heavens are tripping over themselves to make up for their inability to properly handle the situation. They are eager to make amends and assure everyone that they are hardworking individuals who want nothing more than to make everyone's stay here enjoyable or at least pleasant. To that end, they have invited all of the gods and shinki to a lovely flower viewing, since the sakura are in season.
And by 'invited', they mean 'mandatory', of course. You will accept their apology, whether you like it or not.
It's not all bad, though. The Heavens have provided various kimonos that can be worn, if you haven't brought your own, but you're not required to wear a kimono. They would, however, really like it if you did wear them. It's very traditionally Japanese, after all.
The party is taking place at night so that you can all hide your merrymaking from the Near Shore residents and also because the night sky is beautiful against the cherry blossoms. So try to at least enjoy yourselves while you're here.

Banquet
Every kind of food imaginable is available for your eating pleasure. On top of that, there are dozens of different kinds of desserts ready to be devoured as well. For the older crowd, booze has been provided and is being served by white-clad shinki bearing the golden chrysanthemum of Amaterasu. They are, however, refusing to serve alcohol to anyone who looks too young to drink, sorry guys.
Cherry Blossoms
The blossoms are absolutely gorgeous this year, and they are at the peak of their blooming right now. Nearly every single bud has bloomed and the pink petals are floating by everywhere you go. There is an ethereal light emanating from each of the trees, lighting up the area with a soft, pink light, yet it doesn't seem to be drowning out the brightness of the stars at all. It really is the most beautiful cherry blossom viewing anyone could ever hope for.
"Secret" Corner
Somehow, the Heavens have managed to make one small corner of the grotto into a completely secluded area. There is no marking or signs to indicate what this corner should be used for, but anyone entering it will suddenly realize that this is a place for lovers to meet privately. Only those that you enter the corner with will be able to notice your presence, and you will be unable to notice anyone else's presence as well. Enjoy yourselves, young ones!
Counselling
Off to the side, there is a tiny table set up with a small, nicely written sign that reads "Gentle Counselling". On the other side of the table is a sweetly smiling shinki who is willing to listen to your problems and answer any questions you might have. She is also here to help out any gods that are having a hard time dealing with knowing about how their shinki died and any shinki that is having trouble coming to terms with the fact that they are dead. Counselling will also gladly be offered to anyone who is still pissed off or upset in any way about what happened after White Day.

And then Naminé does put the leaf in her mouth, chews, and blinks.
"It tastes good." She sure sounds surprised.
no subject
He was expected her to make a grossed-out expression, or at least comment on it being unpleasant in some way... but to say it tastes good? Really? It's a leaf, how is something like that supposed to be tasty?
He frowns uncertainly. Is she trying to trick him? Maybe she realized what he was up to and wants him to suffer the same fate? But... she really doesn't seem the type. Maybe she's a really amazing liar and he fell right into her trap?!
Add scoffs, glaring at her suspiciously. "Don't joke around with me. It's a leaf, I can't believe you really ate that with a straight face."
no subject
His mood definitely changed quickly. Naminé's taken aback by it, and her eyes widen slightly. Did she say something wrong? She's new at this stuff, at socializing, but she'd spoken only the truth. Naminé doesn't have it in her to trick anyone, after all.
"I... No, I'm not joking. It really doesn't taste awful."
no subject
He doesn't know how else to react to this, so he decides to just go the full one-eighty. Yes, it's a pathetic prank when someone else tries to pull it, but it was totally a great and amusing trick when it was his idea.
She seems a bit surprised, though, even if she was trying to trick him back... maybe there's still some fun to be had with this kid.
He grins wide, leaning forward into her personal space and letting his eyes shift to a more menacing black. "I honestly can't tell if you're gullible or just stupid. So, which is it?"
no subject
She does take a step back, because that absolutely is not a thing she wants. That's when she finds her voice, at least.
There's more than a touch of hurt to her voice when she says, "I'm really not trying to trick you."
And she's definitely not going to answer that question, since it's just so mean.
no subject
But... it's a leaf. There's no way. He can't believe something like that without evidence.
After a pause, he takes a step forward, back into her personal bubble. No, even if she really is being honest or trying to trick him, he can't just give up so easily. He will find the answer!
"Describe it to me. What it tastes like."
no subject
"Um..." Bear with her, she's new at this taste stuff. "Salty. I think? And... not sweet at all."
no subject
He folds his arms, clearly not impressed with her response. He's not sure yet if this means she's lying or if she really is just that stupid, though...
But then another idea comes to him. He slips back into a coy smile, staring down at here.
"It sounds like you didn't get a very clear impression of it," he replies smoothly. "But since it was so good, there'd be no problem with trying another one, correct? You haven't had both parts at the same time, so you still haven't tried the full experience anyway, kukukuku."
Oh yes. He definitely has her cornered now.
no subject
"I... suppose not." Seriously, he's really confusing her. Is he being like this on purpose? But she still reaches for another mochi, leaf and all. She takes a bite of it, leaf and all, chews, considers for a moment.
"It's... definitely salty, yes."
no subject
He stares, practically glaring for a long and uncomfortable moment. If she's trying to pull a prank on him, by now she would've already lost since she's eaten two leaves in a row...
Silently, cautiously... he picks up one of the mochi.
I mean, it's not like it was completely outside his predictions that the leaf would be edible. He didn't think it was likely, but it was still possible. So maybe he got a bit overeager when she gave him that gullible reaction and didn't want to look like a fool by believing her. He still would've made her eat two just to be sure of her honesty, so it's not like he did anything embarrassing, right??
But he still can't confirm anything based on another person's observation. The only way he can be sure about it...
Steeling himself, he brings the dessert to his mouth and quickly forces himself to take the tiniest possible bite that includes the leaf. Just because she ate two doesn't mean he won't minimize the risk...!
That turns out to be unnecessary, though, because it doesn't taste especially bad. After silently analyzing the flavour for a few more seconds, he takes another, slightly larger bite with the leaf.
"... a bit too salty," he grumbles, eating the rest of his dessert.
