A; Temple

[ Although her first day had been filled with travel and excitement and then the dangers of the attack on Amaterasu's temple, the days following had settled into a more sedate pace. Her shock at seeing her temple for the first time had been an emotional one and it had taken her a while to adjust being back in what she could only think of as her father's castle once more. And if the first few nights had had her waking abruptly from nightmares, at least there was no one close enough to hear.

Despite the dark memories that still haunted the halls of this place for her, Yona puts on a bright smile and tackles her new duties with a determined attitude, seeing to her temple and learning as much as she can about this new place and what will be expected of her here. She can often be found in the gardens or in the orchard, sometimes working or maybe just wandering and exploring. Sometime within the first few days, an empty portion of land behind the orchard is cleared to make a simple archery range and visitors might occasionally hear the rhythmic thwip of arrow after arrow being released and finding its mark - not always perfect but consistently close enough. ]

B; The Far Shore / The Near Shore

[ Yona doesn't spend all her time within the walls of her own temple, however. She's gotten far more accustomed to roaming and exploring and while determined not to ignore any of her duties as goddess, she's also very curious about her new home and those that inhabit it. So in between tending to her own duties and her shinki, it won't be surprising to find her out exploring the Far Shore, seeing what she can learn of the other gods, shinki and temples in her vicinity.

It's not only the other gods and goddesses that interest her but also learning more about this world and her own responsibilities. A trip to the Near Shore finds her some of the information she's hunting for and she spends an afternoon or two curled up somewhere quiet, under a tree or by a pool of water, with a stack of books beside her, covering a variety of topics - from stories and lore about the god she is here to represent or history of the world she's been brought to or any other topic that might have been brought up or caught her eye recently. Also, the technology of this world continues to fascinate her, so you might find her poking curiously at the phone she'd been given upon arrival, still trying to figure out how it works and learning how to navigate the BBS and whatever else she might happen to stumble across. ]

[Johan himself has taken to walking around the Near Shore.

In a way, it resembles much of his own home, but at the same time, not quite. People don't Duel here, card spirits seemed to not exist at all, and since he didn't have his own shinki to keep him company, it did leave Johan a little lonely with the company of his Deck.

Not that he minded it, but there were times when being alone in such a big temple can be lonesome even with his family surrounding him.

So, it comes to a bit of a surprise when he sees Yona settled by a tree with books beside her and she seems to be fiddling with her phone.]

Yona?

[ She glances up at the sound of her name and recognizes him immediately from her first day here. Setting her phone aside, Yona casts him a warm smile in greeting. ]

Good morning, Johan. Are you out exploring as well?

[ Elfnein has been exploring the Near shore while trying to get hang of the whole goddess business now, the amount of people studying and reading books makes her happy. ]

What books are you reading?

[ Yona glances up from her book to see a little girl in front of her and she smiles as she turns the book around to show her the pictures. ]

This one is about faeries. I've been told the goddess I am here to assist is linked to the people of the fae, so I've been trying to understand their lore.

Having trouble with things like that too, huh?

[Enjoy this random girl just getting all up in your business, Yona. Still, she can recognize technology bewilderment a mile away, having been the same- actually still the same, she guesses. So she's made a detour from her walk to come over and investigate.]

[ Other than a slight start of surprise - because she'd been more immersed in her study of the device than she'd realized - Yona doesn't seem to mind the interruption, glancing up at the unfamiliar girl with a warm smile. ]

Was it that obvious? Yes, I'm afraid so. Such devices don't exist in my country, but everyone seems to use it here, so I thought I'd better start learning.

[Forrest has been busy for the past few days, running various errands. He's on a pretty tight timetable, but every so often he needs a break. The gardens at his temple are relaxing, certainly, but a total change of scenery is really what's called for here. So while he's out strolling in the park, he happens upon Yona sitting under a tree with her books. Catching her eye as he passes by, he smiles politely.]

Ah... hello. Lovely day, isn't it?

[ She glances up at the voice, surprised by the interruption, but after a momentary blink she smiles at him and inclines her head in agreement. ]

It's quite beautiful. I thought I'd enjoy the nice weather myself while I was out exploring for a while. Were you doing the same?

[While Yona is roaming the Far Shore, she'll soon come upon what seems like an extremely simple temple: Greek in design, pure white, circular and in the size of a very small house. A familiar lanky figure, now wearing a black earred beanie, is patiently piling the groceries out from a shopping cart onto its pristine white steps. At the sound of someone approaching, he looks up warily but pauses.]

...Oh. You from the fire...

[ She'd been intending to pass by, but when he glanced up and recognized her - and she realized she did as well - she paused to approach instead, offering him a smile of greeting. ]

Yes. So we meet again, it seems. Hello. is this where you live?

[Neji doesn't often go away from his own... territory to simply wander- not the Far Shore, anyway. The world of the living is new and confusing in a way that has him stubbornly wanting to learn more of it. Meanwhile, the realm of the gods (and shinki and other things, whatever) has structure to it, he guesses.

It has expectations. It has a definite Yours and Mine.

...and he is definitely not in his. The orchard somehow drew him in. It's summer. It's hot. Shade was welcome but then there was the... archery range. And something in Neji twists at the sight of the practice going on--

precision is] Good. [Not great but. Huh.]

[ She hadn't realized she was no longer alone, so focused on her draw-aim-release-repeat that she hadn't noticed him until he spoke, breaking the otherwise silence of the morning. It has her pausing in the automatic reach for yet another arrow, fingertips slightly reddened and calloused from the practice, a slightly startled expression on her face as she blinks and comes out of that state of intense focus. ]

Oh! You surprised me. I'm sorry, I hadn't realized anyone else was here.

[Kaya is walking around the roads of the Far Shore after going to class. She's carrying a notebook, a pen, and a dictionary inside a cute bag that matches her sundress. If Yona raises her eyes from the book or phone she's reading, she will see a familiar girl on her way to Hebe's temple.

Luckily she's feeling better after talking to Zeno, so she's not fostering any negative feeling about Yona. Not that she would anyway.

Come say hi? She's not in a hurry, she's just enjoying the fresh air.]

[ As Yona had been sitting a while anyway and she was starting to get hungry, she'd just decided it was time to get moving, straightening up and gathering her belongings. When she steps back onto the road, it's just in time to see Kaya approaching and her expression brightens into a sunny smile as she hurries towards her. ]

Kaya, hello!

A! Combo breaker! July 1st!

[ Was it rude to wander like this? Perhaps. But then, it was hard to miss a sudden shift in the appearance of a nearby temple, especially something so drastic. And so, a few days after observing that change, the blond shinki finally decided to take matters relatively into her own hands.

Being naturally inquisitive was hard, and often meant that she would get herself in trouble. Hopefully this time wouldn't be the case.

And really, the grounds here were beautiful, almost like a castle in their own right. Yet it wasn't the gardens or the orchard, or even the curious architecture that really drew her attention, but the sound of something strange singing through the air, gentle yet almost rhythmic. That was what she followed when she spotted her.

Hair red as the sun at dawn, a woman she met while Ameterasu's shrine smoldered in the background, the goddess's eyes burning somehow brighter than the flames behind them.

Forgive her, Yona, she might be staring from beyond a small copse of trees, because of all the people she expected to see here... ]

[ It might take her a while to notice, and it's only when Yona takes a small break to pause for a drink from a nearby bottle that she realizes she's not alone. Glancing up, her gaze casts around for the reason she senses that before spotting the unexpected audience she'd earned during her practice.

Tucking her bow over one shoulder, she strolls towards the other woman lingering near the edge of the orchard with a friendly smile. ]

Ah, hello! I didn't realize I had a visitor. I don't think I caught your name the night we met...?

[Look. After waiting for ~2,000 years and then how-long-in-The-Far-Shore, next to nothing is going to prevent Zeno from spending time with Yona.

Still. A couple things might sidetrack him for a bit.

The sight of Hiryuu Castle triggered a terribly morbid curiosity in him, and he satisfies it, finding the room that grew around the tomb of Yona's prior incarnation with a purposeful ease.

He can't keep track of time very well on the best of days, and he spends a long time debating whether or not he wants Seiryuu's powers enough to see if there are actual mortal remains inside the coffin-- end result being that it's early evening when he emerges back into the castle proper. His fast recovery powers means any paleness from shock has dissipated, but his usual smile is a little more subdued as he sets out looking for Yona, not Hiryuu's ghost.]

[ She's perched on the steps when he finds her, a single lantern illuminating the area and a tray with a pot of tea and a plate of steamed buns beside her. She's idly flipping through a picture book about Ireland when she hears footsteps and glances up, expecting it to be Shizuo.

Upon spotting Zeno, however, she looks surprised before smiling. Even though she looks a little concerned at the odd expression on his face, one she's not used to seeing there. Had something happened? ]

Zeno! I didn't realize you were here. Are you alright?

[As Yuto walks around he notices the girl poking her phone. It's not exactly a common sight so it catches his attention and makes him walk up to the girl.]

Do you need help?

[He doesn't have anything better to do right now anyway and who knows maybe he'll be of some help actually.]

[ She glances up at the unfamiliar voice before falling back on a sheepish smile at having been caught so easily. ]

Ah? I'm... not certain? So many people here use these devices, but I'm still learning how it works. I confess, I'm a little lost.

[ It's always hard to stop ones curiosity to get the upper hand, so sometimes D2 just runs with it. Which is why he's in a temple he doesn't really know who it belongs to, distracted during his exploits of adding the new temples on the map he started to make about a month ago now. He was looking for someone to ask for permission to look around, and ended up wandering inside, ending up in the orchard and spotting a familiar person in it. ]

Oh! So this is Yona's temple.

[ At the voice, she glances up from where she'd been feeding one of the red mares an apple. The creature shied away a little in surprise, but Yona just smiles as she calms it before turning to greet him. ]

It is! Hello. Were you exploring?

[ She's been doing some of that herself, when her duties here weren't keeping her busy. ]

[Closed] bodyguard introductions!

[ Having both Zeno and Kija show up at her temple not long after she finds it herself is of no surprise to Yona, but after catching up with them a little, she steps out of the room she'd been visiting with them to glance around the surrounding grounds.

She knew he was somewhere close by - she could feel him, and was aware of just how cautiously watchful he'd been all afternoon. The bond with her shinki was still something new and unusual but in this case it was something useful as she tries to pinpoint where he's currently at.

Deciding it would be easier to just let him come to her, she calls out to him instead. ]

Shizuo? Are you busy?

AKA How I Met Your Dragon

[ It was pretty clear from the beginning that, save for respecting that Yona shouldn't be shadowed constantly, the blond intended to keep the promise he made before having been Named. Though it may have been in a more casual sense, like him laying down on a roof to soak in the sun, there was always a way to at least keep an eye out if not on her.

He was dumb, but not so dumb that he couldn't tell how important this place was to his Goddess from the moment they found the place. He wasn't going to let it catch fire.

So it's no surprise that he hears Yona while relaxing out on the porch-like area. It might take him a moment, but he responds back pretty quickly. ]

Not really. What's up?

July 2nd

[ Yoon is walking back from another errand and gets turned around until at last he's at the steps of the huge structure. He doesn't recognize it, but more importantly to him it just looks HUGE. He stands there at the border of the public zone of the Far Shore and her temple and just gapes at it. ]

What kind of a god lives here...?

[ Must be a massive, powerful, strong old god...? ]

[ She'd just been returning from a walk of her own, a basket tucked under one arm with some berries she'd found the previous day. She comes across Yoon at the foot of the stairway leading up to the temple and arrives just in time to hear him utter that question.

For a moment her heart clenches, but he hasn't seen her so she has a moment to compose her expression and summon a smile before approaching, managing to keep him from noticing anything is amiss as she approaches. Although if he looks closely enough, he'll see the faint shadows under her eyes from nights of not sleeping well. ]

This one, I'm afraid. Good afternoon, Yoon!

A is for Archery

[Teleporting is efficient, but it doesn't do much for exercise or scenery. Sometimes it's nice to take a walk for no more reason than that. Omi tries to be mindful of others' temples as he treks through the forestry, but it's not always easy to know how wide a berth to keep to avoid bothering anyone. And his intentions don't wholly factor in that he's also a curious one.

So when his ears catch the sound of something thunking at roughly equal intervals, his feet find a detour towards a clearing that just happens to be in the same direction as the sound. He can't help being a bit taken aback by what he finds: a girl, one with fiery red hair that reminds him of Aya, who stands poised with a bow and arrow. Omi watches as she steadily fires one arrow after another at a target.

He stops short of leaving the cover of the trees; half of it is out of habit to stay hidden, the other half simple lack of forethought about how unsettling or suspicious it could be from the other side to have an unannounced spectator lurking in the backdrop. It's just so easy to get sucked into watching...]

[ She notices him when one quiver runs out of arrows and she moves to reach for her second, pausing before her fingers connect. Having caught sight of him out of the corner of her eye, she straightens and turns towards him with a curious smile. ]

Hello! Can I help you?

C - On the 29th so this is nice and early!

[ By this point, it would have been a day or two since Shizuo had ripped a young tree from the ground without having realized what had happened. It had been 3 days since the fire at that other temple, where both he and Yona ran to help where they could, and he did his best to explain being able to push open a solidly stuck and heavy set of doors that other people were having trouble with.

It's only been a couple of minutes since Shizuo had accidentally broken one of the cups that was in stored away. Not by dropping it or heating it too far, but by squeezing it a hair too hard without realizing it. This was probably the second time it had happened, and the blond was trying to be more careful with everything. Especially when it was plain to see how much this place meant to Yona.

Enough for her to have nightmares- He was well aware of them happening, but with the situation and having no ability to know how to actually help, it didn't seem right to press about them. If he asked and the girl said that she slept well, it felt cruel to say he knew otherwise.

Best he could do was keep an eye out, make sure her temple and home stayed safe (a worry he had, at least, since that fire,) and not make things difficult on the redhead. Which is why he gives a gentle warning while sweeping and picking up all the cup's broken pieces with his hand. It was also one of those rare moments where the blond had the sunglasses off- he seemed to put them on without thinking whether he was outside or in. ]

Ah, watch your step when walking around here. Some pieces might have spread out further than I've checked.

Ah!

[ She pauses before proceeding, peering down at the broken pieces of teacup in surprise a moment before crouching to help him pick them up. ]

Are you alright? Did something happen?

[ There's less concern for one broken piece of porcelain and more for the chance that he might have gotten injured in the process. One hand cupped to hold, her other plucks up some of the remaining shards from the floor with care. ]

A - July 1 Midday

[ Kairi flies over the Far Shore on the orange Nimbus cloud running errands, but as she goes she naturally starts looking around at some of the changing scenery. One of the most notable changes is the giant new temple with the beautiful orchard and gardens. She sees someone practicing archery and swoops lower, until she realizes it's Yona. Not a good friend - although she thinks they could become so - but someone she knows all the same. Enough to make her curious. ]

Hi Yona! Mind if I... drop in, I guess?

[ She even gives a little wave when Yona looks up her way. The cartoon car noises that Nimbus makes are surely making it easy to find her in the sky. ]

[ The unfamiliar sound does indeed draw her attention upwards and she looks surprised to see Kairi overhead riding a... is that a cloud? ]
